    There was an Onion article a few years back that talked about the fact that the number of Klingon speakers is now greater than the number of Navajo speakers. I always get a little weirded out when their articles transition from satire to fact.

    You gamers sure do have low tolerances for differing opinions. You should stop trying to take things around here so seriously.

    EDIT: Which is very ironic, because you said you weren't going to take me seriously anymore! Like... you did before? I've never seen you here before. So... yeah!
    Hey, you're the one who got snippy with me for disagreeing with you, but somehow I'm the one who's intolerant of dissent? Buddy, pick one side of the argument and stick with it.

    Shut the door fast enough and the demons don't have enough opportunity to beat on you and bring it to that point, do they?

    And also, framing the argument in terms of debt? Really? You just waived your right to be taken seriously in my book.

    The reward for that risk is simply "elsewhere." To cite one example, you get that big gob of XP for Oranbega portals,which encourages slamming them down asap, and that XP makes up for the Behemoths not being worth anything.

    Sounds fair to me...
  6. Lots of mine are respeccing, but a lot of them aren't going to do it right at the starting gun.

    I want to get a good feel for how inherent Fitness changes the build before I go committing to respecs (a task I'm not too fond of). The only ones I'm doing right away are my characters that utilize d both sides of the dual-build feature (which makes for, IIRC, 2 Defs and a Corr). That way they can use both freespecs.

Didn't your parents teach you to do just that, say "I am sorry" when you were wrong? I know mine did and I teach the same to my own children, it is only right after all.
    So in all this talk of the "grown-up" thing to do, where do we rank your sig, with it's bold-faced colored-text calling out of Positron and then quoting him owning up to being wrong?

    Because to some of us, that could look a little immature...

  11. I think the closest I come to regret is with my Spine scrapper. He was a Sp/Inv at about L41. When I8 launched I wanted someone with which to do the new Faultline arcs. I deleted him and reolled as a Sp/Regen. I didn't strictly regret it, but in my mind I was feeling a little, "Sheesh, the things I'll do to play new content..."

    Beyond him, none of the chars that got deleted were anything I really regret. If they got canned, they were usually some combination of 1) somehow unappealing to me at the time, and 2) low enough level that if I later thought point 1 was the crazy pills talking, I could reroll and make up lost ground with minimal effort.

    "Completely ignore everything?" Step away from the hyperbole... Speaking only for myself, I'm certainly partaking of the live game. But there are definitely things I have put off because of I19 (for instance, I'd rather wait to start my KM Scrapper until inherent fitness takes effect).

  13. Hi there,

    I'm loving what this command is opening up for me! Let me describe what I've got so far and what I'm trying to do...

    I'm using this in one of its most obvious places, MM commands. Below is a sample of the file I'm using to issue commands to my Battle Drones:

    Quote:
    // POPMENU File for setting Battle Drones' aggression and orders.
    //
    Menu "BDrones"
    {
    Menu "&1 Aggressive"
    {
    Option "&1 Attack" "petcompow Drones agg att"
    Option "&2 Follow" "petcompow Drones agg fol"
    Option "&3 Stay" "petcompow Drones agg stay"
    Option "&4 GoTo" "petcompow Drones agg goto"
    }
    Menu "&2 Defensive"
    {
    Option "&1 Attack" "petcompow Drones def att"
    Option "&2 Follow" "petcompow Drones def fol"
    Option "&3 Stay" "petcompow Drones def stay"
    Option "&4 GoTo" "petcompow Drones def goto"
    }
    Menu "&3 Passive"
    {
    Option "&1 Attack" "petcompow Drones pas att"
    Option "&2 Follow" "petcompow Drones pas fol"
    Option "&3 Stay" "petcompow Drones pas stay"
    Option "&4 GoTo" "petcompow Drones pas goto"
    }
    Option "&4 Dismiss" "petcompow Drones Dismiss"
    }
    That's great, as far as it goes. But let me ask this: is it possible to set those keypress options up such that they will respond to either the 1 up on the top row of the keyboard, or the numpad1 key? Barring that, I can replace "&1" with "&numpad1" to make it respond to that key, right?

  16. Hi,

    I just found this guide yesterday, and I must commend you for your excellent work highlighting the highs & lows of the set. I was even about to ask if you were going to update your assessment of Frozen Fists in light of Bruising, and behold!

    As much as I love Ice Patch, I have to confess that I specced it out of my Ice/WP (he's 48, and I do plan to get it back as my last power choice). My reasoning was simple: too many times in PUGs, or just with sloppy players, who decide that the best thing to complement the guys flopping on my Ice Patch is either an AOE knockback or immobilize, thus nullifying my efforts.

    Again, a superb writeup.

See my sig for some of the things I did with my Mind/Fire.
    I've always been curious about that, but I'm finally curious enough to ask. How does a Dom muster enough oomph to reliably punch through the purple triangles without getting splatted first?

  23. Hello,

    Ever since I17 came out, any part of the UI where a character portrait is supposed to show up (easiest examples are the Contacts tab and the Costume change selection interface) show nothing. Just a black box. I've kept hoping this was simply a bug that would get fixed without my having to do anything, but I decided it's time to take action. Can someone tell me what steps I need to start taking to fix this?

    * I tried running in safe mode, I get the same thing.
    * I updated my video drivers right before I17 came out, with the help of a friend who pays a fantastic amount of detail to how to do something like that the right way.

    Any help you can give would really be appreciated.

    Later on,
    Gatecrasher

    This is really a thing? You're not just toying with me?

  25. I don't hate Thunder Strike, but I basically had room for two from the grouping (Jake, Chain, T-Strike). Having the longest animation and recharge of the three, Thunder Strike got the ax.

    Owing to a day at work where I didn't feel like working, I did some tweaking, and I might have upgraded from "train wreck" to "train wreck with possible survivors."
