Fair enough. Make a fourth option: grenades. Thrown by hand in the case of DP users, fired from the gun in the case of AR users.

This is just an idea to make Trick Archery more useful for combinations with non-Archery powersets.
Rename the set "Trick Ammo".
Now make it possible to select whether we want to use the trick ammo with a bow, an assault rifle or dual pistols.
Make a few new animations to go with the assault rifle and dual pistol options.
Voilá, an old powerset that previously only worked well with one other powerset is now working well with three powersets, without causing stupid amounts of redraw and without looking silly. And it's instantly much cooler. -
I'm pre-nominating Storming Citadel, Arc ID 379488 as well, so consider this my seconding that nomination in case it doesn't win Aeon's challenge.
-
So what did he do to warrant only one star? From what you just said it would seem like the arc deserved at least three.

Thanks for the review.
A few people have commented on that first mission. I think it's pretty obvious that the lab is under attack by Snakes trying to recover the eggs that have been stolen, possibly to be used as ingredients in the NutriPaste. I don't want to spell out that they are used as ingredients, it's more fun to make people guess.
Dr. Aeon is of course used to his laboratories being invaded by hostiles and on fire, and is also the typical absent-minded mad scientist who doesn't pay much attention to his surroundings when he's thinking about something else. He merely mentions that he could have defeated the snakes himself if he had remembered to recharge his power armor last night.
I think the conversation between the snakes and Dr. Aeon when he's rescued explains most of it. Maybe I should try to make it more clear. -

Awesome.
I think (one of) the best criteria that can be used for judging this competition is whether you would want to play the presented character or not. That said I realize that the Liefeld Phalanx has no chance of winning, but I didn't really expect it. I also realize that I'd like to play almost all of the Fantasy Phalanx characters. -
Quote:My "Smiley Face/Relevance Inversion Theory" is still holding water.Got proof? Or is this just another "Make a post that sounds like I might have some sort of inside info when I don't, and add
to the end to confuse the matter more" post? I mean, the poor OP is unjustly angry as it is; don't give him false hope that will only be dashed upon the rocky shores of reality.

I'm terribly sorry for all this. Don't hurt me. -
Huh.
First, thanks for the review, it's been quite enlightening.
I won't go into much detail since you seem to have got the gist of what I was trying to do.
Just wanted to say that this was not what I had intended for the final mission. I guess I will have to do something about it. I didn't think anyone could get to Creed without finding and saving Geist first - he's always showed up in the very first room on all my test runs. I didn't remember Creed being a required objective but I suppose he must be. I think the failure debriefing talks about Geist going to hospital because it was the debriefing you were supposed to get if Geist got killed. Creed gets away no matter what, thanks to an emergency teleporter. I'm sorry that you got a "bad run" on that mission but like I said, it's never happened to me.
I haven't tested it on a higher difficulty setting. That might have messed up the spawns. I've done most of my testing with a level-appropriate VEAT just to make sure that the arc is fine for the intended audience.
Thanks again for the review, I will make sure to fix this problem soon. -
If our enemies showed any kind of intelligence they would just start running as soon as they saw us, and never stop. That doesn't sound like much fun.

Blasters have a stealth power in Devices. I don't know what a non-suppressing stealth power is. As far as I know they are all suppressed when attacking. I wouldn't mind a stealth power in Self Defense if we can't get anything cooler, but I'd rather get something that isn't available in a power pool.
-
We can always ask. The rest is up to the devs.
-
Someone suggested the name Self Defense when we discussed this in the beta testers channel last week.

Quote:They do make all character models the same: collections of costume pieces attached to a skeleton. (More or less.) But since the majority of NPCs aren't built as character models it doesn't really solve anything. i wonder how much it would affect game performance if every NPC was built like a character instead of being a single model.
... I thought that was exactly what I just said. -
No, that's definitely a problem.
We always want all the NPC costumes, they should just make all character models the same so we can all use everything. Chop chop, get to it. -
I would want all my MA arcs to be canon - indeed I try to write them so they could be dumped straight into the real game. Out of the arcs I've written I guess my latest VEAT arc, "The Warburg Connection" would make a good canon arc.

Is That A Club In Your Pocket Or Are You Just Happy To See Me?
Arc ID: 374975
Level: 5-10
Keywords: Easy, Canon Related
Morality: Neutral
It's the anniversary of Pocket D's opening and you're gonna party all night long. Instead you find DJ Zero sitting on the curb outside the entrance to the club... This can't be good.
I'm planning to enter this into the challenge but any feedback I can get before I send it off will be appreciated. Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone else who's in the run. -
I figured I should bump this a bit and also announce the fourth of my VEAT arcs. It has been published for a week or two but hasn't got much attention yet:
The Warburg Connection
Arc ID: 364832
Level: 30-40
Alan Desslock needs your help to handle some business in Warburg. What at first seems like normal spying and bloody murder turns out to be something much more personal. [Designed for VEAT play; other ATs play at their own risk. Contains EB/AVs.] -

I buy everything from the NC store, why would I go anywhere else to pre-order? It just doesn't make sense. And I too want to be able to pre-order online straight from the makers of the game, thank you.
-
Farm and if it's the one I think it's also abusing an exploit with enemies who won't fight back.

One thing that I actually liked about Champions was the crafting. Tearing apart stuff to get random material which I could recombine into new stuff. It was addictive and fun. I would love to see something similar in CoX. It made me imagine that I was actually researching and inventing things instead of just following blueprints that other people had created for me.
I wouldn't just stop with recipes either. I'd like to be able to pull apart Enhancements and see what makes them tick, so to speak. And not just IOs either. Let us reverse engineer SOs, DOs, Hami-Os and so on, for salvage. Training enhancements probably shouldn't be included.
If possible they could make enhancements that we find as drops different from the ones we buy in stores, and only let us reverse engineer dropped enhancements. There's already precedent, sort of, in Yin's Store in faultline where we can buy SOs that aren't the same as normal SOs and which can't be sold to other stores.
Finally, when we respec we could choose to get influence from the left-over enhancements, or we could choose to uncraft them.
