Quote:I think it could work something like this:I hope what Golden Girl suggested is right, because it would be fantastic. I'd be very into "moral choice missions", hopefully that are more in-depth and subtle than "Burn a box of kittens OR build robotic parents for every sad orphan". I'd also hope that you can see your "Good/Evil points" so that if you're intent on being heroic, you can get more hero points, or vice versa with villains, or keep track of just *how* villainous or heroic you are. I know I'd try a character that made the same honest decisions that I would, to see where I landed.
I know it's all theory, but it's a great one.
A contact gives you a rescue misson - they can't or won't pay the very large ransom demand of the kidnappers - so you agree to go help them.
You free the hostage and return to the contact - clicking on her/him brings up a normal mission debriefing/ask about available missions window, but instead of assuming you'd completed the task, it'd have a question, where she/he asks you if you succeeded in rescuing the hostage, and there'd be three responses you could choose:
1 - "Yes, I/we rescued them".
Clicking this option would lead to the next mission briefing as normal, and give you one "good rep point".
2 - "Yes, I/we rescued them, but I expect to be rewarded for it"
Clicking this option would get you a random recipe/salvage drop, but would still take you to the next mission briefing like option 1 would - the contact would realize you were a mercenary, but were still reliable as long as you were paid for your work.
You'd get no good or evil rep points for this, as it's a reasonable expectation that if you're taking risks for someone, they'll give you something for it.
3 - "Yes, I/we rescued them, but there's been a change of plan - pay up the original ransom to me/us, and you'll get the hostage back".
Clicking this option would give you one point of evil rep, and would also cause the arc to branch - instead of getting the next misison like option 1 and 2 would get, you'd be given a "meet with" mission, where you go to a warehouse, for example, to collect the ransom - and find you've walked into a trap. -

It's not so tough, as long as you know that the ones ehading to the door are just the normal mobs on the map - basically, the entire map heads to the door, one mob at a time, so you just need to patrol close to the door and wait until you see them coming towards it.

I enjoyed the 2XP weekend - did a couple of ITFs, so there was the usual lag on the 3rd mission, but didn't notice any unusal lag anywhere else.

To try and tie the two themes of the thread together - how much bacon would you need before lost levels and xp didn't matter anymore?
-
Well, it might be temporary - if there's an active Euro player called Markus, then he'll be Markus_EU, then there'll be a problem with trying to sort out who has the "right" to the name, I think.

I remember that crash and xp wipe bug from a while ago - it was very rare and was fixed pretty quickly, I think.

Quote:Is there any info to back that up, or is it just a hunch?Replace "a few zones" with "as many zones as CoV launched with".
I know that they first said "new zones" - which could mean as few as 2 - but then they mentioned "several enw zones" - and several is more than just 2 - but I've not seen any hint that there'll be as many as CoV - although that could be possible if they're looking to make the Neutral/Mercenary idea into a proper 3rd faction. -
Quote:you change forums when the old one had so much negative attention attached to the game it was losing you subscriptions.if you need some how to hide all that it would be a reason to change it but that is one possibility out of hundreds.
I think they just wanted something more modern and user friendly as the game has just got back on the shelves with the Architect Edition, and will be getting more attention soon with GR. -
There should be a "We Were Once in the 700 Club" club
Although, I'm pretty sure GR will take the toal back past 700 again.

Quote:The devs were talking about making 50s more powerful with no level cap change at Comic-Con, I think.Personally, I don't think that would happen.
Though it would be cool to see something similar like that happen. Maybe the 6 year Veteren award could be-- a Lvl 51 character. Choose 1 character per account to be lvl 51.
Unlocking special enhancement slots seems like it would upset the balance the Dev's try and create with the archetypes.

Defiant has been ok for 2XP - Atlas is still quite busy even now
