I'd have to say my Demon/Thermal/Fire Mastery Mastermind. Everytime I run into a mission with Flambeaux, I just say, "Little girls shouldn't play with matches" and let the fire fly.

I know there is a monthly cap as to how much you can put on a single card. This can be set using your Master Account, but the MAXIMUM it can be set to is $250. This is assuming you are using "Card on File", of course.

Quote:Adding to the above list...Most of the time, I really don't care. I don't bother to chase individual targets. You knock 'em they're yours, have fun. But let me just share a few anecdotes.
My DM/EA Brute moves into the middle of a spawn and hits Soul Drain. No buff icons come up because they just got knocked out of range. That's just plain annoying.
My Invul/Stone Tank is plugging along with 30%+ defense feeling all warm and fuzzy when suddenly I start taking a lot more damage because mobs have been knocked out of the range of Invincibility.
My Fire/Shield Scrapper teleports into a spawn greatly harming ten of them with Shield Charge, with Fire Sword Circle and Fireball to clean up anything that has the gall to still be alive. I get that tingly feeling that Scrapperlock causes. I have run well ahead of the Energy Blaster and Storm Defender. That denies them an additional off-tank, but hey they got Knockback!
Fire/Kin Controller hits Transfusion to get a heal off for the melee teammates battling out with a foe, foe gets knocked back, no one benefits from the transfusion. -
Waaaaay back when they introduced Kheldians, they stated the possibility of other epic ATs in the future, either unlocked through some Trial being completed on the account or through attaining a required level. I wouldn't mind seeing something like this. At this point though, I would expect the wall that any new "epic" ATs were locked behind to be one of cash rather than of accomplishment.

Hyperstrike pretty much sums up my thoughts on this as well. There's a reason things are the way they are, it's called "balance". You go arbitrarily shifting numbers around, and it throws everything (not just your own character) out of whack.

I am happy to see you guys doing this again this year. I have supported one of your charities in the past, and will likely do so again this year. Keep up the great work you do. I am sure the charities and those who benefit from them really appreciate all of your hard work, as does a chunk of the CoX community.

Out of genuine curiosity, how would killing off Statesman be a cop out? A cop out is usually when someone does the absolute minimum or tries to wiggle out of delivering at all. If it were Miss Liberty who was the answer to "Who Will Die", that would, indeed, be a cop-out because it's a minor character that no one really cares a great deal about anyway. I don't see how killing off the face of Paragon City qualifies though.

Excellent work. Really enjoy seeing the work that goes into bringing the vision to life.

Quote:Understand, there is a difference between "/petcom_all dismiss" (which is the same as clicking your dismiss button on your pet controls) and "/releasepets". The first doesn't work if your pets are frozen. The second one does.Hard to understand the fact that release pets does not always work huh? I use it..it does nothing. AKA..it is NOT a fix, bro. Hardly a big deal when each time you zone you have to resummon. Also, you need to check your terms. This is not a quick fix. Since you know..a fix would..FIX said bug from happening?
Also, let's look at your 'only 10 seconds wasted' a bit closer hmm.
Demon Summoning.
Summon demonlings, 4 seconds
Summon demons, 4 seconds
Summon demon prince, 4 seconds
Upgrades, 2.17 and 2.07 seconds
Need a calculator? Or are you just rounding down? Hey look..now my post is constructive!
As for the time it takes to resummon the pets, up until relatively recently, that's the way pets worked period. Every time an MM entered (or exited) a mission or crossed zones, if they wanted their pets, they needed to resummon and rebuff them. In fact, it was, once upon a time, even worse because you had to put both pet buffs on each pet individually, so multiply your buffing time by six and you have a general idea of how painful it was to try to keep up with a team who was speed running everything.
When they added the change to allow pets to zone with their owners, it introduced some bugs. One is the elevator bug which I (and someone else) mentioned already. Another was that when you zoned you could lose control of your pets. Your pets would still be there. They would still follow you around (in defensive mode), but you had absolutely no control over them and couldn't resummon replacements.
They fixed that, and when they did, we got the current bug. So, yes, it has been a painful process, however, at the end of the day, we're really not any worse off than how pets used to work in the first place. Somehow, I get images of Maxwell Smart and the "Cone of Silence", which always had some new bug in it every time he insisted on using it. -
Just out of curiosity Ashannah, what server is this on? There are a number of abandoned SGs on both the Red and Blue sides on most servers, many with well-established bases, but only one or two active members. It is quite possible you may be able to find someone willing to welcome you and your compatriots with open arms, sharing (or outright handing over) leadership, and saving you the time of starting over from scratch.

