Mids and the Game do the same thing, but the game is less verbose about what it does.

Depends on how you define "a bit". MM pets go away after 27 hours, 46 minutes, 39 seconds.
(Same goes for Controller/Dominator T9 pets) -
I play my main villain as evil as I have to be to get my badges @_@
The character's backstory paints her as the jealous vengeance type. -

That's like saying Arachnos wouldn't exist without Lord Recluse. In fact, it's an extremely apt analogy. Both organizations existed before their famous leaders brought them to power, and both are generally considered to be evil.
Before Hitler, Nazis were a comparatively minor political party. Before Recluse, Arachnos was a comparatively minor, terrorist organization run by The Weaver. Hitler joined the Nazi party before taking power. Recluse joined Arachnos before taking power. The Nazis and Arachnos both had dealings with Benito Mussolini. -
Code:
int getRandomNumber() { return 4; // Chosen by fair dice roll. Guaranteed to be random. }

Just don't let me see Ruladak's cave ever again.

Shouldn't Protean be posting using everyone's redname account except his own?

Quote:What's to be scared of? Secant = 1 / Cosine. Cosecant = 1 / Sine.Hence why I said a smarter man
I never got the grasp of secant functions or how they work. There's theory I could read up on, I suppose, but I remember being really "scared" of them back in the day.
Quote:I guess it's a question of computing time. Do those look like they're very slow to calculate? I mean, slow enough to cause performance degradation? Do we even know how often skeletal positions are recalculated? I would stab-in-the-dark guess once per frame, which would put them at 60 times a second, and I guess speed would depend on the proficiency of whatever internal calculator is used.
However, as I was walking to lunch, I realized: This math is really only good for transforming the bones. A proper digitigrade rig would have different animation, too, which has not yet been addressed. I think, like my first assumption, that you'd simply need an animator to go in and do it manually. -
Quote:Mmm, it's not quite that simple to compare, I think. Cape systems could probably be done with a vertex shader on the graphics card, whereas a plantigrade -> digitigrade transformation would have to be a transform in the animation system on the CPU. While a cape system would have more vertices that it's working with, it might still be faster than the trigonometry.I dare say the cost of a simple waving piece of cloth such as a cape is vastly higher, with numerous vertex calculations (which are undoubtedly singularly simple, but much more numerous) as opposed to basically just two.
Quote:I'm sure a smarter man than me can come up with a better, easier calculation that doesn't go through as much trigonometry, but that's all I have at the moment.
ArcSec ( (4nx) / (3n² + m² Csc(d)² Sin(a)² )
Edit: Invert the fraction within the ArcSec, and change ArcSec to ArcCos, and it should work fine, too. -
Re: Torrenting something you've already got.
It's not entirely ridiculous. Lots of people on bakaBT do it to help boost their U/D ratio
(Okay, not quite what we're talking about... but whatever)

Quote:They cloned the magical items, too. And the robotic parts. Crey's cloning technology is just THAT badass. (Besides, why do you think it took 3 tries to get the clone process right?)It shocks me that this would be your complaint...
As opposed to the carefully cloned robots or users of magic items. How about the Ensorcelled villains of the Isles who's only power lies in magical effects placed on them? Or guys and gals wearing powersuits. "Cloning" just doesn't work for these characters. -
Quote:Erm... outside of a few outliers (Superior Invisibility comes to mind), toggles have incredibly low EPS compared to click powers. In general, it's not your toggles that are causing your endurance loss, you just notice your endurance loss when it shuts off your toggles. The cost of running toggles seems to have been calibrated to hit the endurance bar, and the chief player response to that is simply to build characters so that endurance is ignorable.
Quote:Guild Wars is the only game which does it better, and then as a tradeoff you can only take 8 spells / abilities out into the world with you, but atleast out of a fight you regenerated very well.- Many "signet" skills have a condition attached to them, such as only recharging after you to gain a Morale Boost, setting yourself on fire or causing yourself to bleed after the signet's primary effect, killing yourself when the target dies, disabling some of your skills, and more. The signets without conditions generally have long recharge or long (interruptable) cast time.
- Some skills have little actual effect, but you want to have them equipped anyway. For example, "Charm Animal" will turn target animal into your pet, but you can only have 1 pet, and in order to have your pet follow you, you need either "Charm Animal" or "Comfort Animal" equipped.
But I gotta say, running around with a Dire Flamingo for a pet is hilarious
The most recent related comment from a dev (Positron) was that they would sooner remove endurance from the game entirely than make Stamina an inherent power.
Quote:Some people, myself included, will take stamina no matter what. I have characters that have +end powers and I still keep stamina.
Dark Consumption + Quick Recovery + Stamina + Physical Perfection.
-
Everything in the game has the same recharge cap and floor.

I ran around a bit in that mission, and clicked on all the tellers at the desk (where tellers are supposed to be)... when I finally found the right NPC near the entrance I robbed the bank out of spite for making me frustrated

Quote:I agree. Agge and ZM have helped Durakken start some sub-pages to work on it, which is great. It's also possible for the admins to create a namespace for it.I don't see the point in creating a completely separate wiki as opposed to improving the one we already have.
If a namespace is created, then instead of /wiki/Lore/Multiverse, you'd have /wiki/Lore:Multiverse. As an added bonus, the advanced search page would allow you to restrict your search to only the Lore namespace. (Or exclude it, if you liked) -
Exactly, It's not about watching what you think, it's about having thoughts thunk for you. You can't be unhappy if no unhappy thoughts occur in your brain.

Quote:I almost always walk on my toes when I'm in bare feet, and I'm almost always in bare feet when I'm at home.Heh, yeah, I didn't even think of that one
But yes, a digitigrade is a creature which has evolved feet designed to walk on their toes, not simply any animal who just chooses to walk on its toes some of the time. Human feet are designed to stand on an equilibrium between the toes and the heel, and high heels are no different. You CAN walk in them just on your toes, but that requires some serious calves. Most of the time, people walking in high heels are indeed walking on the actual high heel
Quote:And, yes, that is a glowing fiery triangle only present on the Succubus Mistress upgrade (actually pictured here). I'm not making this stuff up, people. This is a famous, mainstream game! -
Quote:Yeah, links to pretty much anything on the old forums are borked, but the content wasn't removed.Saddly it seems that the whole guide has vanished when this forum seems to have been upgraded. My old link leads to a dead page and I don't have a copy of it. Oh well.
edit. never mind, found it.
