  1. I was messing around with a TW/Ele/Body Scrapper on the test realm. I was unimpressed.

End usage is what you'd expect from a set that you can basically get an endless stream of attacks. Being /ele helped with that.
Damage is good. When the attacks hit, there's a nice visceral feel to them.

I don't like the starting animations for the set. I hate that the character can't decide if they're a lefty or a righty. The sped up animations you get with momentum are actually not too bad. They're left handed attacks, but they're purely left handed. There's no awkward moving the weapon to the right side to swing it.
It makes me wish they'd just use slowed down versions of the momentum animations instead of that weird awkward crap.
    To summarize:
    starting attack animations = bad.
    Momentum attack animations = good.

Also, the set is AoE heavy. 3 attacks are single target, and I think most people will do as I did and skip the second attack, so they can keep the defense buff. 5 attacks are AoE.

You're trying to be funny, and that's fine.

However, this kind of condescending tone really does nothing but make you and the rest of this game's player base look bad.
It would matter so much if there weren't so many of you with that attitude. Any time someone has anything negative to say about something in this game, it's always met with that same attitude. You don't even get that kind of crap in the WoW forums with this kind of regularity.

Whatever, you'll ignore this or talk down to me the same way your kind always does. I just had to say it.
  3. Knockback is something used irresponsibly the majority of the time it's used.
This is why people dislike it. A large number of abilities in this game benefit more from having everything clumped together. This includes defensive toggles for tanks.

Irresponsible knockback = Friendly fire debuffs. You're debuffing your team by using it incorrectly.

What the hell are you two talking about?

When did I say I cared about real world physics? My problem with the set is that it DOESN'T LOOK AWESOME AT ALL.
I had to use caps, in case you miss my point again.

Take a look at Dual Pistols. Personally, I dislike the set. Then again, I dislike playing Blasters.
However, the animations for the set are amazing. They're the reason I keep trying different combos with DP(both blaster and corruptor).
They're completely unrealistic, but amazing none-the-less. The characters using DP do not look like they picked up the guns for the very first time. They know what they're doing.
To use a different example: the characters using Broadsword, War Mace or Battle Axe, aren't making beautiful swings. However, their swings look relatively smooth. Even the most awkward looking swings, the cone attacks like Slice and Crowd Control, look natural.

These things are lacking, for the most part, in the animations shown in that earlier video.
The character looks like they're a righty trying to be a lefty. It would be like me trying to throw a baseball with my left hand. I may get the ball where I want it to go, but it will look a little funny.
It simply is not up to the standard we've had thus far in this game.

    I tried that, myself.
It felt like I was playing a controller. Lots of debuffs and crap, not a whole lot of damage. The weapon redraw meant I was shooting at stuff after teammates just finished them off.

    Trying it as Ice/Time, now.

What I expect is that my character looks like he knows what he's doing with the weapon. Not like he just picked something random up and started swinging it around in a manner that indicates he's never even been in a fight, let alone used a weapon.
  7. Clumsy is a good word for it.

The Katana animations had to be left handed because of the way characters stand. This time, however, there doesn't seem to be any real reason for it and a lot of the animations have the character shifting the weapon to the right side to swing that way.

It looks very awkward. IMO, the characters should be holding their right hand up by the guard and the blade should rest on the right side, not the left.
That's how it usually is in most games. When a character has a big 2h weapon, they hold it in that manner. Blade resting on the right side of the body, left hand by the pommel, right hand by the guard.

    I agree with you.
I was expecting more "oomph", but they look more like the 2h animations from Dragon Age Origins. It looks like the character can barely lift the weapon.

Maybe it's that whole left handed thing that bothers me, though.
  9. I was bored, so I ended up switching three of my Brute's costumes around.

Thinking about trying to make a "Rogue" costume. Then most likely a Ms. Marvel.

    WOOSH vs feh

That little shockwave of air that comes off your character's legs and fists is amazing, too. Almost makes the miss here or there not so bad. Almost.
  11. On top of attacking quickly and frequently, a couple of Sj's abilities are on the expensive end. Specifically Spinning Strike, Shin Breaker and Crushing Uppercut.
If you weave any of those three abilities into your attack chain before you've gotten end reducers in them, you'll find yourself without endurance fairly quickly.

That's just what I've noticed, though.
I've been playing SJ/WP as well, I don't even want to imagine how bad a set like DA would be.
  12. I don't like how he's holding that weapon... left handed.

