There are two camps of complainers here. Camp A, where you and I both are, comprises the people who want more options both sexy and unsexy for female characters, and do not object to the sexy being included. Camp B, the ones who would hate me, are the ones who complain that female characters get additional sexy-feminine options that the male characters don't get, calling it unfair that women are allowed their own clothes in addition to the unisex options.

First: The fact that every AT and even some powerset combinations operate wildly differently indicates that the devs expect one character's experience to be different from another's, and to deal with different challenges (for example mez, or fleeing enemies) differently - therefore, the way a Stalker experiences the game is no more or less "right" than the way a Mastermind does. If using the unique powers available to your AT and sets were ever in any way considered "doing it wrong," then those sets would never make it past beta, or in the event that they did would be readjusted hastily after the fact (ED is an example of such an adjustment where the devs considered a common practice to be the wrong way to play).
I determine whether a character is experiencing the game "right" based on two criteria, one of which is concrete and the other of which is even more relative than the answers you will get in archetype forums where you ask for build advice:
1) Do I enjoy this?
2) Does the way this character operates in a fight reflect the concept I had for this character's history, personality, mannerisms, and other general ideas I had when I was fiddling in the costume creator and coming up with a name?
There is absolutely nothing else that matters to me. For example, I have a Fortunata who completely ignores the advice of every Fortunata guide I have ever seen, and operates much like a Night Widow in that she uses stealth-crits and melee attacks heavily. I always imagined her moving like a Geth Hopper from Mass Effect in combat (would give her a wall crawling power if it existed!) and as it turns out, the constant movement on the battlefield that her build makes necessary for survival really does feel like that when I play her. Therefore, because her mechanics match her concept and because I am able to play her with a sufficient level of survivability and kill-speed that she is not frustrating, I consider the way the game feels when I play her to be "right," regardless of any guides proclaiming that her use of melee attacks and going toe-to-toe with the enemy makes her a "failfort."
tl;dr: If it works for you it's right. -
Quote:Ah, didn't think of that, let me go have a look...2) Have you tried playing with head sliders to make the hairdoo fit? - I have had to adjust my cranium a few times for costumes now.
...Yep, that's done it. Glorious. I would have been been so upset if this hairstyle couldn't have been used with these things; can't have this genre without the bouffant. It still clips a little at the very bottom edge, but that's far less noticeable.
Slightly off-topic, but seeing as the Pocket D metallic dress is so, so much shinier than the old Metallic tights texture (I had to make the top in these costumes a shade lighter than the skirt to get it to even begin to match), might it be possible to make a Metallic texture just like the Metallic tights top and bottom that can be applied to our older skirts (Mini, Pencil, Flared, etc)? As illustrated here it would be amaaaazinnggggggg. -

Check your server's forums. See if anyone's recruiting.

Quote:I do actually follow these things, you know. You don't have to talk to me like I'm oblivious to why I would be hated. The switch to the new fairer system of costume sets was caused by Gunslingergate - and that was all about the corsets
The specific instance of continued complaining that I thought of is a post I saw where someone speculated that we would be getting Tsoo costume parts, and that if so, it was another instance of the females getting more than the males because of yet another corset-centric set (yes, really; according to some, having ONE new corset option makes it the entire focus of a set), whine whine whine, moan moan moan. -
The number of people complaining over how we continue to receive new sexy and feminine costume options at all (or in some cases that said sexy and feminine costume parts are not available to male or huge toons) suggests otherwise.
-
You read my statement backwards. Clubbing as just as related to dating as it is to drinking. Therefore, if we get a clubbing-themed costume for a dating-centric holiday, it makes no less sense to get that clubbing-themed costume for a drinking-centric holiday.

Okay, let's see here. If I were a dev I would be on the art team, so:
1) NPC-only costume parts. Oh, you guys want to be able to use this piece that I intended to be a signature part of this unique character's look? TOUGH PATOOTIES, YOU CAN'T HAVE IT.
2) Bustiers for everyone! And by that I mean "everyone who plays a female toon." -
I'm going to guess that the leg details and that codpiece thing are going to be deemed too much to ask, but for god's sake, why do we still not have those Legacy Chain shoulders? They're clearly not attached to any chest details anymore.

