    This!

The devs work for a business and businesses have deadlines. You do the best you can to put a product out in the timeframe allowed. And correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the AE release date pushed back at least once already? For some reason I remember that the AE was suppsed to come out with I13 but they had to delay it. If my memory is faulty I apologise.

Because the money generated from the booster sales could go directly into funding the overhaul people want. Just like the devs did with the money they got from the Origin booster sales. That money has helped pay for the features we currently have.

Well, I am off to start logging my drops then.

Drops are random and based on a percentage. It's not unusual to get dry spells. There's no guaruntee you'll get drops on a regular basis

Yes it does, and your correct about staying l;ogged off long enough.

    Smuggler - Auto: Enhancement Bonus

Your time working as a smuggler has given you a keen eye for quality goods. Upon completion of a mission, while this effect has time remaining, you will be awarded an enhancement
For every X hours logged off, a character gains Y minute duration up to a maximum of 2 hours.

Oh here we go with this bull**** defense again. Trying to use farming to justify abusing exploits.

If the devs were truly against farming they would simply make the content non repeatable by making each mission timed, and not letting us reset the missions once started.

Oh hell yes I would. But that's because I get a kick out of base building. I can understand that there are people out there that have zero interest in building bases.

If they ever did sell us base boosters then I demand that one feature be included.

Reskinned floor tiles top and bottom in different sizes. All we have now is that one white floor tile next to the safe, and that's invisible from underneath.

I'm betting that the rewards wouldn't have been as severely reduced if people had voluntarily not used exploits, but I guess that was asking too much.
And the fact that the people that were hunting for the next exploit as fast as the devs shut them down, and came up with code words to identify which missions in the AE were designed to take advantage of the exploits defeated any defense they made that they didn't know they were breaking the rules.

In my opinion the devs generosity was a bad idea. They should never have allowed us to be able to recover any enhancements. I wish they'd remove this feature from the game, and I use respecs to recover enhancements all the time.

So /unsigned to the OP's idea.

Trial Accounts allow a player to take City of Heroes and/or City of Villains for a test run. They are free and last either 10 or 14 days, depending on the source of the Trial Account code. Up until Issue 12, a Trial Account was not limited in what it could do; as of Issue 12, there are several restrictions put in place. Most of these restrictions were placed due to RMT spam.
    Restrictions
    • Trial Accounts cannot email other players
    • Trial Accounts may not level past 14
    • Trial Accounts can only have 50k influence
    • Trial Accounts may not join global channels
    • Trial Accounts can only speak in
    • Trial Accounts cannot invite players to team
      • Trial Accounts may join teams, but not invite other players
      • Trial Accounts may not join SuperGroups.
    • Trial Accounts may not create Mission Architect arcs. They can not interface with the Architect Entertainment Stations. However, they can be invited onto a team that is running MA missions.
  10. Never. If God intended my characters to walk he would have never invented travel powers.
  11. And if anyones curious, here's what she looks like. May I introduce Samantha Hain Mandrake.

And this is what she turned into the last time that guy started hitting on her.

Oh and this is her concept costume when I created her for the 2008 Halloween event. For some reason this costume didn't bother the ERPer.

All of the packs have been more than worth 10$ to me, this is my favorite though.

As for those complaining about ninja run, you have the option to purchase it just as the rest of us did.

I for one like micro transactions. They allow for overtime and extra staff above and beyond what is normally there for development. I am with that.
I was thrilled with the Science pack cuz I finally got payback on the creepy guy that kept trying to ERP with my tween heroine, by hitting the costume change and turning into a 10' tall monstrous escaped prisoner and telling him, "You gots a real purty mouf, now bendover and squeal like a pig fo yo daddy, cuz you my little puppy now!"

    Haven't seen him since.

See I notice how you keep avoiding the most important part of the vet reward system. The commitment. The vet rewards were intended as perks given to the players that show their loyalty by keeping their accounts active the LONGEST TIME.

It's not about the money. It's about the TIME.

No matter what you argue you can't get around the fact that it's a loyalty program based on the length of time the account is active.

    Time.

    Time, time, time, time, time.

    Positron

After reading most of the thread spawned by my “Abusing Mission Architect” post, I figured I needed to follow up on a few of the points I brought up. You guys had a lot of the same questions, so I think I can answer them FAQ style.

    Q) “If I powerlevelled a character, am I going to lose them?”

    A) Probably not. Only the worst of the worst, exploitive, powerlevelled characters will be removed from the game. We don’t take retroactive punishments lightly, but some offenses are so egregious that no one would question their intent and those ill-gotten gains should be dealt with. I just want to emphasize that no one is looking to ‘punish’ anyone here, but rather remove the rewards of exploitive behavior.

    Q) “Are you going to give us an absolute definition of what abuse is?”

    A) I know a lot of you want to know an exact definition to see if you were actually abusing the system, or just playing the game, but I don’t want to be set up in a situation where our definition of abuse is abused. For example, if we say that the definition is “you gained 4 levels in under 30 minutes”, then someone will make sure that they gain 4 levels in 31 minutes, so they can claim they were within the allowed limits and not abusing. Someone said it best that the “definition” of reckless driving is purposely ambiguous, being “Disregard for safety”. With this example, I would say that a good interpretation of abuse is “Disregard for the risk and/or time to reward ratio”.

Searching through a huge list for the one piece of salvage you want is even more tedious than typing each one.

That being said allowing people to unslot all enhancements during a respec would decrease inf destruction through market fees since people would have less incentive to buy new enhancements (as opposed to unslotting a retired character) leading to fewer transactions and the lowering of prices on most IOs would mean less Inf destroyed per transaction.
Thanks. And you're right the inf is still in play just in different hands.

I was trying to see this from the perspective of a guy with the expensive enhancements on his character. If he can't pull the enhancements, he sees the investment as a total loss. If he paid 100 mill and can't recoup then he's out 100 mil.

Leave it to me to get the percieved loss mixed up with the real inf sink.

    No.

Removing the ability to pull any enhancements off of a character would increase the removal of influence from the game. That way if you paid 100 million for an enhancement and slotted it, the entire 100 million would be gon from the game.
