Quote:It wasn't bad but you totally missed how obsessed Tony is with BIf you're referring to the bird part, I was more trying to poke fun at how obsessed he is with his bird more then his accent.
But based on reactions, I think it's safe to say I probably won't do one of these again. It's gotten more views then some of my actual reviews but it's gotten almost all negative comments.
bies.

Quote:Ah. just missed it. Happens to me all the time. TBH I was wondering if you were reposting the review because there was something we had missed and I couldn't spot what it was.Uh, to be honest, no.

i should've, really, and i have no excuse for somehow missing that completely other than jumping back to thread after being away for several hours and not making sure i hadn't missed any posts.
Wait, a very subtle and rarefied joke, yesss. That's what it was.
Eh, not going to edit it now. More Howard Tayler linkage is good.

Quote:Thanks for the info. StarGeek and I posted it up in Player Questions where someone is trying to convince himself that GR is currently too expensive to buy.20 bucks. I've gotten it on all my accounts already or I would jump on this.

Quote:Beat me to a quick postDirect2drive, GR for $19.95
I was told it was for today only, but I don't know how accurate that was. I added it to my second account and it included a month of play, so basically only $4.95.
. I saw Kidengeer's post on the sale down in General Discussions and took the screenie. Good Work StarGeek.

Quote:A live action Guyver movie with a good writer, director, producer and modern effects house behind it would be incredible. Also unlikely to happen.
Another review by some webcomic guy was similar to most of the opinions here: "I saw Skyline today with my friend Jeremy. At least, I think we're still friends. He didn't punch me in the throat after the movie was over."
And then he also goes into detail about things like how he spent most of the movie rooting for the main characters to die.
Uhm . . . Did you notice that you are referring to the same guy TerraDraconis linked and quoted?
If you were making a joke then I apologize for it going over my head. -
Quote:Yeah you are definitely trying to convince yourself not to buy GR. You're not fooling anyone with the "maybe later when I am leve; 50" because when you are level 50 you'll be making the excuse that GR isn't worth it because most of the content is for levels 1-20.Yea everything sounds more then it is when people are just typing to each other, if I was trying to convince myself not to play then I would say 15 dollars a month would not justify a monthly payment.
And no its still not worth it right now maybe later when I am leve; 50 it might be but still cox expansions are pretty high dollar.
The only thing you are accomplishing by not getting GR is that you are limiting your enjoyment of the game, and the only person you are hurting by doing that is yourself.
As to the expansions being "pretty high dollar" Direct2Drive has Going Rogue on sale for only $19.95 bucks. What's your excuse for not buying it now Moonbound?
Going Rogue on sale at Direct2Drive for only $19.95

That's the complete collection on sale for 50% off. That means with the $14.99 they automatically credit to your account for the 30 days you're only paying $4.96 for the new game.
Are you actually going to try to claim $4.96 is too expensive for you? -
Quote:Agreed. I've been arguing for this the entire time for all gated costume pieces. If something is going to be unlocked with a TF, Merits, Kills, Vet Rewards then give everyone a simple, plain, unadorned version we can all use at level 1 and keep the fancy pieces as the special unlock reward.I wouldn't care so much about these unlocks if there were something similar in game to replace it with at character creation. For instance, a basic roman armour set available to everyone at character creation, and the ITF unlocks a "deluxe" version. This way, at least, you're not gating character concepts behind tasks that may well come in at the very end of a character's 1-50 journey.
They've already taken the first steps towards this with Capes and Auras. -
Quote:The thing I look for from those kinds of sellers are the words "factory sealed" or something similar. If they don't say that I won't buy it.It's being sold through Amazon by "buynowlv". A cursory Google search doesn't reveal much about them, although they have a high customer feedback rating on Amazon.
And something like this, which I just saw advertised under the Good vs Evil box, is just baffling.
If he installed it the code is no good.Quote:EXCELLENT CONDITION, PLAYED AND INSTALLED ONCE, STILL HAS ORGINAL BOX, BOOKLET, AND EVERYTHING IN THE BOX....EXCELLENT GAMEPLAY.......

Quote:Nnnnoo, I think you'll find there is no plausible argument for spending that sort of money in my world view - this coming from someone who bid-creeps when shopping for a Kinetic Weapon.

