Positron's i13 letter: We are trying to make PvP more accessible to new players, while giving experienced PvP'ers the advantage that comes with formulating tactics around the new systems we're putting in place. PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.
Well as helpful as that was... I didn't ask je_saist for pvp advise. I came to a pvp board, where pvpers would be. I've been told before that in order to get into pvp in this game, that you have to find someone who'll help teach you the ropes. If you're not someone willing to do that, that's fine. Maybe you're still upset over the pvp changes, and that's your perogative to sit there and whallow, but just because pvp isn't something the devs seem to care about, doesn't mean it doesn't have the potential for me to have fun with it. Honestly, I'd rather get ganked at least once every day I log in, than have to maketeer. I hate the markets and the people who think the markets are a minigame.
So thanks for short "build =" line. The rest was unnecessary.
lol, easy buddy. Get used to sarcasm if ur gonna hang around pvp forums
Lol.... Dude, if he wanted to be snarky or mean he would've told you to go roll a claws/DA scrap and that all the pvp happens on liberty now. Or he would've corrected your spelling.
But yeah pvp is dead. And you need to take a seat and calm down ----> \_

my disdain for the pvp changes is obvious (did i come on too strong?) but the build advice still stands. with the new APP/PPP cross overs, there is really no point in rolling anything other than a regen/blaster. and regen is stupid easy to play. assuming you have the right pools(taking anything else would be gimping yourself) the minor details of the build can be found agian by using search.
EDIT: looking down this first page and the last 2 pages, there were 6 regen advice/build threads that could be looked at. i put the emphasis on searching because since the changes, every build is the same, just change out the primary.

Also get used to asking for help or opinions and 50 to 75% of the responses telling you that PvP is dead, effd up, retarded etc. Expect to see that sentiment over and over even though it has been that way for a long time and basically most of the posts in this forum say the same thing.
If you have a serious question, probably better off asking some of the helpful people here through PM.
"Forum PvP doesn't give drops. Just so all of you who participated in this thread are aware." -Mod08-
"when a stalker goes blue side, assassination strike should be renamed "bunny hugs", and a rainbow should fly out" -Harbinger-
Perhaps I came in a little defensive.. for some reason my build doesn't seem as effective as soon as I click on the pvp subforum links...
Anyways... while I could, and did scroll through the first three pages of this forum, I did see 4 /regen and two katana/ threads. But that doesn't mean I can take the katan/ portion, and a /regen portion mush them together and get the end result I'm looking for with is a good build that works together. One of those might focus on defense, while the other focuses on +recharge, and then I end up with a lackluster build.
"kat/regen/sj/ss/leadership/phase/sharks"
Kat/regen is obvious... leadership I can understand the reasoning.. but why do I need both ss and sj? As soon as I enter melee combat TS kicks in, so I'd be just as motionless with one as opposed to both, right? Also, is there a point to getting phase beyond giving myself a few moments to not be attacked? I thought I heard that if two people are phased, then they can still attack eachother. Or was this never put in if I did actually hear about it? Sharks... well that'll have to wait until after GR drops, and if I want to take him redside at all.

so, yes, you actually could take a /regen out of a regen build on here and the kat/ out, put them together and probably get a decent build. at the very least, you could do this, and be much better off than you are right now and give people giving you advice an easier job with a build already done.

you're going to want phase because its an exit power. yes, two phased people can attack each other, but very rarely (never) will you have someone phase just to kill you. you'll be phased for 30 seconds which is great for getting away and avoiding spikes since barely any blasters will have phase.
you want sharks. they do hax damage from range in one burst. especially when they crit. and you get hiber in the set as well. with hiber/phase/heals/mog, you literally will never die. its worth taking the toon redside for and back (which i think alltogether going full vill and back is no more than a week, probably less)

Here, 2 builds one with fitness and one without, and I preface this with I don't play a Kat/regen, have never played a kat/regen and made these builds in like 5 mins so use what you want or all or none, but they do have perma dull pain so you are permanently hp capped. Of course they are a very very pricey builds with all the proc's/purples/PvP IO, but I guess they can always be a works in progress. and when GR goes live I would definately switch sides to get mako for hibernate and sharks

I have a Kat/Regen scrapper on Freedom right now. I'd transfered him there durring the first round of free transfers early this year because I heard Freedom is where most of the pvp population is, and that regen was a good set for pvp.
But burnout from the game in general, lack of funds to pay my subscription, and other RL stuff has kept me from exploring pvp. So is Freedom still the place to go to pvp?
Also, any build advise for me? I know the pve build I have on him won't work as well in pvp, as well, he'd only ever been slotted with common IOs and SOs. Not saying I need a full mids build(Though that would be nice) but just advise in what I should build for, and the things I should try to slot.
Thanks