...What on earth is she wearing in that screencap you have? I can't recognize it at all...
-
Dink, please prove GG wrong - can we get a glamrock costume set next?
Also, is this the place to leave feedback? Female boots 1, male boots 3, the shiny version of the pants, and the non-rings-version of the skirt all take only one color. Can they be given color mask options (Blend, Cellular, Assassin, etc), seeing as they have no native pattern? The aforementioned boot options also only come in Shiny, with no Standard option like the other parts. Also it saddens me that the Honey hairstyle for women indeed does not quite fit inside the bubble helmet... so close :< -
Neato. What medium is that? I mean, I know it's digital, but is it photomanipulation? 3D? An absurdly-detailed painting?
-
Did you actually read the first post? You know, the one where in the second half, OP described the arcs' content and how it wasn't like that at all?
-
Devouring Earth, damn it. My boyfriend's plant dominator doesn't have a single Lore option that makes sense.

Quote:We do have a set of muttonchops but it has an attached mustache (what is otherwise known as "friendly chops"), rather than being sideburns-only. Also it is a Face Detail 2, which means even if it were sideburns-only I would have to lose the goatee.I could have sworn there was a mutton chops option under beards at one point in time. If not, I agree it would be a cool part to have, and it would help greatly any Elvis impersonators out there.
Quote:Thanks for the feedback Dink, just one question.
Why is it not possible with more then one cloth dynamic?
Players were able to do it for a very long time before, both using wings with bolero robes, and capes/wings with the wedding tux jacket. Caused no issues from what i could tell.
Old crappy costume with cape+wings -
Because flying by the seat of my pants and jumping around all over the place spraying AOEs as a Fortunata is much more exciting, that's why
Also, I've had terrible luck with brutes. It took me three tries to get one that worked at all; the first two couldn't even half-finish fights before their endurance bottomed out regardless of how I slotted. -
Quote:Said friend, speaking up now. The mask pattern in question is the Roman overlay for faces. I hide the nose piece and forehead under a hat and one of the goggle sets from the Science pack. Screencap and artistic interpretation follows.Exxtreme extra mega-bonus points if said normal/muscular arms can be textured (e.g. with options for simple bare arms or choosing from the usual list of shirt/armor/scale/zombie/tights/tigerstripes/etc/etc/etc textures available for Chest which also cover the arm-ish areas).
Also, a hairstyle with sideburns. A friend of mine has a character who can't take off his hat and goggles because there is no hair with sideburns and she was forced to fake them with a mask.
=
Anyway, even better solution than hair with attached sideburns? Make a set as a face detail, and then add them to both Face Detail One AND Two, thus allowing them for use alongside either a mustache, goatee, or cigar (as I would want) and alongside glasses, a headband, or some other upper-face detail as I'm sure some other people would want.
Or y'know, just gimme a Face Detail 2 that is a combo sideburns+goatee. That'd be cool too. -

Quote:So don't allow them in. Simple as that. Invite only heroes and vigilantes to your group, and set rank restrictions for all your equipment. Bam, villains can't touch you.I don't like the general principle of allowing villains/rogues into my hero/vigilante bases. Why don't we just invite Al-Qaeda to come visit our US/Allied Military bases and give them access to our motor pool to take them wherever they want to go? Oh and here, Mr. Al-Qaeda, here's access to our salvage crafting table where you can make some grenades and weapons and enhancements from a recipe, all the easier to blow up and kill my fellow allies...bet that would go over well, hmmm?
I play in a SG that is themed as a secret society, with only SG members able to access the base ICly except in very rare extenuating circumstances when plot demands an outsider to be brought in. Now, technically, any hero or vigilante I ever invite to a team could walk up to a base portal and waltz right into the Codex Sanctuary under existing game mechanics, but a: it would not be considered in-character and b: it doesn't happen. Adjusting the game mechanics to allow redsiders (or at least rogues) to enter blueside SG bases under the same conditions that a character of the same alignment can enter SG bases right now no more lets Al Qaeda into a US military base than the present conditions let any old hero off the streets publicize the Codex's existence. -
Quote:Remember that these would be temporary powers, and therefore could not be slotted - that takes a lot of the strength away. And if you're really worried about it, attach the "Not affected by buffs/penalties" caveat present in our permatemp veteran powers. Will never happen as it would make some toons way too overpowered if they managed to get certain sets.
I don't see why this should unbalance the game any more than the craftable temporary powers we already have. -
Until a couple weeks ago I didn't know there was a Science store in Talos Island.
Until yesterday, my boyfriend - whose purpled-out dominator has all Incarnate powers at tier 4, some of them more than once - didn't know you could convert incarnate shards into threads.
