If you experience disorientation, anxiety, or a sudden desire to visit Guildford, tell your doctor immediately."

Might want to give this a read.
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Trial_Accounts
If you aren't ready yet to buy the game, you can still make other characters to play... but c'mon. You know you want to buy it. -
That would be my guess as well. I'd also guess that it's not working as intended, and should probably be bugged.
-
Quote:Hrm... maybe they're fixing bugs that could potentially break the game, rather than bugs that are a minor annoyance? Couldn't really say, as I, and others who will post here, are players, not devs, or dev's bosses. Why wont the devs fix it? is it too hard of a bug to fix? are they too lazy? if a known bug has been around for years i would hope to get someone on it.
Quote:this is suppose to be the section where players help each other not suck up to the devs! Quote:out of that whole post, thats all you got out of it? not very helpful are you?
Despite that, I'll answer your question, mostly for anyone else who has this same problem, and would like to know the answer.
Is there a cure? No. But there is a quick fix. Binds. Or Macros, whichever you prefer.
Say you've got a Stone Tanker, and you want to have Mud Pots, and Rock Armor running 24/7. You can set up a bind that will toggle those powers on. Like so.
/bind t "powexec_toggleon Mud Pots$$powexec_toggleon Rock Armor"
So then, whenever you hit "t" then those powers will toggle on. If they're already toggled on, then nothing will happen. Of course you can change "t" to any other button. If you don't know the names of some of the keys like for your numpad, http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/List_of_Key_Names . So when you zone just hit the key you bind, and there you go.
Note: I've not actually tried combining multiple toggles into a single bind, so for the sake of animations/activation times on toggles, you may not be able to combine multiple toggles, or some might mesh together where others don't. If not, then you could set up multiple binds for each of your toggles. Best suggestion is to use the Numpad keys, but use what works best for you. -
Oh yes, now I see how
"My sense of ethics and morality is the only one that matters. It's not my fault that humanity hasn't developed psychic abilities."
is the same as
"If your personal moral compass flip flops or even wavers a little while doing something in the game that is obvious to you is not intended behavior, it's probably an exploit. " -
[ QUOTE ]
Lawyer: "What if someone were using their own sense of ethics and morality?"
Positron: "My sense of ethics and morality is the only one that matters. It's not my fault that humanity hasn't developed psychic abilities."
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sorry, but at what point does ethics and morality play into this? The point of fixing/saying not to use exploits is for that whole risk vs reward thing. -
The Centauri Republic started that rumor years ago.

Nyea, it bothers me to see that the community is all up in arms about how YOU read a subject?
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok, first off, no one is up in arms. Some people complained, and I offered constructive critism about it.
Secondly, yes. It is about how I read a subject. Because I am part of the community to which you are writing. You are writing something for us to read, it helps if you write something that is clear for us to understand.
I'm attempting to help you. If you don't want it, ignore me, my feelings won't be hurt. -
That was actually more of a rhetorical question for the OP, rather than my own person inquiry. But if anyone wasn't aware of them, kudos for posting them.
I read those boards every time I open my laptop, and I would assume from something the OP said, that they do as well. So the OP would have just as much info about anything, as we would. -
[ QUOTE ]
I was wondering when were getting them. The exclamations arent denotive of the fact that they arrived but of the fact that I( and everyone else) want
[/ QUOTE ]
That might be how you saw them, but try to remember, you gotta write this stuff out for the other people to see, and understand. For example. If you got a email from a co-worker that had the subject "Pay Raises/Promotions!!!" you'd most likely open it thinking that it had information about pay raises and promotions for your company, not asking if anyone else had info on those subjects. I'd suggest next time you want to denote something in this way, you add question marks. Like !?!? That expresses that you are seeking information, and are quite excited.(Please note, this is paragraph was writen as constructive critism, not bashing, or flaming)

