This is something of sufficient completiy that I truly think a separate and dedicated team is better suited to the task than actually adding it to the game. -
The only suggestion in the OP that I think would be even a remotely good idea would be a Paragon Studios-supported build planner. Of course, in order for me to prefer it more than Mids' enough to pay for it, I would have to be free from any sort of bugs, ever; possibly also devising some sort of interface better than Mids'.
Even saving/loading builds into from and to the actual game wouldn't be enough, because shortly after the program was released, Mids' would start supporting/using that file format. -
And there's two versions of the advanced editor, too. There's the advanced editor which shows you all the code, and there's the evil advanced editor which is WYSIWYG (or perhaps more accurately, WYSIWYHTG - What You See Is What You Hope To Get). Both versions include buttons much like Microsoft Word which you can use for formatting your post (the non-WYSIWYG advanced editor just inserts the code when you press the button)
IIRC, he updated it for the new forums. But the advanced editor would probably be simpler, and not require a 3rd party program. -

Naw, you're supposed to be evil naming your kids. My initials are "BS". I knew a girl in elementary school named "Solar Rayes" (and her sister was named Saturn)
My top two choices for naming my kids would be "Ohess Shields" (It's a recursive acronym!) and "Sordsan Shields" -

no. because its a meaningless ritual, we give it meaning.
yes. but i dont know enough about them to say not.

You just said, "if you do 1000 good deeds they can all cancel(and then some) by 1 heinous crime." While I'll agree that leaving the toilet seat up isn't a heinous crime, you've just said that racism is heinous. -
Hmm, I didn't even notice anyone besides PK toting around a P.U. signature until today. Is that new?
Also: PM invitation seems tacky and reminiscent of Cryptic Studios
Also also: P.U. gives me a sense of "P U" -
It's an old screenshot.
See? Look! It's even been faded with age:
(Seriously. That window got upgraded from PIE to PIES when CoV came out, I believe) -
Spines' (and Claws') ranged attacks have no more distance than a blast set's "short range" attack.

Quote:Is racism heinous?i am curious on how you feel about a priest who molests altar boys(maybe with the intent of keeping them chaste or some other psychotic garbage). i am of the opinion that people are the sum total of their actions and if you do 1000 good deeds they can all cancel(and then some) by 1 heinous crime.
Is baptizing a non-Christian against their will heinous?
Would you consider Gandhi to be a good person?
Would you consider Mother Teresa to be a good person? -

1) The Spring Fling only really had a Valentines theme when it included Manticore & Sister Psyche's wedding (which was a live event added to match the wedding of Sean Michael Fish, the developer who has taken the 'Manticore' name). You can argue otherwise, but aside from the "Heroes and Villains working together", there's not much to say "Love is in the air!"
2) Independence Day is only July 4th for the United States of America. There are many, many players who are from other countries. -

I think all the nameless/faceless mook ones are. As for the ones given real characterization... um... I guess with the exception of powering a city by utilizing the combined forces of a volcano and a demon, Dr. Aeon is fairly sane.
...
Ooh! Dr. Shelly Percy is sane! She was expelled from medical school for unethical experimentation on a hero, but she's very lucid. -
Quote:While I don't pretend to know how the game models its normal physics (barring the ragdolls and explosions), nothing I've seen in the game would indicate that the current physics model would allow for that, unfortunately (at least not in any reasonable fashion).NCSoft's MMORPG Aion has a mechanism where you can click on 'sittable' furniture and your character will move to and sit down on it, without your having to do any particular positioning; I'm wondering whether it would be possible for the devs to make something similar -- click on an object you can sit on, you get a pop-up with the various 'sit' emotes and a 'cancel' option, then pick one and have your character sit down there.
I would love to be wrong. -
Quote:How many CoV arcs have you done? There's a bunch of awesome stuff in there.Ah yes. I've been playing for awhile now, but this is the first thing that literally made me fall outta my chair laughing.
Doc Buzzsaw: Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?
...
Doc Buzzsaw: She who lives by the cybernetic monstrosity powered by living coral, all too often dies by the cybernetic monstrosity powered by living coral. Fortunately, you have helped me to avoid this fate. I think I shall shelve my plans for the Superfreak for a time, and instead concentrate on another project. Perhaps mass-producing an army of Tank Freaks? Yes, that would likely be much safer, and far more useful.
Vernon von Grun: AH-HAH-HAH-HAH-HAH-HAAAA!!!

