Actually, when you get right down to it, that was pretty cool.

There will be another one next month.
Or an old one that has been gone for a while will resurface.

    Anyone else miss Power?

    No.

Were a poll to go out, I think you'd be surprised how many people on the forums identify as something other than a vanilla heterosexual.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Is that a crack about being white and straight?

    Just kidding! Just kidding!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I hope not- I'm both. That's hardly all I am, though.

Best part of this thread for me was the community as a whole. Coming out and rallying around a lifestyle that for the most part they do not agree with or partake in. However they defended its rights over sheer stupidity.

    [/ QUOTE ]

From looking at these threads, I'm not sure people understand exactly how large a part of this community the LGBT is...it's share is far larger than many seem to realize...

...maybe it's the fact that it's NOT flawnted (sp?) all about like so many seem to expect it to be.

    [/ QUOTE ]

More than just the LGBT community, the 'Deviant' society as a whole is, well, large enough that it probably no longer deserves to be considered abnormal.

I wonder what Mod08 is doing.

Something so epically awesome, it fails to be describable in words. Like, so real-life super hero stuff, or something. He's off saving the world.

That or he's got as morbid a sense of humor as we do, and he's waiting to see how far this thing'll go.

Where the hell were you when Silver Mantis was added into the game?

Yeah, didn't think so. Grow up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh hey, I forgot about her. So Domi's not the only one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Domi's pretty tame. Her objectionable stuff is all subtext. Silver Mantis is, well, text.

    It's also hawt.

  11. A RikTF, to be precise.

But, let’s take a step backwards. View it from a fresh perspective, and with some background information. I’m told that makes stories more interesting.

It began, strangely enough, at night. I logged on to my Night Widow –Belbe, level 24, Virtue server. She’s looking for a team, in case you’re interested.– and I ran a mission. I do that a lot, because it’s Redside, and there are never any teams Redside unless you make them yourself. I hear it’s something to do with Devs hating Villains, but it could just be my lazy [censored] running stuff in Sharkhead, instead of a zone that actually has people.

    Who knows?

Anyhow, after five minutes of waiting around, I began to get bored quick-like, when a message pops up in Virtue LFG Alpha, or some other similar global, about a RikTF starting that needs just one more person. Now, it’s been some time since I ran a RikTF, and I had wanted to play my Widow, but my memories are favorable, and I’m really, really bored. It’s been a whole five minutes, after all.

So, I responded that I had a character available, that I was willing to help out, and switched over my Scrapper –Noble Intent, level 50, Katana/Regen, Virtue Server. He’s usually busy.

I joined up with the team, said my Hellos, and proceeded to get oriented. ‘S been a while since I’ve been on, and even longer since I’ve been on Noble Intent in particular, so I was a wee bit out of stride. Also, I just returned from school, so I’m using an ergonomic keyboard instead of a laptop to type, so it was all sorts of interesting.

I missed, however, in my warm-up phase, that the TF had already started, and that the mission was up. I headed on over to the door, and zoned in to find the team already beating up the first set of mobs. Mentally kicking myself in the head –being late to the first mission because I’m too busy getting into shape is not how I like to start TFs. Especially not Pick-Up ones.– I found a not-dead yet mob, and began hacking away. It died really fast, but I chalked that up to the team having good momentum, and perhaps the mob being debuffed. So we moved on to the next group. And, again, I almost felt like a third wheel. Things were dead so fast, I was feeling like I barely contributed to the kill.

Now, as it happens, I was barely contributing, because I’d been Speed Boosted and hadn’t realized it, and was running Sprint, so I was moving way faster than normal, which destroyed my positioning. When I realized this, I stopped Sprinting, and my positioning improved. I then started playing like a bit more aggressively, and fit right into the flow. The first mission went smoothly. The Clockwork King and his entire group dropped in under a minute.

That isn’t the cool part, though.

No, this is still all background information. The cool part is in mission 2.

See, like all good little /Regen Scrappers, I monitor my positional defenses, and a few times during the first mission they got a little high. Nothing exceptional, but I was running around with 60% for a couple mobs, which was quite nice. Then mission two came along, and this happened.

No, it’s okay. Take your time. Come back when you see it.

    (Pst! It’s right here!)

‘S right. My defense was almost one hundred percent higher than the soft cap.

Needless to say, I joined the TF to kick [censored] and chew bubblegum, and I conveniently left the bubblegum behind. And I exaggerate not at all when I say that is exactly what happened.

So, a-hem. If you decided tl;dr somewhere back near the top, the skinny is: I joined a PUG RikTF, and the people on it were all skillful and awesome, and I am also awesome. You may now regal me with tales of your own bodacity, or bow in worship.

    Either one is good.
  12. Someone mentioned in the old thread that the game currently can't tell the difference between a buff and a debuff. which would mean that, as things stand, the devs would have to hardcode each and every power to be 'droppable', no? That seems like a lot of work.

There are children who play the game...it's hard to tell online but the behaviour gives it away. So I think Lowbie Sidekick would not have been capable of the type of thinking/persuasion to get himself his pack.

My first complain about the legs in game is that they are too long, which tends to make characters look very 1992. I always set leg length sliders to minimum, regardless of which physique settings and size I use

    [/ QUOTE ]

Same here. Even minimum length looks a bit odd to me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I disagree. I tend to use very long legs, because my legs are fairly long, and I tend to proportion characters similar to myself. That said, I'm very tired of using baggy pants and some form of tight boots.
  15. Nemesis' greatest successful plot was convincing the world he was a capable, intelligent strategist. I remain unconvinced he's anything more than a decent improvizationalist with some technological powers.

  22. To the OP:

There is a group at there to be aware of, especially on these forums: the folks who can solo AVs, (True definition be damned! Grow up already, will y'all?) but don't really want to. My build, for example, is durable enough, and puts out enough damage that I could, eventually, take down most AVs. It'd take a good twenty minutes minimum, though, and it'd be fairly dull otherwise, so I choose to measure my ePeen in different ways, but it's still possible.