All we know as of 1.5 weeks after i15 ( If you call it an Issue) is that in i16
[/ QUOTE ]
It's actually kinda rare from what I've seen, that we get such a big reveal about an issue, while another was still in beta. Of course a lot of us are curious, and want more details, but sometimes you just have to be patient. You said you read the Dev posts, well that's how we find out too.
[ QUOTE ]
I think with it being July 10 and all that we nee to get something in the form of a leak or an accidental email being sent out?!
[/ QUOTE ]
Unfortunately, this is not a bucket that if you poke it enough times a hole will form, and info leak out like water, also if it's to be an accidental email, how is the email supposed to know that it's supposed to accidentally slip out based on when you think it's time? Maybe that was just poor wording on your side.
All in all, I have one question for you. How would any player know when details about future releases would be given out? -
<qr>
You know, it's funny, I think back to when I had first started playing. I was only playing CoV, and it was before having one game, meant having both. The second character I created(Long since deleted now) was almost a Wolverine, one I would think a bit on before petitioning if it was someone elses character. Nothing in appearance, and his name was nothing like Wolverine, but in powers. He was a stalker, with claws and regeneration.
At the time I hadn't even realized, and like most, I never(And still haven't) read through the EULA. I know the basics, and that's fine for me.As I was saying though, I hadn't even recognized the simularities, because in my mind he had a simular background, just that he leaned more to the dark side. But I'd never set up his bio in game, so I probably could still play him today if I wanted to.
Anyway... yes, I petition the violations I see, and no I don't warn the person first. I did that once, and got a ather long and curse filled rant, like some others have said they've gotten. Don't want to go through it again, esspecially when I just gave them a warning saying "Hey man, just in case you didn't know..."
Why do I "Police" like this? One main reason.. you're not supposed to make characters like that! Another reason is that it is a little insulting. This is mostly for the vets, not for the newbies who don't know better. But if someone makes a clone of.. lets say Deadpool, knowing it's a violation, to me, that's like them saying "See, I can get away with it and you can't".
As for the argument earlier in this thread about how Marvel has people who can look for copywrite infringment, but CoH/V's GM aren't in large enough numbers... well think about this.
In this thread alone, there were a few people who didn't even, or just barley recognised who The Vision is. For some people it was blatant and obvious. With the over 100,000 subscribers to this game, there is a wealth of knowledge, from the obvious, to the obscure. If a GM does see a violation, they might not recognize it as one. A GM might not know who Deadpool is, but if they get a petition in their email saying "There's a guy here who made his toon exactly like Deadpool from Marvel comics." That GM will look up Deadpool, and then view the toon in question.
I notice violations like this every once in a while. The Flash, Wolverine, Green Lantern, Captain America, and even Goku from Dragonball Z. And I report them.
You see them, and you don't report them? That's fine. No one is forcing you to, and if anyone says you're just as bad as the violator, needs to get a life. But don't call me a narc, or a tattletale, or even a jerk because I do report these violations, and I won't call you an apricot. Cause you're not an apricot.*
*Disclaimer: My most sincear applogies to any apricots out there that were offended by my previous statement. I like apricots very much, and just picked a word out of the air to prove a point. In hindsight, I probably should have said handkerchief. Screw those darn snooty little handkerchiefs, and the breast pockets they sit in! -
Only one I got.
Was on a Archery Blaster, and my teammate was an Emp Defender. While I was using Ranged Shot, durring the interupt period, if she buffed me with Clear Mind or Fortitude, my archer stopped the animation for Ranged Shot, his bow disappears, and then takes the buffed animation(Arms as the side, and then stands up straight with his chest coming out like he took a deep breath of air) Then the arrow flies at my target from no drawn bow.
Might have to do with the animation being interupted, durring the powers interupt period, but just figure the arrow being aimed for a spiner shot was more important than the buff animation. -
I haven't used TP Foe much, but I think the only slotting you'd need to get Bosses and Lt's would be accuracy in order for it to hit. The discription says that powerful foes can't be teleported, which is a little vauge. Most likely that would mean Elite Bosses, Arvhvillains, and Giant Monsters, but it could also apply to End mission bosses, buffed enemies(Like when you go through Oroboros missions and select "Enemies are buffed", or when they self buff, or get buffed from minions).
-
It's a minor thing, I know. Currently, if you're a forums vet, you pretty much know that in the Player Help section, there's a forum called "Player Questions" where if I have a question that can be answered easily by the majority of the player base, I can ask there and get an answer.
But newer folks to the forums here don't notice the subtext on the board and go there to ask general questions that sometimes other players can answer, and sometimes, only a dev can answer. Any time the later happens someone will try to point them in the right direction, or say "Only devs can answer that, this board is for asking other players questions."
So I'd like to see the name of "Player Questions" changed to something like "Players asking Players Questions".
Thoughts? -
Something here needs to be cleared up...
Role Playing: To assume the role of a fictional character for the purposses of entertainment.
Pretending(By what War Admiral claims happened to him): To claim to be female, when actually male, for personal gratification.
Lets say War Admiral is correct in his assumption that the two players he mentioned were in fact male. Also assuming that they denied being male, and not just showed up as girl toons, and acted as such, is lying, not role playing.
These two things are not the same.
War Admiral, you have every right to be exclusive in your SG. You want to know the person, and feel they are your friend, and friends are honest(Again, I'm assuming they denied being male). What they did then, was not role playing. I hope that you will be able to seperate that idea, from role playing in your mind. -

