Yes! There definitely needs to be some indication of which threads are new (or newly responded to). The bold just doesn't work for it.
Maybe someone should throw together a consolidated thread on these types of suggestions? -
Quote:I noticed this as well. It's actually kind of funny. You know, in annoying kind of wayHmmm, since the patch I have noticed something I call 'I like to boogie' bug
Whenever I use something like Mission TP or Pocket D tp it looks like Im dancing because the arm movement keep repeating themselves!
Anyone else notice this? -
First off, I'd like to say that I am loving the new forums. Some things will take some getting used to, but for the most part I'm very much enjoying the new forums.
That being said, I do have one issue I've come across so far that is a little annoying. It would be nice to have an icon for the sticky threads that differs from the regular thread icons. I understand that sticky threads stay at the top and it's just a matter of scrolling down, but there is no difference between the sticky threads and regular threads in terms of appearance.
If the words "Sticky" was in bold, this would help even slightly. But ultimately, a different icon would be nicer and more noticable.
So my suggestion is to change the icon for sticky threads -
First thing you need to do is post your CoH Helper results

If I remember correctly, this deal is for anyone who purchases a full system that comes with Vista pre-installed. I may be wrong though.
As for what I meant by "severe hardware changes", yes motherboard/CPU would classify as that. Some people have even had issues re-activating by just switching our RAM as well. -
If you're not planning on installing the OEM copy on any other machine, and or not planning to make severe hardware changes to that machine....save yourself the $200 and go with the OEM copy.
Also to reiterate from earlier in the thread, I understand you're not planning to game on the old machine, but I would still recommend at least an x600 series card. Once again, you can get it for the same price if not a tiny bit more than the x400 series. Better to get more for your dollar. Especially if you're planning to watch any HD content. -
Just as a side note,
Although I personally had no issues, the 7100 build had issues with some games as Direct-X was flaky in that build. This has been corrected in 7127, the latest leak. Apparently there was an issue with some of the DLL files. -
Personally I'd stay away from x400 series. x600 series and up would be better bang for your buck.
I realize you're not gaming with this machine any longer, but the x600 series will still yield better results. Even if it is just video. The x400 series cards are truly bottom of the barrel and not worth the money as usually for the same price or a tiny bit more, you can get a x600 series. -
Ultimate was just another way to gouge money. There are some unique features only available to Ultimate, but the majority of those "features" can actually be acquired through 3rd-party software or even some registry hacks if memory serves me correctly.
I would say Home Premium is more than sufficient (It's what I currently run as well).
Pretty much the same can be said about Windows 7 Ultimate and it's features. A lot of what is included in Ultimate either doesn't pertain to normal everyday users, or is available through 3rd-party software.
Hope that helps
As for a cheap video card, you can probably pick up an nVidia 8600GT for under $100 if not well under. That should be more than enough for what you're planning to use it for -
I'm assuming your video drivers are up to date and you have all of the latest updates for Vista?
I don't understand why anyone still experiences this crash. Anytime I had any issues with this specific issue, a simple update has resolved it. It would be interesting to see what exactly it is that causes this in the end. I bet someone (whether on Microsoft's end or Paragon's end) will slap their forehead when they realize what it is. -

Heres a patch note for ya
Rikti Communication Officers (42-42) was removed from Mission Architect system.
Other then that I can see any other big differences.

I think you meant "can't see any other big differences". In which case you would still be incorrect.
The custom critter updates are now live. The changes in the latest test patch notes as well as the announcement about the changes to custom critters have now been implemented. -
Have you tried just running the Updater from within the folder it was installed to? I'm not entirely sure as someone who has a successful account running within Steam would be better equipped to answer, but as far I understand Steam/Valve is strictly a way to get the game. You would still run it from your machine, Steam is just a distributor in this case.
I'm sure someone will correct me if this is incorrect. -
Grab CoH Helper and start by posting it's results. That should give any information about your hardware that might be causing an issue.
In the meantime, is there a specific error message? -
It would probably help if you gave the error message that "pops up"
I'd also recommend adding the results from the following program to your next post:
CoHHelper -
I found this issue when using Windows 7 as well. Only with the nVidia drivers. Having installed Windows 7 a few times, I found the quickest way to fix this is to just reinstall the drivers. Hopefully that will work for you.
Doesn't matter how you do it, I've found both reinstalling without uninstalling the drivers first works, as well as uninstalling the drivers and then installing the drivers again.
It's worked 4/4 times for me nowHope that helps!

And SunBlaster, sorry I doubted you, but I WAS refreshing and it genuinely wasn't showing up for me. There had also been a fakeout earlier, which is why I was skeptical. Thank you to everyone who posted the direct link.

No worries. I get why you doubted me. Thanks for taking the time to apologize. -

Well... Nearly 10:00 here on the West Coast. A question for those of you that have it: Do the mantles and capes work like the Valk Pack? Meaning, are they available at lvl 1?
[/ QUOTE ]
Just tested. Yes you can. It was an option under Costume Sets. Magician comes with High Collar back detail.
High Collar is also available for female, but the rest of the male "magician" costumes are exclusively male.
Also, and I am assuming this is a bug, but it allows female to have two capes. High Collar and Magic Bolero
[/ QUOTE ]
According to what JLove said, the High Collar one should be available, as well as the Hooded one the old guy uses in the picture. -

Yes. But for twenty bucks, you get magic booster code AND a month of play AND a Data DVD with the LATEST BUILD on it.
Or, nearly latest. I think they may have patched once or twice since I14 went Live. Minor tweaks.
So you actually end up saving five bucks, over the long term.

I was going to fill all that in, but wanted to catch him/her before they ran out the door to realize it wasn't the Booster pack itself that was on store shelves LOL
