Don't forget that we're only into the 3rd week of the WST, and there are almost 7 years' worth of 50s hanging around in the game - the WST frenzy will die down a bit once those 50s start getting their Alpha tiers.

I think it's been overtaken by newer content, so playing around with SOs isn't quite as important as it once was, so it maybe doesn't need such a flashy interface anymore.

Welcome to the game and the forum, even if you are on the wrong side of the law

Joining the Defaint Events global chat channel is the best move any new player can make - Most of the missions in the game take place on instanced maps rather than zones, so zones can sometimes seem quiet, even if there are a lot of players around, as they're mostly on the instanced maps.
The Defiant Events channel will put you in touch with lots of other players, regardless of where they are in the game. -
Welcome to the game and the forum

If you're looking for example of hoiw flexible the CoH costume creatrois,. go to this thread:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=120580
It's got over 300 pages of totally amazing costumes dating back to 2007.
The majority of the costume parts ar eincldued int he agme, but there are also costume booster packs available for players tp purchase, which are based around specific themes - for example, the next booster pack to go on sale is the animal pack on Fenruarty 23rd - it includes parts to make animal avatars, like wolf, cat and bird heads, plus other costume parts, along with a running power somyou can travel on all fours, and some animal themed emotes. -

The amount of shirtless screentime looks pleasingly high

Quote:Actually, looking at the wacky hijinks his Praetors get up to, I think just about anything goes, so long as you keep it out of sight of the public.I really hope that's not what they're going to pass of as "villainous" content. He'd be worse to work under than Recluse. Mostly because he'd be harder to work around.
If you had a similar status to a Praetor, you could carry out mass-murder, enslavement, kidnapping, torture, brainwashing, experimentation on live humans, drug pushing, assassination, giant war robot creation, bank-robbing and incest - just as long as your crimes were kept behind closed doors.
The way the dictatorship's been set up in GR gives a lot of scope for high level evil-doing, with the added layer of having to be secretive about it, which would add some interesting twists to villainous story arcs. -
In case you hadn't noticed, what happens in the game-world isn't always an accurate reflection of what can happen in the real world

It's not about breathing or having blood - it's about having that special spark that living creatures have, which a machine can never have.

But a machine can never really be alive, so no matter how good the AI is, it's still only going to be a machine.
-
That gives me an idea for an interactive picture...

Quote:We were talking about icons in the Other Thing, not CoH, which doesn't suffer from the same problemAnd this is where Villains win. We get to not only beat up Recluse's lackeys, Recluse himself, but we also get to kick the everloving crap out of all the big name Heroes too!
Triumph; it tastes of win

It wouldn't be a real living thing though - it'd only be a machine with a clever computer.

I think pop culture icons can be as big a turn-off as a come-on for an MMO - especially for something like a comic book game.

Quote:As far as I know, the Pylons are just a mission objective - they don't alter the rest of the misison in any way.One question I've always been curious about and never seen answered (in spite of having been doing this TF since it came out) is what exactly do the Pylons really do in the Hammi mission?
I've seen people argue that you take them out first, or that you leave them in place while dealing with the Mitos. I've never seen anyone in game who really seemed to know what they actually did, but they seemed to be parroting what they had seen before (which is, of course, understandable).
I'd just like to know if there is an optimal option (kill first, kill last, etc). -
Do you mean the the avatars, or the players, or both? If it's either of the last two, then shouldn't you wait a few months for summer? I think it'd make recruiting for the TF runs much easier.