There is nothing wrong with your opinion. I'd never spend that kind of money either, but that being said I can't dispute that it's cheaper for someone in Europe or Australia to buy a code on Ebay than the cost of airline tickets, hotel bill, etc to go to the convention from outside the US. I still think it's nuts, but I'll concede the point that it's cheaper. -
Trial Account
Overview
Trial Accounts allow a player to take City of Heroes, City of Villains, and Going Rogue for a test run. They are free and last either 10 or 14 days, depending on the source of the Trial Account code. Up until Issue 12, a Trial Account was not limited in what it could do; as of Issue 12, there are several restrictions put in place. Most of these restrictions were placed due to RMT spam.
Restrictions
Trial Accounts cannot email other players
Trial Accounts may not level past 14
Trial Accounts can only have 50k influence
Trial Accounts may not join global channels
Trial Accounts can only speak in
/local
/hc (the Help channel)
/team
Trial Accounts cannot invite players to team
Trial Accounts may join teams, but not invite other players
Trial Accounts may not join SuperGroups.
Trial Accounts may not create Mission Architect arcs. They can not interface with the Architect Entertainment Stations. However, they can be invited onto a team that is running MA missions.
Pre-existing accounts cannot get access to Going Rogue content without upgrading the account first. Only new accounts can access Going Rogue as a part of their trial accounts. -
Not trying to brag but I've been fortunate that my size and girth has succesfully discouraged physical retaliation. People seem to think twice before engaging me, assuming I can do them some serious damage. Tho I'm not sure if I could or not. I've only gotten in three "fights" (none of which I lost) since I got out of high school back in 1985, and one of my jobs over the years was as a bouncer.

Which makes it even more unreliable. Had you said you had gotten it directly from a redname I wouldn't believe it because I've gotten invites even tho I never subscribed to the newsletter. I dang sure as heck ain't gonna believe it from some third party that told you something he claims he was told by someone else.
Far as I'm concerned you were fed a line of bull. -
Quote:I don't see that happening. Remember Eli's the one that told Amanda that it's easy to forget you're in someone elses body. I'd be very disappointed if the writers put him in bed with Chloe after making comments like that.Chole and Gin swap bodies, Eli has sex with Gin in Chole's body.
Wait. I'm forgetting the bad writing so yeah it's very possible that it could happen. -
Quote:It's not even about that. It's about the poor writing. The constant portraying of characters as complete and utter idiots lacking common sense. The utter lack of character development. The completely unlikable characters, which is not to be confused with characters you love to hate, these are unlikable characters you simply don't want to watch. It's about when they actually do something with one of the 1 or 2 likable characters that would interest people in tuning in to watch the show they quickly stomp on it before it can develop any interest. This isn't about being a brilliant superteam, it's about Eli being the go-to whipping boy for when they want to mess with someone.
This show came with built in fanbase that could have carried the show for several years if they made the least bit of effort to make it watchable. Instead Sifee is systematically trying to drive the fans away. -
Quote:Nah, I'll need it later.
Gone for a few months is different from leaving.
For one: CVoH has been a great game, with more pros than cons.
For two: CoH at 15$/mo has been a greater investment of funtime vs money than 15$ worth of movie tickets could hope to be.
For three: CoH, has had something beneficial in every issue, even if the main gist of the issue hasn't been my big deal every single issue. There's at least minor QoL improvements, a few emotes or a costume piece or something, in every new issue, that makes an improvement for me personally.
I'LL BE BACK!
This game rocks and no other MMO has my attention, nor caters to my particular style.
ROCK ON, CoH community, you are a fine bunch of folks!

If I don't do something foolish, I'll be back so soon, no one will notice I was gone!
<Gives the Pork a big hug to show that he'll be missed while surreptitiously patting him down for phat lewt before he leaves>

Quote:Some people honestly need them for dual builds, but most of the time the people that want multiple respecs are the ones that want to pull all of the expensive enhancements off of a character they've decided to delete.Honestly, why would you want them to stack unless you're respeccing your characters so often that you want 2 freebies back to back? Even then if you're a chronic respeccer you'd probably like this one freespec now, another a week later deal.
Really no reason for the freespecs to stack.
Now there's nothing wrong with wanting to reclaim those enhancements. I reclaim all of mine when I decide to delete a character, but I don't burn thru respecs like some people do. The Vetspecs, Trialspecs, and Freespecs have always been more than enough for me.
Trial Respecs - earned, up to 3 possible
Veteran Respecs - earned, up to 5 possible (at 69 months)
Patron Respecs - earned, 1 possible (Villain only)
Soldiers of Arachnos Respec - earned, 1 possible (Villain only)
Purchased Respec - earned, theoretically unlimited
Free Respec - free (A character can only have 1 at a time and they do not stack)
Respec Recipes - free (These cannot be crafted if the character already has a free respec available)
Holiday Respec - free (These cannot be purchased at the Candy Keeper if the character already has a free respec available) -
I've never subscribed to the newsletter and I've been invited to several betas over the years so I'm not buying any bridges from GG.

Quote:And that's when I wouldn't be able to stop myself from blurting out, "Well you could start by losing 50 lbs."Well, Christie Brinkley is coming to the end of her contract with Ol' Scratch, so he needed fresh blood.
At the grocery store I overheard one of the stupidest conversations ever not long ago:
Woman looking at Brinkley on a magazine: "It says she's 55! How does she look so good at 55?!"
Second woman: "And how do I get to look like her?" -
Quote:The show has 10 writers who have worked on different episodes, so I can't see that as a valid explanation for everything we've seen. That's not bad writing, that's Creator Breakdown.

Depends on the Archetype and how long the players been a vet. for example I can make a WS and start with TP, take nova form to get fly, and starting as early as levels 6 take SJ, and SS. That only counts as two power pools, and I'd only use two powers.
