As the titles says this would be nice to have temps that gives a random ability from of the more veteran power sets, like super strength, mental, Martial Arts, invulnerability, dark Armor etc.. I think it should be a random power may with 10 uses you can buy or a duration of game play. I would love for my Mental Dominator to have super strength or a temporary Invulnerability.

Will never happen as it would make some toons way too overpowered if they managed to get certain sets.

Rockshock (Druid Tanker), Medicat (Combat Medic), Dwarf From the North (Ice Mage), Rocket Gal (Energy Blaster), Graveborn (Undead Mastermind), Streeker (Punching Speedster), Op. Sidewinder (Recluse's pet Spider)

Remember that these would be temporary powers, and therefore could not be slotted - that takes a lot of the strength away. And if you're really worried about it, attach the "Not affected by buffs/penalties" caveat present in our permatemp veteran powers.

I don't see why this should unbalance the game any more than the craftable temporary powers we already have.

The devs already tried allowing players access to powers from all builds back before the game launched and scrapped the idea because it was too powerful.

But was that with or without usage limits and enhancement slots?

I admit I wasn't in prelaunch beta testing so I have no hands on experience with that system, but both the devs and players that were there confirmed it was tested and scrapped because it horribly unbalanced characters.

Oh and for the record I'm not necessarily against the idea, just sharing that the devs have looked into letting characters have access to powers that are now restricted to power sets.

I have a few characters whose concepts could be polished with a power or two from other power sets, even if they were drastically toned down to the equivalent of temp powers.
