  1. If you're asking for the dayjob badge/power, the police station is hero-side. Villains get the same benefit/power from logging out in an Arachnos base.
  2. Okay, since I'm trying to get my DW badge, and am having problems...

Ran BOTH new Tina, and New Maria arcs, completely. When I finished my badge tracker said 12 of 14. Looking at the list Posi gave us, I didn't remember fighting Diabolique, or Seige in either arc. Went through and did their single mishes from Maria, and neither increased the tracker from 12.

Looking at the the list again, I KNOW I got Anti-Matter, Battle Maiden, Black Swan, Bobcat, Diabolique, Dominatrix, Infernal, Malaise, Marauder, Neuron, Siege, Mother Mayhem

I'm iffy on Chimera, and Nightstar I have yet to do, but will when I go for the Shrouded badge. Unfortunaetly the servers just went down, so I can't check to see if these two are the ones I'm missing or not.

Only reason I bring this up though is because I know I didn't get Siege through the two arcs, but when I did defeat him, my progress bar didn't move, so just wanted to add that in for more player feedback.
  3. Considering I've run upwards of four TFs in a single day.. I'd say you got bugged somehow. Can't say I can give you a reason for why you didn't get your merits for the ITF, but you definately don't get diminished returns for running different TFs in the same day.

When dual builds first came out, this was an issue some people had with it. Not an original suggestion, not a necessary one, as they're giving you something for free, and you're asking for double? Respecs these days seem to be worthless to me. Nearly every issue we get one, we get them as vet rewards, we've got the three trials, you can buy them with cash monies, or inf off the market, you can even buy with with you HAM/VAMs I believe. So many options open, there is absolutely no need whatsoever for the devs to give us two freespecs, not to mention, spend time making it so freespecs stack.

Interesting... since on every alt I've rolled since the new diff sliders came out they all started at x0, and I remember that other random people I teamed with in PuGs said the same thing. I remember that because of how many times jokes were made about how if you're set at x0 then there should be no mobs on the map.

Well, that fixed the problem with the hallways.. but unfortunately my comp is such a piece of crap that even having the Shader Quality on the low setting(Second lowest, as first lowest didn't change anything) that my I couldn't even move from lag.

So other than getting a new comp/upgrading current, anything else that I can do to fix this issue?
  7. After prepurchasers got beta access to GR, I played a couple missions in Nova, just to get a feel for the place. In the missions I noticed the hallways were almost pure white. I thought it was annoying but didn't notice anyone else complain about them.

Then today while patching, I noticed a screenshot someone took, and the hallway they were in looked normal, like it flowed with the rest of the map. I logged in, and started up a new tank. Went into the same mission I had in beta, and my hallways were white still. I run on min graphics settings, so I moved the slider up to performance, and they were still white. Moved it up to recommended, and they were gray, like the screenshot I saw. Took a couple screenshots myself to show what I mean.

    Sorry for the sizes

First one is min settings, second is recommended. I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be this way, but thought I'd come check with some professionals before sending in a bug report. Any idea if this is a known issue?

    Some help...

Perhaps I came in a little defensive.. for some reason my build doesn't seem as effective as soon as I click on the pvp subforum links...

Anyways... while I could, and did scroll through the first three pages of this forum, I did see 4 /regen and two katana/ threads. But that doesn't mean I can take the katan/ portion, and a /regen portion mush them together and get the end result I'm looking for with is a good build that works together. One of those might focus on defense, while the other focuses on +recharge, and then I end up with a lackluster build.

    "kat/regen/sj/ss/leadership/phase/sharks"

Kat/regen is obvious... leadership I can understand the reasoning.. but why do I need both ss and sj? As soon as I enter melee combat TS kicks in, so I'd be just as motionless with one as opposed to both, right? Also, is there a point to getting phase beyond giving myself a few moments to not be attacked? I thought I heard that if two people are phased, then they can still attack eachother. Or was this never put in if I did actually hear about it? Sharks... well that'll have to wait until after GR drops, and if I want to take him redside at all.
  9. Ok, so a general consensus from the replies so far is that the merit increase is not necessary. Ok. Just personally I see it being more of a risk to take down the giant monsters than it is to collect exploration badges. But, I'm willing to let that go.

