Yes, some Doms can solo most AV's in the game with some exceptions. Debuffs don't have much to do with it. For success you must have the ability to perma mez AV's through the purple triangles while putting out enough DPS to take them down, it can take quite a bit of time to take down an AV. See my sig for some of the things I did with my Mind/Fire.

as to the OP, doms do get some debuff in the forms of APP and patron pools (such as sleet, melt armor, poison ray, ect), and psi assault doms have drain psyche which is a very good regen debuff, along with this and pets it gets easier for doms to be able to solo almost anything
The mag is pretty simple. With 2 instances of domination up, your mag/duration is up there. If you're able to get enough recharge for 3-4 domination stacks, your controls will go through that 50 mag protection pretty fast.
As for damage: they have damage upclose to blasters and scrappers, with the upside of a button that refills all endurance. This means that attack chain endurance monitoring gets a lot easier.
Peersonally? I cheat. Drain psyche turns the AV regen waaaaaaay down, making damage 'stick' longer. That and telekenisis' toggle with a constant stream of multi-domination magnitude hold helps a lot in preventing the AV from breaking loose. Dropping dominate on top makes this look easy.

Wow. So instead of a full team of controllers, you really only need 2 perma-dominators to control the green mitos in a hami raid?

Damn, some Doms can solo an ITF??? You can put those nictus to "sleep"? And solo Stateman TF?? Mind control?
I would like to see the proof of this.
Well, dominator has Drained Psyche which is a major key in soloing AVs. The -regen makes a huge difference in long fights.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
I dont know about STF yet, but fiery enforcer has links in his sig to pics of him soloing RSF and ITF. Just the other day I made a topic with a pic of me soloing an ITF as well.
/gignore @username is the best feature of this game. It's also probably the least used feature.

No Dom will be able to solo the STF. There's no way you could sleep Lord Recluse while the towers are up, due to the insane amount of defense he gets. Also, not to mention you can't reliably perma confuse a lvl 54 AV, it's hard enough to do it against a lvl 53.