The rate at which I have read that purples drop is 1 in 3000-5000.
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe this number is incorrect. Based on my <a href="showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=13157602" target="_blank">Drop Listing & Analysis</a> thread, the drop chance is around 1 in 1500 mobs assuming a mix of Minions and Lieutenants (2 Minions per Lt). That's based on getting 13 drops from around 18,000 mobs (page 4 of the thread).
[/ QUOTE ]
Well if we want to go off of experience, Mine that is, it's is more like a 1 in 500,000 or more chance, cause I have only ever got 4 purples and the 4 I got was junk and only sold for around 4-7 mill inf. And, I havent got one to drop in 7 months.
So the 1 in so mant theory is crap. They drop when they feel like it, and they seem to not ever feel like droping for me.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know, back in the day I used to buy sodas from the local gas station store. Many times I'd see different soda companies running promotional contests, and they'd say "1 in 9 wins!". And the prizes ranged from a free soda, to $25,000. There were times when I collected the bottle caps that said if you won or not, and there times when I would get over 15 in a row that were not winners.
My point? It's an odds game. Just because you might kill 3000 mobs capable of dropping purples, doesn't mean you are garunteed at least 1 drop every 3000 mods you kill. -
I understand what you're saying... but still it doesn't work that way. You might notice when you switch your active build for the first time, all your power trays get emptied. Because you could select 90% different powers from your previously selected Primary and secondary power sets. The game isn't actually assuming you don't need those macros, it's saying "Oh, they're making their character different and has to retrain in all of his/her powers from scratch".
It's kind of the same way that for powers that you do select in both Pimary and secondary builds don't get to use the same enhancements.
If you can make a macro once, it shouldn't be that hard to make it a second time. -

Either Natural, Science, or Mutation.

Is there a list of the new costume pieces somewhere?

Not yet that I've seen. Wait a few days and I'm sure Paragon Wiki will have them. I'd bet there are some who are making them already. -

how do you use changes??? i cant find em
[/ QUOTE ]
In the costume window, down the bottom is a drop down list of change emotes.
They only work on the ground.
[/ QUOTE ]
Right now, it looks like if you use /cc ## to change your costume, the costume change emotes are not working. According to Positron here there will be a post soon from BaB telling us how to use the emotes without going through the menu. -
Objective: As it is now, you have to reselect your powers from level 0. Including spending the time to select the first power in your secondary set, even though you have no choice there, you can't skip that power, and select something else. If this could be changed to work a bit more like a respec to where it's auto-selected for you would make the creation of your first muliti-build on a character a little smoother.
Subjective: The 15 minute timer... honestly when you're -playing- the game, the 15 minute timer isn't a problem, but say you log into a toon, you've got a build for soloing, and a build for teaming. You're on your teaming build, and you feel like you feel like soloing. You switch your build to solo and then you get a tell maybe from a friend, or an SG/coalation mate asking if you want to team, maybe for a badge mission that you've wanted to get in on. Now the entire team has to wait 15 minutes for the switch.
I would think 5-10 minutes would work better, or if there was a way to switch builds quickly provided you haven't used any powers since the initial switch. But I don't know if that's even possible..
Or even Increasing Returns! Heh.. You start on one build, and switch. Wait time is 5 minutes. Then you switch again, and it's 10 minutes, switch again, 15, and all this is tracked in a play session. Obviously a quick work around there would be to log out, and back in to reset that, but... *shrug* Just a couple thoughts. -

I only got one thing to say for this thread. The comment about purples not being added is just a cop out seriously.
[/ QUOTE ]
How is it a cop out? Yeah, he said that it would be too expencive at this time, but he also said, "we decided to omit them from the items on the list at this time. That isnt to say we wont ever add them to it in the future." So that means they might get added later on.
[ QUOTE ]
The thing is I have gotten like maybe 3 purples at the most as a drop since they first went live. I know folks who play their lvl 50s every day and still havent gotten a single purple recipe on their toons.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well... they are called ULTRA-rares...
[ QUOTE ]
Lastly I want to ask is there any chance of a hero villain market merger. That was like the only question I didnt see that you answered that I had.
[/ QUOTE ]
If I had to guess, this wasn't answered because it doesn't have to do with the merits being released in I13, and has been something asked about long before I13 was a tinkle in Positron's eye. Not saying it shouldn't, or that I wouldn't support the merge, but just the possible reason for why it wasn't answered.