I still think the Alignment Merit makes sense, and to say it again, a selectable reward between 2 Reward Merits, and 1 Alignment Merit makes the most sense to me. Maybe the devs think an A-Merit would be too much of a reward (A conclusion I came to on my own based on the way A-Merits will be earned once GR/I18 drops).

As for purple recipes... I doubt this could happen, and not sure I'd like to see it happen. Purples are already going to be more accessable with the A-Merits, and to add something like this to GMs, might make them loose their ultra-rarity. If you DO get the single A-Merit from killing GMs, then it will still take some work to be able to turn them in for purple recipes.

And for clarification, no, the Monster Island DE Monsters wouldn't count towards these changes, for the very purpose that they would be farmed.

I like how you post something like this and then call Heroes whiny.
  11. Ok.. lots of people looking, but not commenting... thinking maybe a tl;dr version is needed.

1: Increase merit reward to 5
2: Give a small chance that a recipe from the random rolls drops
    3: 1 Alignment Merit
4: Various changes to make them more appealing. IE: More badges

Also willing to give and take. Make selectable rewards between 1 and 3. Only making one of these suggestions into the game(Devs choice in the end of course, but feedback is wanted) rather than all of them, so as not to destroy risk vs reward.

    Some help...

Well as helpful as that was... I didn't ask je_saist for pvp advise. I came to a pvp board, where pvpers would be. I've been told before that in order to get into pvp in this game, that you have to find someone who'll help teach you the ropes. If you're not someone willing to do that, that's fine. Maybe you're still upset over the pvp changes, and that's your perogative to sit there and whallow, but just because pvp isn't something the devs seem to care about, doesn't mean it doesn't have the potential for me to have fun with it. Honestly, I'd rather get ganked at least once every day I log in, than have to maketeer. I hate the markets and the people who think the markets are a minigame.

So thanks for short "build =" line. The rest was unnecessary.
  13. All that's been said is that there will not be any more slots beyond the 36 available now on each server with the release of GR.

If you have purchased all 36 slots on your server of choice, then your only options are to move charcters to other servers with the free transfers coming up, play on more than one server, delete characters, get another account, or tough it out until the devs decide to allow more slots per server.

It's often been requested down in the Suggestion's and Ideas subforum, but so far we've not seen anything from the devs saying "No, we will never increase the slots per server beyond 36" or "It's not something we're looking at now, but maybe someday down the road..."
  14. I know this topic has been brought up before, especially when I get to the increased merits part of it, but please bear with me.

GMs as it stands now, seems to be lackluster... don't get me wrong. I LOVE finding GMs in their zones, and getting groups together to take them down, regardless of if I've taken them down before, and already got the badge they award. Recently, I was on a Synapse task force, and when we exited the mission that spawns Babbage, one of the team members, asked if we could skip Babbage. No one else wanted to, we put out the call for assistance, and fought him, save for the one who wanted to skip him. They went on to the last mission, and waited, saying they didn't sign up for pointless side missions.

I won't go into the discussion that took place during the last mission, but since that happened, it's gnawed at me a bit. This happened on Virtue, which as we all(or at least most) know is the unofficial RP server. We're playing heroes who's goal is to defeat evil, and keep the city safe, but here was a hero who had no interest in stopping a giant robot from tearing up a large portion of the city. Maybe this hero will turn vigilante or evil into a villain come GRs release, maybe not. But similar sentiments are had with other GMs.

Lusca is constantly ignored, Adamaster is barely heard from, same with Jurassik in Crey's, and when Babbage spawns in Boomtown... well, I've NEVER heard anyone calling out in global channels asking for help to take him down.

So I propose the following changes, in order to help make GMs more drawing of interest.

