You get a small amount of easily worked off XP debt after level 10 for being defeated. Half your xp goes to paying off the debt till its gone.

Welcome to the game. As far as solo-friendly goes, I've played for 4 years and haven't gotten around to trying team play yet.

People once believed that when someone dies, a moderator carries their post to the land of the forums. But sometimes, something so bad happens that a terrible troll is carried with it and the post can't rest. Then sometimes, just sometimes, the moderator can bring that post back to put the wrong things right.

Are you downloading just the patcher and then running that? Cause quitting the patcher shouldn't make you start over from the beginning.

Stacking holds with an Ice/Ice blaster should make any boss a walk in the park. My 50 Ice/Ice hasn't even seen half of the attacks in the game due to bosses only ever getting one shot off at me.

This is tangential, but when I re-upped my trial account (as a second account) a couple of years after it lapsed, the characters I created during the trial were gone - and yes, I looked everywhere. As stated, CoH is an unusual game in that it has active players in all level ranges. The only thing vets have the new players don't is the veteran rewards which you can definitely get by without.

Freeze Ray is available at lvl 8. I'd suggest taking it then.
Chilling Embrace and Shiver do the same thing, just AoE vs ranged. Although the -14% damage debuff is nice on Chilling Embrace. I wouldn't recommend getting them both, but its not a big deal if you do. -
I have the converter for the N64 controller and it IS the greatest controller ever.

I've noticed this behavior across all level ranges. Every once in a while the last mob will turn and run after taking any kind of damage. And not just run out of melee range, They will run all the way across the map if you let them.

The dead are rising by themselves. Time to break out the automatic weapons.
