    This is true. You can actually softcap with using reg SO's or common IO's and the steadfast protection res/def.
  11. Red Fortunes will get you more Ranged Def. You want ToD for melee.

    This took about 3 minutes to put together.

    Of course it's over the soft cap on all three positions and you still get to choose your own incarnate slots. Also has hurl for a ranged attack and spring attack for a little extra AoE goodness.

    Nothing super expensive? What about a cpl of IO Sets?

    I have a Fm/Inv brute myself that I love! LOVE! I started with some Touch of death sets until I could afford some Kin Combats, then upgraded.

  16. I have found my Fm/Inv brute to be an absolute monster. He is softcapped to s/l/n/e with only 1 foe in range, has 2 self heals in Dp and rebirth, and does pretty well in the damage department.

    Fm puts out a good amount of damage, as the DoT's are effected by fury. Granted, the only AoE he has is fsc, but I am currently trying to build a way around that while stll being end sustainable for soloing av's and pylons.

    Willpower would be a strong contender as well. Once you get your def softcapped, you are backed up by great regeneration and decent resists. The only issue I have with Wp is the lack of a self heal, but that can be fixed with rebirth.

    I honestly havent gotten around to Incarnate stuff with any of my other melee toons.

    Completely agree to turning TF into TS. I giggle everytime I use TS. However I don't like ElM either, so I rarely use that power.
  18. It has occured to me that over the last couple of months, every toon that I roll up, is invulnerability. Every time I start to build a toon in mids, I think to myself, "Bet I could do better with Inv."

    Is anyone else like this? Should I schedule another appointment with my therapist?

    Fm/Inv critique

    I'm no good at multi-quoting, so there are responses to multiple folks in here.

    1.
    Personally, I don't find the need for Resist Elements and Resist Energies that early. I would want my travel before lvl 49. If you exempt to do any TFs losing your travel might be a pain. I'd swap Super Speed and one of the Resist E powers.

    I'll have a closer look a bit later and see if anything else leaps out at me suggestion-wise.


    I have ninja run and a jet pack. And I rarely, rarely exemp.


    2.
    I made one up based on your build. It drops Hasten, but on a melee toon you don't need it that badly. If you do want it you can drop something else.

    Anyway, gets your S/L/E/N defenses to 45% and F/C to 32.5% (IE Small Purple range) on top of having Fireball.
    I actually came in here to post what I had come up with myself. I will have a look at the build you posted.

    Unless you actually use Unstoppable, I would keep Hasten and ditch Unstoppable. I used it as an Aegis mule for a Psi resists unique for a while before I finally respec'ed out of it on my build as my DM/INV brute hasn't needed unstoppable and it's nasty crash since I hit level 50 and got slotted.

    I have dropped unstoppable in my current build. I can solo lvl 52 AV's and a pylon.