Looks really bad considering MA and SS are the "brawler" type powersets. Street Justice just looks like a last minute idea. The best move is the uppercut, and not by much.

Street Justice is basically the set I've wanted since I first started playing this game.
No extreme acrobatics or weird contortions like you'd find in MA. No explosions or "hulk smash" animations you'd get from SS. No fire, no darkness, no energy, no weapons.
Just a straight up beat down.

I love the set so far(Currently 22 as of this post). I'm looking forward to Shin Breaker and Crushing Uppercut. I find the animations to be fun looking.

As for the AoEs, my main, before I quit the game long ago was a Dm Scrapper. Also, every time I'd come back for a month or so, my newly created characters would all get and use Sands of mu. Lining up a tiny cone/aoe is pretty much second nature to me.

Combat Readiness is amazing, however, it only really starts to shine when you get your second finisher at 18.
3 combos -> Spinning Strike -> Combat Readiness -> Reposition and Sweeping Cross

It's the sexiest thing ever when one of the finishers crits.

Anyway, you're not going to feel that much of a hit for not taking CR right away.

I'm sorry, this made me laugh. It isn't that you're wrong, it's the you're right.
However, the whole DP thing is just sad, imo.

Basically, what you actually just said is: "DP shines when you rely heavily on your secondary."

So DP is awesome when you don't use DP.

That little lot tends to take out about 50% of the boss's health and mostly wipes out the rest of the group for up to +2 enemies (I do pack about +45% dam from IOs and Assault though...)

Mop up can be done with Psi shockwave and/or the other AoEs if required but mostly its just a case of jumping around plinking the boss until he falls.

Am I the only one that thinks that's far too much work to get something done?

There's this manga where healing bullets exist. It was about this Sorceress in a wild west type setting. So she, of course, had a revolver. She had a bunch of magic bullets, one of which healed one of the characters. He was shot and dying, so she shoots him in the chest with that "healing bullet".

    Hand Clap
    Hurl
    Foot Stomp

I was very disappointed when they removed Lightning Clap from Electrical Melee.

That's what you'd like to see, if they gave it to stalkers it would be like this:

    Jab
    Punch
    Haymaker
    Assassin's
    Build Up
    Placate
    Hand Clap
    Hurl
    Knockout Blow

But like I said, you wont get it. It doesn't fit the AT. It's like expecting the hulk to be able to assassinate anything quietly.
    *sneaks up to something*
    BLAM!
*all enemies in a 5 mile radius alerted to your presence*
  20. I only take it on Dark Melee/Blast characters.
When I don't need yet another attack that does negative energy dmg.
  21. I had the same problem. I got a Brute up through Praetoria and got the message when I hit 20. I logged out and went to check it out and wasn't able to. Select the Widow or the Wolf.
Then I logged into a villain in the 30s and logged out and I was able to start making VEATs.

Did you actually log into your villain in the 30s?

Oh, and I actually ran a mission with that villain. So try doing that. Try logging in to him, killing something, then logging out. If that doesn't unlock them, try doing a mission and see if that works.
  22. Don't know what it's going to be like later, but I just did the evil/good double missions with my Demons/Storm MM.
Protean just walked off the Freezing Rain patch and stayed off. He'd come close, get hit a couple more times and run away again.
What ended up being more useful was Hurricane and Snow Storm. He basically just slowly chased me around in circles while my demons plinked away at his health. When he did manage to get off a stun on me, he slaughtered my pets before I could do anything. So I had to retreat, resummon, rest up and run back.

Mother Mayhem in Praetoria was easier, as she didn't seem to have an resistance to knock back. I just kept her on her back with gust the whole time.
Those are elite bosses, though. AVs are a whole different ball game.

I think Dark and Poison would be better bets. Poison can neuter a single target quite well, unless they changed it since I last played a poison MM. Dark can neuter targets as well.
Both sets get you -dmg, -regen, slows, -res, -hit, and other goodies.

That is entirely my opinion and has little basis in fact. More of a feeling I get judging by what you get from the sets.
  23. I don't believe a "make sense" argument really works. Especially in this game.

Some auras are really bothersome to some people. They might like the rest of the set but that one power that has the aura.
Is it really so bad to give people the option to turn off or reduce the FX?

It isn't. Anyone arguing against it just wants to ***** about SOMETHING and don't really care what it is.

Really wish the Devs would stop making things people want as attacks for MMs long before they make their way onto powersets for other classes.
