Does your play-style match up with who you are in RL?
RL: flatulent schlub
CoX: levels up Dark Blast characters just to get Blackstar, jump into a group, activate the nuke and yell "Smell my justice/villainy!"
Yep. -
Yes indeedy, and that's how I bankrolled my heroes when I started with a clean slate blueside. Run lowbie MA arcs and roll bronze 10-14.
-
Red rep is for villains.
Green rep is for Martians. -
Just to point out that huntsmen aren't helpless in melee, my SoA has made good use of Pummel from the get-go. It's not great damage (same as Single Shot), but it carries a 66% chance to lay a mag 3 stun on your victim and is fast to animate and recharge.
I plan to pick up Bayonet as well, maybe as part of a respec, just to have another single target attack for any fool who dares run up on me -
It's the knockback that is more common in PB powers than in WS ones.
Every problem - ever, no exceptions in the history of the world since Aristotle invented MMOs - comes down to knockback. -
Kheldians don't have access to the Flight pool, so Jump Kick might work for them.
It also looks funny when a crab spider does it. -
Hobo Hockey with my Ice/Storm controller in Faultline. Freeze one of the Lost and push him around with Hurricane.
-
Use the knockback from Dual Pistols to keep them off you.
-
Darkest Night also gives affected enemies a -21% damage debuff (all types), so with your existing resists, you may be fine as is.
-
Having the stores show up on the zone maps. It used not to be the case.
Tram stop in Croatoa. -
It's been mentioned before, but many Fortunatas go by Seer (name), if you want to stick to Arachnos canon.
Or you could make a skimpy outfit and name one Seer Panties, if you want to be a pervert. -
Dual Blades also has good AoE capability, and the combos allow some creative ways of messing with the mobs, mostly via chainable knockdowns. If you want Ninjitsu as a secondary, try the Sweep combo and chuck caltrops on them while they're down.
Good luck! -
The saga of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles ends as the kid reading the comic turns the last page, closes the cover and carefully returns the colorful book to its storage bag and backing board...
... in the bargain bin. -
Late to the party here, but I think many mobs will flee if they're under a persistent debuff effect, which Acid Mortar provides. Also, I'm having great fun and success with my Traps/Dark, especially because Tenebrous Tentacles immobilizes the baddies so they don't run away from their nice acid shower. The -to hit debuffs stack well with FFG, too.
Finally, don't ignore the huge -62.5% recharge debuff in Web Grenade.
Good luck! -
Also, because of the base damage resistance granted to most ATs in PvP, Sonic and Thermal shields are less useful. Not sure what your build plan was, but that's something to keep in mind.

Sam:
The Spirit of Pain and Spirit of Death masks are immune to Taunt. Just an FYI. -
Not so much an AI change, but flip the switch so that buff and heal powers that don't require enemy targets generate aggro.
Rock the aura now, punk. I'll cut ya! -
Quote:Not to speak for Nuclear Toast, but my guess is that the 29 Trap of the Hunters would have been vendoredIt's the equivalent of 33 end-of-TF recipe rolls pre-Merits. For someone not dedicated to pursuing them, it's quite a few.
Out of curiosity, if you had automatically received 33 invention recipes, what would you have done with them? -
I can bring Huntsman Grimaldi (43 gunbane).
Whole lotta dakka goin' on -
If you're emphasizing survivability, I'd recommend Touch of Fear as soon as it's available. It's perma out of the box; two applications will fear a boss, but it also carries a 10.5% to-hit debuff, which is what I'd recommend enhancing.
Burn would be good for those "Aaah! Get it off me!" moments, and if you wanted to pick up immobilize protection earlier, Combat Jumping is another option.
Hope this helps. -

I don't avoid popular powersets, missions, etc., but I do shy away from new ones for some time until I feel the bugs/glitches/hax have been adjusted. It's my entertainment money, and I want to have some idea of what I'm paying for.
-
I share your concerns, Westley, but I'm taking a wait and see approach.

My guess is that the incarnate levels will be the rewards for staying "pure" and not side-switching. The L50 hero badge is already Justice Incarnate.

Quote:Were they not fighting the NPCs that grant the badges? What appears to have happened is that they didn't want to fight other players in order to gain that reward, which is optional. I think you and your team were perfectly OK in attacking them, as were they in not fighting back (not so much for the complaining). They didn't want to earn the pvp reward, they wanted it given to them on a silver platter.
Optional PvP includes the choice of not putting up a fight at all.