Quote:YEAH! That's what rookies are for, to crawl around in the sewers, dig through dumpsters, and other messy stuff that seasoned veterans shouldn't be wasting their time on.I can't go down there, I hate sewers! They smell like poo gas!
Just because I'm a super hero doesn't mean I have to smell poo gas...
In all seriousness though, especially now that the starting content is mostly open-world stuff, if you are running in a team, it's sort of pointless to team up for it. In fact, if you do, you are going to finish the arcs before you qualify for the next set of arcs offered to you. The spawn sizes and difficulty can't auto-adjust (or be manually adjusted) like the old starting content.
This is one of the reasons that I was sort of disappointed to see them go to the open world format for the starting content. After reading the explanation from Second Measure laying out why this was done, I understand it, and I accept it, but I still don't really love the idea.
For low level teaming, the sewers or AE (not necessarily AE farms, but just AE in general) are really your only viable options. Once you get past the initial stuff and can start running radio missions in KR or newspapers in PO, that changes, but until then you're sorta stuck. -
This game is 7 years old and counting. As you pointed out in your original post, for most of that time the Heroes were mostly infallible. Every citizen of Paragon City (except those who were explicitly members of enemy groups) were perfect, law abiding, citizens who could never be corrupted. Longbow overstepping their bounds? Never happened. Couldn't happen. They were heroes. They were perfect.
On the other hand, from their inception, any of the villains could be effortlessly tricked, duped, thwarted, and laughed at and no one raised an eyebrow. Even if you, as a player, saw it coming a mile away, your character was still idiotic enough to fall for it (Willy Wheeler arc anyone?).
It was time for a change. If you know going in that the heroes are always going to win it gets quite boring, quite quickly. Adversity and the possibility that things may not always go well adds flavor to the game. -
A resounding, no from me as well. I absolutely despise windows with ads, surveys, etc popping up in my face. This is especially true if it is something I am paying for. Now I would support (and likely participate in) a survey done through the forums, or in a forum post with a link to one of the survey sites on the net, just don't force it down my throat and allow me to do it at a time of my own choosing.

Quote:Initially, the plan was to have those who use a multi-month subscription get all of their reward tokens on the front end, as soon as they paid for their subscription. Due to some sort of internal issue with it, they haven't been able to do that, yet, but it is still the ultimate goal, AFAIK.I want store coins for some costume parts. It would be great if I could pre-pay for next month VIP and get next month's coins now. I would gladly prepay for some months to get a bunch of coins early.
In the mean time, if you purchase Paragon Points (same cost as a month subscription), you get an appropriate number of reward tokens immediately. What you could do is pre-purchase a block of those to sit on for stuff you may want. -
Because no one wins if there aren't 50 qualifying replies.

Quote:I don't necessarily believe the mistake was in combining the maintenance and the patch, I think the mistake as doing it during the regular maintenance time (a Thursday), instead of the regular patching time (a Tuesday). If they had done both the Maintenance and the Patching on a Tuesday, the recovery time would be the same was the current practice of patching on Tuesdays.Sappphire, I think thats why you may never see another maintenance/Publish combo again- the window of disaster recovery is too small. It was a nice idea to limit downtime but it just has too much potential to blow up.
NCSoft/Paragon has had things go wrong when patching on Thursdays in the past, and when I saw they were patching yesterday, I assumed, wrongly, that they were patching to address some problem that required immediate attention. Guess I was giving them too much credit in this case.
Still, I think the idea of combined patching and maintenance is a solid one for reducing downtime, it just shouldn't be done late in the week. -
Quote:Well, I can tell you that running in Windowed mode and clicking on a different process seems to have the same effect. As for ALT-Tabbing, I found that in full screen ALT-Tabbing would sometimes cause the process to freeze entirely when I went back. WindowKey-Tabbing did NOT seem to cause the freezes, but did lead to the flashing. All of this is, of course, assuming it is the process switching which is causing it, which seems to fall in line with my experience as well.I have been told that alt+tabbing makes it worse, which seems to fall in line with my experiences. I alt+tab quite a bit. Not sure if I set my second monitor back up and just clicked out of the window if I would get the same effect - that is, I don't know if it's the actual alt+tabbing or just temporarily changing which window you're focused on.

Quote:Gahhh... I saw the build was the same, so was really hoping. I can play for a while, but after a couple of hours, the flickering/flashing begins and gets worse and worse until eventually I can't see anything at all without a reboot, which is not always feasible. As of last night, no the flickering graphics/flashing and lag/FPS drop bug fix had not made it to the live server, which makes me a sad raptor. I am really looking forward to this fix. I count myself fortunate that I have thus far had remarkable patience with the bug.. I get so little time to play that I dare not sacrifice any of it for anything short of "literally unplayable" (like during the Chaos Event of 2009). 2-5 seconds of <1FPS with occasional 10-second bursts, with 10 seconds to 2 minutes of normal gameplay is ... well.. just barely bearable.

Or perhaps it's just that they are releasing the patch on Tuesday because it's their regular patch day. Some people need to make up their minds, either Paragon Studios is evil for taking down the servers for unexpected patching or they are evil for waiting until patch day. Damned if they do. Damned if they don't.
Another possible explanation is that they want to give the fixes a day or two to simmer on the test server before they hit live to make sure the fixes work.
Maybe it's a combination of the two. Maybe I'm completely wrong and they holding back just to push you over the brink and watch you go into complete mental breakdown. -
