    It's as simple as:

"For six years City of Heroes has been the most popular and widely acclaimed MMORPG of super powered heroes and villains."
Or you could do what they did, which is to put a prominent URL in the ad, which I think works just fine.

Ha, and this week all of them had the Desdemona ad. Nice.

Edit: Of course by this week I mean last week -- we didn't get down to the comic book store to grab last week's pull list until Saturday...
  5. The Maelstrom one was in all my DC books, so I'm guessing you're right, that's the DC one. I don't read Marvel...
  6. It seemed like there was a GR ad in every single comic book I got last week! Here's one of them:

Yeah...I ran into this one last night. Fortunately, I could continue the Loyalist Responsibility arc and that got me up in level to where Calvin gave me the starting Neutropolis Warden contact. But I haven't been given one of the 'moral choice' missions since Nova.

Could a dev clarify this remark? It seems to contradict an answer given during the last Q&A that stated switching sides would allow a villain AT that swithced to hero, to gain access to hero epic pools if that character respec'd.

This seems to imply that epic/ancillary power pools are locked to AT regardless of side, and for those toons created post I18, there are new pools created? Is this correct, and did you guys change the plan since the last Q&A?
AT =/= alignment. For ATs that didn't have APPs prior to I18 (villain ATs), new APPs are being created for them.

It looks like all ATs will get APPs when they hit 41 regardless of alignment, and that any AT with a villain alignment can run the patron arcs to gain access to the patron pools, but can then switch back to hero and still pick from those powers. At least, that's how it translates to me.

As much as I would love to be able to upgrade my measley Thursday & Sunday 1-Day passes to a full 4-Day pass, and as willing as I would be to pay hundreds of dollars to do so, it just seems waaaaay too risky to send a stranger on e-Bay that kind of money and trust them to show up, stand in line to get the badge, and then hand it over to you.
Keep your eyes on the SDCC Twitter account (@Comic_Con); I got a Sunday 1-day pass last year in June because they started putting up refunded/returned passes on eBay in batches. I believe last year was the first year they did that, and it worked really well!

I believe Naq's referring to the fact that some of the M&G's have been in restaurants that are 21+ only. So the request isn't necessarily for extra care for minors, it's to not restrict the gathering to 21+ only.

There has been plenty of discussion on the barriers of getting to Hero-Con in the forums in past years. Yeah, yearS - plural.
But I'm guess I should be glad that the point has finally gotten across...
I believe the issue wasn't that the devs didn't understand why more people couldn't make it to HeroCon. The issue, that was clarified at PAX East, was how many people they could reasonably get to come to one of these M&Gs. The turnout at PAX East (which, people physically showing up >>>>> people saying they will on a forum post) convinced them that it was valuable, both for the players and the game, to make these appearances at cons around the country.

I'm nearly positive the 5th location will be in the middle of the country somewhere (it just makes sense).

Just out of curiosity, where are you getting that 3 of the 5 events will be in California? There's PAX East (Boston), PAX West (Seattle), Northern California M&G (California), San Diego ComicCon (California), and 5th yet-to-be-named location. The BayCon appearance was confirmed by Ocho to not be the 5th M&G.

Unless they just posted the 5th one somewhere and I missed it? Quick search doesn't show anything new on the announcement front...

Way to miss the point of this entire announcement.

I'm in NorCal, but I'd throw out another vote for Chicago or Dragon*Con -- give the Midwest or the South some love!
  15. If you go to the tailor, go into the powers customization and click on the power, you can see the animation/effects as they will look when you use it.

With Hell on Earth, one of the effects is that your whip wraps around the demon you have targeted, and they do the squirm-while-held emote, not sure if that would show up there. But everything else should (the Living Hellfire imps, the whip emote, etc).
  16. On my fire/rad corr, my flawed clone was a Ninjas/psi blast mastermind. She held out long enough for me to get almost all the traps, and then died.

That would be a ... prohibitively long list, I think.

I didn't even think of that, Khel, but it makes sense. A new character started in Praetoria will hit 20 and go to either the Isles or Paragon, and immediately get one of these new contacts with the new branching choice/dialogue text.

    It's all coming together!

What other contacts give you missions at all levels? Why should this one be different?

Yes, all of the new arcs are in Ouro in the 25-29 range. If you have a character in range, the contacts will appear to you when you hit 20 and the arcs will be available from 20-29 (maybe 30 also, not sure though). You know, like how all the other contacts in the game have level ranges their arcs are gated to?
  22. I'm on Virtue, Protector and Victory and I'm having the issue too. Every alt I checked, power customization reverted to default in all but the first costume slot.

Ugh, I really hope they can fix this because I do NOT want to have to go through and try to redo all of that.

True. Didn't think of that, because I still don't understand why people want the option to refuse any of these (with the exception of hardware/video card-related Speed Boost issues).

Another possibility would be another option to reject all non-team buffs. That way you could stop hit-and-run spammers without affecting team play.
Except that the people who complain about Speed Boost/shields/fortunes/etc don't seem to care who's buffing them or when (at least the most extreme ones), they don't want them ever.

The only workable solution is for there to be an option with two values: decline or accept all friendly buffs. A popup dialog for all buffs is simply not a viable option.
Looks like this one's in the hands of the engineers now. And I do think it's the most viable and the one most likely to satisfy the greatest number of players.

Castle, would it be possible to have the option to either auto-accept always or auto-deny always? Leaving out the prompt option? It's still not perfect, but maybe a better compromise.
