Quote:This is what the padlock means.Got the same thing; I presume it means that some or all of the costume pieces used in the costume are locked or have been changed but it seems an odd thing to indicate on the costume select screen as it doesn't seem to stop you from changing into that costume.
On my Dual Blade stalker, I had the padlock on my costume that uses the Organic swords from the mutant pack. When I went into the costume editor, my swords were changed from the organic swords to scimitars. I scrolled through my weapon options and the organic swords were still there, so they either got renamed, or moved on the list. -
This is a forum for asking questions. Questions that can be answered by other players of the game. Not a rant board.
I understand being upset, and if I were in your shoes, I probably would be pretty angry. However filling support tickets, and bug reports, let them know what you're experiencing, so that they can make sure they can get everything fixed is more likely to garner results than your current course of action. -
Quote:Let me just say, that the Power Slide looks nothing, -nothing- like an ice slide. If you've not seen it, either find a video of it, or ask in your servers global channels if someone how has it, can demonstrate it for you so you can see what your asking for.Or, create a new ice slide travel power and sell it on the Paragon Market. I just want ice slide for my ice characters!
Not that I'm saying it's lame, I found a CE at a Big Lots for $10, and picked it up. I use it on occasion, but not that often at all. Your character stands somewhat like they do on the rocket board, but you stay grounded, and there's a purple mist that surrounds your lower half. Other than those animation details, it's exactly like Sprint. -
Seems my Ustream was having issues, and I managed to get it back up and running, so feel free to ignore this.
-
Hey, I was watching the Ustream until about 11 am central, then left to get some lunch, when I can back a few minutes ago, the Ustream video was black, but it said they were still broadcasting live. Refreshed the page, and still get nothing. Did they break for lunch and are coming back, or what?
-
My guess is the OP wants it because they find they have to go AFK at a moments notice while playing sometimes, and doesn't want to come back to find their character dead.
Honestly, I'd go with Invul, or if you wait until I21 drops, Super Reflexes. Both on tanks. The def soft cap will be easier to hit on Super Reflexes, but you won't get high resistances. With Invul, you can get high resist and soft cap def, fairly easily, but somewhat expensive. -
I plan on using my free transfers to move at least one alt over to the VIP server, and it'll be an incarnate. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
-
Another option for getting your own global if you don't remember and don't have a friend available is "/getlocalname your character name here"

Quote:Were you involved in the lawsuit? Do you have the terms of settlement readily available to you? Do you have infallible proof that NO ONE, not one person or an entire company/corporation can file lawsuit against CoH and/or any of it's parent or subsidiary companies ever? The lawsuit was settled a long time ago, there is no threat at all of a new lawsuit, and there is no need whatsoever for any player to report TM violations. Absolutely none. Except the above mentioned PvP.
Cause I'd like to see that. -
If I were you, I'd wait on buying GR because of I21. If you keep your second account subscribed, it'll be a VIP and get GR free. If you plan on letting it become a premium account, then it's a toss up, since we don't know the final prices yet for the licenses you could buy to effectively get GR.

Yes, you did. There is absolutely no reason beyond personal desire for you to soft cap ANY character, blaster or not. I have been on the Incarnate Trials multiple times. I've done them with blasters that don't have any defense who didn't die once, and I've them of tanks and scrappers that are soft capped over the standard 45%, who've died multiple times. It's not because I can't play tanks and scrappers(I play those more than anything else) but just the league dynamic led to different circumstances. (Of course I've had trials where blasters died and my tanks survive unscathed as well.)
If you want to rework your build, maybe use your second or third build to make a soft capped blaster you can... but that'll gimp your damage, which in my opinion, defeats the purpose of being a blaster.
Play your character the way -you- want to play him/her. Anyone who calls you a noob is not someone you should want to be playing with anyway. -
Quote:With Primal Durray, Holds work well, but when you don't have that, it does end up being a game of chase with his teleporting all over the place. Keep a finger close to your "f" key so when you see him start to teleport, you hit that, and wherever he goes, you'll start to follow. How do you handle Primal Col. Duray ? o_o
The first time I did this TF I loved the maps, the story, the AVs... almost everything. Our team was made of what we found (mostly lvl 40-50) and we didn't encounter any real difficulty. With my Warshade I didn't even notice Harbinger's slowing bubble or Primal Duray's nasty teleportations.
Today I happily tried to do it with another team (there were 6 of us, from lvl 22 to lvl 50 - diff. +1x0) and we just couldn't kill this version of Duray. He was teleporting himself everytime everywhere and regenerating too much while we were chasing him. I was totally clueless about what to do. Since he was always teleporting, our Dark Miasma corruptors couldn't debuff him as efficiently as the previous MVs so maybe our team wasn't adapted to the challenge. Our little Cold defender's Snow Storm seamed also useless... Most of the time I can guess what we were lacking if a TF fails (debuff, DPS, coordination...), this time I didn't know. I'd like to take revenge with my SG without it turning to an atrocious fail at the last AV. Any hint, tips please ? :|
Also, necromancy is bad. -
I can't say how it is in game, since I haven't tried to use that combination, but I would say Mids is correct. The way it is in game is any set bonus that has the same name counts. The best example is with the Luck of the Gamble +7.5% recharge. LotG +7.5% has a different name in game than a set that grants 7.5% rech. So you can have 5 of the LotG, and then five sets that grant 7.5% rech.
My best advice would be to get those enhancements you're working on, and copy the character to the test or beta servers. THEN slot the enhancements and check the name of the enhancements in your Combat Attributes window. I think 5% run speed would fall under the name "Moderate Run Speed" or it'll something to that effect.
If Mids is wrong, then the set bonus for the Kinetic Combat might say "Moderate Run Speed Moderate Flight Speed Moderate Jump" And then list the Performance Shifter bonus as "Moderate Run Speed". -
Yup! The devs have said Incarnate is for VIPs only.