RAAH - HA - HA - HA - HA - HAAAAA!
I don't know if you've noticed but I've been trying a couple different styles of evil laugh. It's hard to pick the right one.
Vernon von Grun: As you know, I work for Operative Grillo on the Fury project. So, it, ah, isn't just my lab. There are other people there, and they are sort of my co-workers, so it might be good if you could get them out too. I may be mad, but I did just order some boxes of spiderling-scout candy from one of their daughters and I'll never get them if all of my co-workers are devoured.
$name (on Television): I've thought about it a lot, and I've come to realize that all of my criminal tendencies and flamboyant fashion choices came from two sources: books and other reading material, and more importantly, video games. Video games and books. You can't forget the negative impact of the books too. If those books hadn't expanded my horizons, I would have just been a violent social misfit because of video games. One alone can do irreparable damage, but both together, well, you can see the results. If you don't want your children to become violent criminals bent on world conquest, then you need to act immediately. Don't let them play video games. Keep them away from books. And you'd probably better keep them inside, too. I'd suggest that you replace those other activities with something better. Something that can heal them. I'd suggest Television. I often wish I'd watched more TV as a youth. Who knows what I could have been? -
Quote:It's unlikely that a set like this would be given to anyone except Dominators, or an EAT designed with this set in mind.well tbh many ppl referred to the procs (the chances of purples and glads) it will have. it will rule in melee and in range. just imagine that set with a regen. no problem to duel any AT and no need to build it for melee or range cause it can farm* both. anyway that's my opinion too. but again you are right about the numbers. but still imagine this set played like a blaster with critical hits and armors with it

Huh? I'm talking about the gunblade weapons that did exist in the real world, and comparing them to their weaponry contemporaries. At the time that they were used in the real world, gunblades were decent swords, but sucked ball for guns. In a similar fashion, a rifle with a bayonet attached was a decent gun, but sucked balls if you tried to use it like a sword.

Um... you've been able to do so ever since the introduction of the system. So long as you're within the level range of the zone, you can continually do radio/paper missions followed by safeguard/mayhem missions. And both Peregrine Island and Grandville allow you to continue the same thing even at level 50.
-
For the old Red/Cyan paper glasses thing, it's done by simply rendering the scene twice, put through two different filters with elements offset. To make the entire scene just exist above the computer screen, you offset the entire scene by some amount. To make things closer to the camera appear further from the screen, you would have to analyze their distance from the camera and offset those things a different amount than things further away. Either way, it's client-side only.
I don't know specifically how other 3D effects are achieved.
But no matter what, it seems like a silly idea. -
Quote:They didn't. At least, not specifically. That effect comes from the stats "Movement Control" and "Movement Friction". Powers which allow you to change direction in midair (Fly, Combat Jumping, Hover, Inertial Reduction, etc.) have the Control and Friction stats applied. I must admit I don't know precisely how the mechanics work, but they're responsible for how you're able to change directions while jumping/falling/flying, as well as how quickly you come to a complete stop.I just love that somebody went to the trouble to code that in, for no real reason other than the fact that it would be a logical side effect of the power.
Powers with Control/Friction also help on the Ski Slopes during the winter event. A single IR at the top of the ski slopes (plus a bit of manual dexterity on your part) can get you the gold medal, while a dozen SBs don't help at all.
The ski slopes aren't really sliding or running or anything like that. They're "falling with style"