    1: Increase the Merit award.
--You all knew this was coming, so I'm getting it out of the way first. 2 merits, as has been said many many times before is not enough of a reward for taking down these massive threats to our fair city. I think increasing the merit reward to 5 would be sufficient. Why 5? Any more than that, and I think it would be too much of a reward. 5 merits by themselves aren't so grand that they'd make taking down GMs so important that people would try to farm for them. 5 merits is also a bit of a standard reward for non-TF/SFs or story arc missions. 5 merits is a vet reward, and with the exploration accolades, you get 5 merits for finding all the badges in those certain zones.

2: Add in a chance for a Random Rare Recipe Drop.
--When I say a chance, I mean a small chance. Like.. 2%, that only 1 person of all the possible teams fighting the GM gets a Random Rare Drop. I believe it's called Pool C.. not positive, but from the same pool that you get your random merit rolls from. Then there is standard that they could get any possible recipe from this pool, and it would be from the level range of that particular GM. Like Kraken I believe is assumed to be a level 19 GM, so that recipe drop would be from the 10-19 range. Though if the character that gets the recipe is over the GM level, then the recipe would be at their level, or the highest it goes.

For instance, Jimmy Thorn, a level 35 spines/regen scrapper joins a team to take down Kraken, and he gets the recipe drop. It's a Shield Breaker: Chance for Lethal Damage. That is a recipe that can be obtained in the 10-14 and 15-19 random rolls, but it maxes out at lvl 30. Since Jimmy is 35, the recipe would be at 30. If Jimmy was lvl 28, the recipe is at 28. If Jimmy is lvl 16, the recipe is at 16.

    3: Add 1 A-Merit...
--Now this one I just thought of as I was typing this post, but it makes sense when you think about it. You see Paladin tooling around King's Row, and decide to take him down, that's heroic! If you just walk on by saying "Meh." then you're not quite the hero you should be! If you're running around Cap and see Deathsurge, and you think to yourself "Hey, this is my town to destroy and terrorize" and take him down, you're being a true villain. If you just run past him and wave "Have a good time!" then you're just a jerk.

This would have to be something that would have to be limited. Vigilantes and Rogues would not be able to earn them, obviously, and to prevent farming, limit it the same way buying them are. You can only earn 1 a-merit a day from defeating GMs.

4: Change a few things with them...
4.1With Paladin, have him award a badge when he's defeated. Not just with the stopping of his construction. Call it "2nd time's a charm" with the text reading "Well you weren't able to stop this monster from being created, but you were determined and put a stop his terror."

4.2With Paladin's construction event, add the merit rewards for completing this event. You stopped the Clockworks from creating it, and that should merit a proper reward(Pun intended)

4.3With Lusca, I would say increase the merit award to 8, though I doubt this would happen. Since you have to take down the tentacles before being able to attack the head, Lusca is a bit of a pain. I wouldn't go so far as to say, the merit increase of 5, per tentacle + the head, as that would be far more reward vs risk, but the standard merit reward for this non-standard GM doesn't seem right.

4.4Have Boomtown Babbage, and Synapse TF Babbage award different badges. Boomtown Babbage gets no play, because Boomtown is very rarely visited. If they awarded different badges, then there would be reason for both of them to be taken down. Synapse TF Babbage, because he's in a populated zone, and is attacking the people trying to stop his boss The Clockwork King.

4.5For red side GM's.. not sure what improvements could be made, as Deathsurge is the only one I've ever seen taken down before. Yes, I'm mainly blue side, so any suggestions like these for the redside GMs would be welcome.

Now, looking back I look at all these proposed changes, and compare them to what we have now and I'm thinking... maybe it's too much? So I'm also open to the idea of give and take. Think merit increase is all that's needed? Fine by me! Think that the current standard of 2 merits + 1 A-Merit sounds like a good trade off? I won't argue with you!

In this line of thought I'd even be open to the idea of a reward selection menu popping up, giving you the option to choose between receiving 5 merits, or 1 A-Merit. If you'd already chosen to receive an A-Merit in that day, then the only choice would be the regular merits.

