  1. Back to back Hami raids last night got me 15 total shards. 1 of those was from unlocking the Alpha slot. 15 seemed to be the limit as quite a few people that stayed for both Hami's had exactly 15 shards and no one had more.

Now the scrappers is bored because he doesn't have anything to fight, so Wormhole over another group of enemies. But that scares blaster, so turn on hurricane so he has some room to breathe. But now the enemies are scattered so summon your tornado as far away as you can to reign them end. Oh on tornado is going crazy, so counter it with a Water Spout.

Now consume the whiskey, and wait for dim shift to recharge.
Ok, while I would not want to be on that team, it did make me LOL!
  3. I could not agree more, I'm sick of using Posi's on every targeted AoE.
  4. Ya know I saw a "Captain Knockback" in Talos yesterday and all I could think was "Man, he must have a hard time getting a team!"

I actually like the concept and think it might be fun to play solo but I'd expect to be avoided like the plague. Im prolly gonna take some heat for this but when I have the star, I avoid Kelds, Stormies, and Energy blasters as much as possible. I'll admit I have seen some players use these sets to great effect and be a benefit to a team, however, I have seen far more just make a mess of mobs and get ppl killed or at the very least slow the whole team down a great bit.

Now if u put together a KB superteam where every member of the team was doing KB, that might be fun, chaotic but fun.

To answer your original question though, no, I would not team with Captain KB under normal circumstances. Sorry....

This way after the smoke clears, the room is nearly done and no one moved anywhere (except you), getting more use from stationary buffs and debuffs and keeping agro off the squishies.
I love this tactic. I used to have my tank buddy pick a spot and I'd rad pull a whole room to the team. By the time I come back with another mob the team is down to 2-3 baddies from the previous mob and the tank can easily grab aggro off me plus I'd immob when they gathered around the tank so they were not going anywhere anyway. It makes things go very fast! I really don't see this tactic used very often though and I dont know why. Perhaps folks have just gotten to used to the "Charge!!!!!" method.
  6. Would u be willing to trade for a PvP +def IO?? I needs me some intangibility!
  7. I agree with the rest here, this is a great idea and I really see no downside. Something like this would make me use my second build

I think it's the PvP IOs are the ones that are 30 Amerits
I think purple sets are only about 20 Amerits

So it would be closer to 100 AMerits for 5 purps
    @ 1.5 /day => about 67 days or so for a set of 5

Also consider that in the course of events, a purple may well drop.
True but if you run your tips on a few toons you cut that time down by a good bit. I have been getting my tips done on 3 toons in about 1 - 1.75 hours. That even leaves time for a TF or 2 after
  9. I hear ya man, every time I log off and get a pre-download, I'm all "OOoohhhh maybe it went live!!!" So I log back in and its not live so I die a little inside

rad and ta both go well with it as well...

I suspect you'll hate storm... storm pretty much clashes with everything electric is trying to do... as weird as it sounds there is almost no synergy between the two sets.
I am firmly in the Electric/cold camp. I recently hit 50 with mine and even with just SOs he is awesome. What others have said is true, the damage is not mindboggling but you really have all the time in the world to defeat your foe. Everthing is slowed, slept, held, end drained, confused, held or falling on their ***. Benumb if a fantastic debuff and I like to ice shield my pets, it make them much more formidable. Heat loss is the bomb and and turns you into a sapper from hell. There are few things as satisfying as watching a boss just stand there because he has no end. Sadly you cant end drain actual sappers.

looks really interesting, probably just a text bug, but which one?
my guess is that because of its chain effect it can hit no more than 2 targets at once (i.e. when it jumps from one baddie to another) and will continue to chain for up to 15 targets.

    also........ AWESOME!!

So, with that disclaimer, I think the best AoE control is Earth, hands down. The least control is Fire (However, Fire does the best AoE damage because of Hot Feet). Something that has strong control and decent damage is Plant, because of Carrion Creepers.

The one that is almost anti-control, to me, is Illusion. I say this, because the powers are sort of a grab bag of stuff that seems mostly unrelated. So, in play, I face off on some huge group (because I solo my Illusionist at +0/x8), I fire off my Confuse power, then Phantom Army, and suddenly stuff is flying EVERYWHERE. In a minor panic, I fire off holds and fears and whatever crap I can pull out of my hat, as I pray my death is a quick and painless one. Then, before I've fired off half of my tricks, I look up and everything is dead, and I have no idea why.

    YMMV

For secondary, I can't really give the best advice - I almost always end up with a debuffer, Rad or Kin for preferrence. You absolutely cannot go wrong with rad or with kin, whatever flavor primary you have. In my case, I really disliked playing my empathy secondary toon, as it was so labor intensive, I often couldn't actually control much of anything to prevent all that damage I spent all my time healing! A frustration of grrrrr-worthy proportions! This has soured me on buff secondaries, perhaps irrationally so. The buffs (AM + Healing Aura for Rad, and Speed Boost + Inertial Reduction for kin) usually don't intrude on my control ability (though I will forgo IR on big teams, unless specifically asked - Speed Boost alone keeps you pretty busy).

I agree 100% with what you said here. I have alot of trollers and I'd say my earth/rad provides the best control. Nothing gets a chance to hit you, downside is that it does not do a great deal of damage. I have 19 damage procs in my build to make it a bit more of a killer. Damage aside this is a very fun toon to play. Ice/rad is similar but earth beats it out a bit.
  13. Well that doesn't seem fair. I'd contact support and send them that screenshot since it illustrates the issue perfectly. Hardly seems fair since once it takes the WW fee you would be back under the inf cap.
  14. Holy crap! That looks awesome! Thx for link