You're best bet will be to talk to your contacts. You should have some in there, even if you've finished their arcs. If for some reason you've cleared them all, then go to a level appropriate zone and run some radio missions. Once you do three to five random radio missions(Depending on level) you'll be given a safeguard(Hero) or mayhem(Villain) mission from your Detective/Broker for that zone. If you succeed or fail the mission, you'll be introduced to new contacts from the Detective/Broker.

So you're really that surprised that the system got broken when hundreds of people all log on, make new characters and buy all the new shiny things all at the same time? It's a beta, if you expect everything to be working perfectly aside from the "small bugs" that could be as simple as typos in the mission text, then you need to lower your expectations.
-
...you do realize that if all the new content was working properly... there wouldn't need to be a beta.
-
I DLed and installed the beta client last night and it only took about an hour and a half, no copying files or anything like that. So blame for slow downloads... shouldn't be directed at devs.

Quote:When I go to work, I have about 150 co-workers. Of those 150, only 1 other person shares my name, and they work a different shift than me, so there's no confusion there. However, with CoH which has over 100,000 subscribers, even spread out over the 16 servers(Though I play on Virtue, one of the more populated ones) we're dealing with thousands. As the resent stress test they did on Freedom with the Praetorian invasion, we know the servers can handle(Though lag) more than 4000 IIRC at one time. Of those possible 4000, there could easily be hundreds of people all named Jane, or John, or Sam, or Chris, or Ashley.you do know that some character concepts with name can never be made in CoX because of this naming system, this is not "lack of imagination" this is "keeping with the program".
you're not called henk just because there is already a jan at work, you're called jan regardless of that fact. -

Quote:I like it! But, I wonder if the tech is there for a dead character to be able to taunt, and the duration of the taunt might be a little weird. Say like a tank dies and has this power go off, just how long are the enemies going to stand there staring at a dead body? Might seem a little odd.Spectacular Death: When the character goes down, he tends to do it noticeably. So notably that the enemies are often distracted momentarily. AoE Taunt, short duration, with a ToHit roll. Purpose: distracts the enemy from the characters teammates.
Quote:Noble Death: an automatic version of Vengeance that fires off automatically, just like when Nemesis Lts go down. Make it weaker than normal Vengeance, maybe give it different effects, but let it stack (if multiple players go down).
Quote:Shrapnel: When the character goes down, automatic systems kick in to possibly take others with them. A minor DoT and debuff that hits anything nearby. Not a big attack but maybe enough to finish off a few weakened minions.
Quote:Spectacular Return: When this player gets up to start fighting again, the enemies are shocked and may lose their composure. AoE fear.
Quote:Toxic Resurrection: the revival process does something to this character's body and they emit a toxic cloud that reduces the enemies damage resistance for a short time.
Quote:Immolation: A slottable version of Self Destruct that has a much shorter animation time, but most of the same downsides. No body left to target and rezz, but area effect or self rezzes will work.
My only question for you is, is this that way you'd want them to be tiered?
Tier 1 : Noble Death, Shrapnel
Tier 2 : Spectacular Return, Toxic Resurrection
Tier 3 : Immolation