So please, share your thoughts on my proposal!

    Some help...

I have a Kat/Regen scrapper on Freedom right now. I'd transfered him there durring the first round of free transfers early this year because I heard Freedom is where most of the pvp population is, and that regen was a good set for pvp.

But burnout from the game in general, lack of funds to pay my subscription, and other RL stuff has kept me from exploring pvp. So is Freedom still the place to go to pvp?

Also, any build advise for me? I know the pve build I have on him won't work as well in pvp, as well, he'd only ever been slotted with common IOs and SOs. Not saying I need a full mids build(Though that would be nice) but just advise in what I should build for, and the things I should try to slot.

    Thanks

So.. before you go to work, log on, and place your bids...?

    Quote:

Sure! I'd use it if it was brought in. But there would undoubtedly have to be a way to block someone from using the app at the same time that they're playing the game. That way when someone's in a mission, they can't log in on the app, and sell stuff they just got in a drop, or claim something they bid on, and craft it in mission.
  17. I think you're confusing needed with wanted...

While I'm in favor of new MM pets, think about this for a moment.

Issue 6 gave us Ninjas, Robotics, Mercs, and Necros.

    Issue 7 gave us Thugs

Issue 18(Actually GR, but release date is the same) gives us Demon Summoning.

11 issues between the set releases. Concidering we're just now getting DS, I wouldn't count on getting another MM set for... a while.
  18. Don't know why I didn't think of it... but after reading that, I pulled up Mids. It says it has a range of 225, and a radius of 30. Looking at RedTomax, it says the range is 25 with a radius of 30. So I think the radius is how far from yourself the destination point can be.. just a guess though.

Either way, I think you're right about one thing... it's not the power I want. And now I have a reason to run the respec trial!
  19. Ok, so I got team teleport for the first time on a toon for when running speed TFs, and wanting to stealth through missions. However, everytime I use it... well, I'm the only one getting teleported. I've then used recall friend, on someone who has team teleport as well, and then they can summon all our team mates... I'm wondering is there something I'm doing wrong?

Yes, all teammates were in the same zone/mission, once there was one teammate who has died and hadn't rezed yet, was going to after the team tp.

    What am I missing here?

Actually that has been brought up many times. You know that power set we got already called Energy Blast? That was originally a water blast set, but the devs found it looked like crap making it water. So it got tweaked and became energy blast instead. Making the water effects look natural, and like water was not that easy.

As for the time control idea, it's been suggested before, but nothing has really come of it. I don't see it as a bad idea, but maybe flesh it out a bit more.

I did read your post. At no point did you say "This is a consolidated list of the ideas for potential Day Jobs posted in the stickied thread". As for your fallback statement... not everyone reads every thread posted in every section of every forum, so how would someone know you made that statement if they didn't read that thread and relate it to this thread?

For the look and feel of the Day Job... like Ad Astra said, simply write it up in your bio. Gonna drop some knowledge on you now...
    Quote:
Introduced with Issue 13, the Day Job system allows characters to log out from a specific location, like a Hospital or Vault Reserve facility, and gain a temporary power or other benefit when they return to play after an extended period offline. Prolonged offline time in each Day Job is also worth Badges.
If you read that, you'll see Day Jobs are about the benefit you gain from them first, and the badge second. Now that is by design of course, and as a player you might value the badge over the gained ability, but that's you're choice to view it as such. If you want your character to be a Toy Maker, then make him a toy maker. With all the employment types in the entire world it would be impossible for the devs to dedicate sections of the city to each one of them so that you can have your toy maker badge, and someone else can have their Pig Farmer badge, and another person can have Nursing Assistant badge... I could go on, but I think the point is made.

It'd just mean that there'd have to be some kind of unusual defense in place for it to miss. Since a heal failing to go off can be a pretty serious problem for the team, I'd actually rather have it be pretty unusual.
Yes, a heal failing to heal is annoying, and possibly even detrimental to the survivability of the team... but that's a risk you take when you use that power! So again I reiterate...
