Quote:"You have just given a fortune cookie with no fortune, written by a master than doesn't exist..."so? Somebody at the fortune cookie factor watched Lost. Hardly a big deal.
Would that be a bigger deal?
Fortune cookie fortunes and numbers are randomly printed and stuffed. It's almost as much a coincidence as me walking out of "The Matrix" at the theaters for the second time and a friend of mine (on his first viewing) saying, "I'm not answering that!" when one of the payphones out front rang.
Just that, in the years since the numbers were popularized, I'm surprised it's the first time they've come up as winning lotto numbers -
Quote:I tried WoW too, and it was quite boring. Why would anyone pay the same price to play both games when this one is superior in every way, has a much friendlier community and you don't hear people whining about "You don't have a high enough 'gear score' to do this raid" and we need a tank? And now you've discovered the reason why I keep returning to this game. I tried WoW but between the gear elitism and the limited teaming options it just didn't interest me. My general policy for filling teams is to broadcast a message, take the first 7 people who turn up and hope for the best. It normally works out and I like that.
I'd love to see the average WoW hardcore raider do the ITF with the Holy Trinity mindset and watch wipe after wipe after wipe, knowing their are so many of us who can solo it as easily as we can Coyote's mission in Outbreak. -
I'm honestly surprised this is just happening. A friend of mine got a fortune cookie a couple of days ago and the Lost numbers were his lucky numbers as well.

IIRC the spaces in N P C need to be there. If you're on Freedom (which is where I spend most of my time, but I have characters on other servers) global friend me and I'll help you out when I can.

Welcome to CoX, Alyssa!
Some of my greatest teaming memories in this game come from all one AT or theme teams.
I've played WoW, and the people in the guild over there seem shocked that there's no "Tank, Healer, DPS" rule over here.
Of course, they've never seen a teddy bear in a tweed jacket and bowler hat with a katana tank and spank an AV solo (WoW equivalent would be a raid boss) either. -
First post in a while, just wanted to say good luck, Ocho! We'll miss you!

Quote:Nope. I have Practiced Brawler on auto. I'm sure I slotted that for a good reason. I just can't think of it at the moment.*giggles*
Why does Cheat Code have a Energy Manipulator: Chance to Stun in Physical Perfection ... for the occasional self reminder to hit Practiced Brawler? :P -
Response that brevity does not equal context.
Reply with further evidence that Bruce Campbell is the avatar of Cthulu. Offers to all posters to join The Chin or be sanity deprived when Bruce accepts his true position as the Prophet of the Great Old Ones. -

And here is Cheat Code's build, and she's fully IO'd out now.

Seething anger at useless post still clogging up the front page.

Asks for level cap increase to confirm OP's opinion.
Mentioning of other MMO and how it has higher levels. -
Reports post to dev, then cries about people neg-repping for honest opinions.
-
Threat that if people don't agree with OP, then they will leave the forum, depriving other posters of their knowledge.

Remaugen, you have yet to answer one question we have asked you repeatedly.
Where does it stop? Where in your version of the game is the level cap? Is there one at all?
Say they implement your level cap idea of 60, requiring the same amount of XP to get from 50-60 as it did to get from 1-50. So, we're at most, looking at 100 more hours of playtime.
If you only play two hours a day, that's 50 days to get from 50-60.
Ok so you added a month and a half to that character. Now, do they get more rewards for leveling?
More power slots? Higher damage powers? More enhancement slots?
Will we get more powerful IO sets? What about just more powerful common IO's?
You do realize that means taking even more developer time away from Issues and Updates to now rebalance everything for a 60 cap, right?
The game was designed to be capped at 50.
I'm sure if all the people you claim want the level cap bumped would come here and post it on the forums, in one thread, the devs might even seriously consider bumping up the level cap, but the general consensus from the community to the developers is that the level cap is just fine where it is.
What I don't understand is why you think you need to retire at 50?
Just the other day I did an ITF, helped a team help Penelope Yin find her father, ran with a level 4 team through the sewers, made 250 million Influence on Wentworth's, then went and paid my base upkeep all on the same character. Not once did I ever think I needed to retire that character to play with my low-level friends, or needed to switch characters to run the ITF. -
Late poster who agrees with the OP on several points that were shown to be a fallacy 2 pages ago.
Irate response to non-quoted post. -
Quote:Actually, you're right!
I just split the custom group into two groups (one with only the EB, one with only the normal mobs) and it worked just fine -- no more warning. I was worried this'd make the EB give less xp than normal [due to no henchman/lt/boss in its group], but apparently 'Boss' objectives aren't affected by that. Phew. :P
Thanks again!

No problem, and glad I could help! -
Quote:And now I know. Thanks, Sam!Arachnos Widows do indeed start out as a Blood Widow and can dual-class to either Night Widow or Seer of the Fortunata. In the same way, Arachnos Soldiers start out as Wolf Spiders and can then dual-class to Crab Spider or Bane Spider. Personally, I'm more than a little saddened that Wold Spiders can't just dual-class with themselves and keep being Wolf Spiders without having to disregard half their build, but that's just me, I guess.
Seriously, my Widow is sitting at level one next to Kalinda, cause I never play her. -
And by raising the level cap, not only will it turn the current level 50 areas into ghost towns, what about those of us who like to play our 50s?
Should I, after spending almost 1 billion influence IOing out Cheat Code just shrug and say "It was fun while it lasted, now I need to spend more money and time to keep up?"
Or the 800 million we spent on Ana's Archery/ Em blaster?
Not to mention, raising the level cap only increases grind time, not fun. Outward expansion, in variety of story arcs, missions and zones is the key. Upward expansion, through raising the level cap, is only a means to keep players reaching toward that carrot at the end of the stick.
So, say the devs take your idea and use it. We all get to 60. Okay, what now?
People begin to wail and gnash teeth. Why are we only at 60? So they raise it to 75.
Etc, all the way to what? 100? 200, 1000? Once you raise the level cap once, what's the logical stopping point from it being done again and again?
And if you find a logical stopping point, what's to keep those who get the final cap from getting bored and quitting?
Nothing at all.
Raising the level cap doesn't solve anything. It's just a temporary change of milestones while the devs, of any MMO, add more challenges. The same challenges that they could have been presented the players at a lower level.
