As I understand it, it's better to go for type def rather than positional for WP...makes sense looking at the numbers.
I'm about to respec my Kat/WP. He's sitting on about 170 million inf and I was hoping you guys could recommend some affordable yet effective IO sets to help get the typed def where it needs to be. If possible, I'd really like to avoid those sets that cost 20 - 30 million per piece...again, IF possible. If not, at least I'll have another goal to work towards.
Here's where I left off before I realized that I was going the wrong direction with my build...not sure if helps but at least it has the powers I'm looking at...
As usual, I'm open to any and all suggestions...many thanks!

I'm nearly finished with my respec. I took it for a test drive last night...not even soft capped yet and WOW! I had a blast with him! Those Touch of Deaths are expensive! Still need 4 of them...

The Claws set really snuck up on me...I was enjoying it the entire time but I didn't start loving it until I got in the 40's... -

If I had a bunch of inf and was into all of the crazy AV stuff then I wouldn't do half of the stuff I did on this toon. I hope I can get into all of that someday but for now...just having fun doing PVE and some teaming here and there. -

Running a little faster when you are plenty fast enough isn't enough to lose a whole slot in. That slot could be used in so many other areas that will bring more then +run to the table.

Remeber that stealth suppresses to half its value while in combat. So if you are going to just achieve softcap with full stealth you will be under in actual combat.

Well, I'm not sure how MIDS is treating stealth. I'm sitting at 44.1 melee def...if I select Stealth it bumps up to 47.8. I don't know if it will display the "stealth turned off" setting. I think you're right though...should be fine even with half of the value. I think it will be around 45.95...does that sound about right?
Or I can do what I put in that third build and just put an extra slot in Dodge and CJ...although, I kinda like the idea of having both Stealth and the Stealth IO along w/ Quickness being 2 slotted...kinda breaks even for the speed reduction that Stealth gives ya... -

Or, I could just do this...I removed Stealth and added Hurdle.
Since I'm not running toggles (except for CJ) thanks to the lack of Stealth, Tough and Weave, I should be able to afford a minor hit on PP slotting. I removed two slots from PP and added one to Dodge and one to CJ. Melee def is now at 45.1 and I still have stealth from my Unbounded Leap IO.
Does this make more sense or is this just insane? I would LOVE to do things WAY differnetly but I just can't afford it at this time.

Wow...thanks for all of the input guys! I've used a bit from most of your builds to help influence this one. It will be awhile before i can afford it...especially the Touch of Death and Obliterations sets...those are always so expensive as are some of the GSFC set.
This guy is a concept/theme toon but I want him to be functional as well. I've posted about him before...this is my Predator tribute toon...that's why I wanted to keep Shockwave in addition to Eviscerate and why I added LBE and Stealth.
I didn't think it was going to be possible to soft cap for a "reasonable" amount without having Tough/Weave. SO glad to be rid of those...end drainers!
I'm softcapped on Ranged and AOE w/out Stealth but Melee is sitting at 44.1...so...close! Overkill when I turn Stealth on. I already have an Unbounded Leap - Stealth IO so, I figured that mixed w/ Stealth would be very Predator-like hehe
Does this look ok for a functional-tribute toon? I'm open to more suggestions.

I can't find an affordable way to reach the softcap, get Physical Perfection and keep both Eviscerate AND Shockwave without sacrificing Lucky.
This toon only has around 70 million but I can transfer over a bit more from others. Obviously, the Steadfast is gonna cost almost half of my inf by itself...
My AOE Def is at 44.2...melee and ranged are at 45.6 and 45.4.
Any suggestions are welcome!

I've noticed all of the high lvl builds skip Havok Punch...just curious as to why? Is it just the long animation time or? -

I pretty much stick to general teaming and some soloing here and there. I'd love to get into all of the AV and Pylon stuff but I don't think I'll ever have enough inf to pull that stuff off.
Still, you have a good point. I keep trying to get everything in one build since that's about all I can afford. -
maaaaan...now I'm even more confused on what do with this build! lol
I'm trying to work in a tiny bit of concept and add LBE but I'm having trouble getting it in there along w/ soft capping and having a good attack chain. Skipping Eviscerate seemed like it might be the way to go to fit LBE in but now I'm not so sure that I want to skip it!

I'd like to have Physical Perfection but...I think I'll be ok without it since Claws doesn't eat up too much end compared to other primaries... -
What's the current thought process on taking Eviscerate?
I'm getting close to 50 w/ my Claws/SR and preparing for my respec.
I like the damage but I can't help but wonder if my DPS would be better served by just skipping it since it takes a bit longer to animate.

Can anyone provide a good lvling build using just regular IO's? I have no clue how to build this guy.
I usually play Scrappers so I would prefer as much damage as possible while having good endurance recovery. I usually go with SJ for travel but if Hasten is needed for this build then I might go with SS if it works for the build.
All of my inf is tied up in my other toons so, this guy will be starting w/ next to nothing...I'll probably end up transferring a few million here and there so that I can at least afford the regular IO's.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! -

It's time to respec my Kat/WP and I wanted get some opinions from you guys.
I'd like to be able to hit the soft cap w/ one or two hits from DA.
I took Assault because I want to put out as much damage as possible.
I'm only looking to spend around 200 million inf right now which is why I don't have some of the better IO sets in there...yet...
I'm an end hog and usually can't stand for my end bar to move very much...I have the same slotting set-up for Quickness and Stamina on my DB/WP and I love it! That toon hasn't used Conserve Power in months and I'm going to respec out of it.
I'd really like to squeeze some more recharge and regeneration out of the build if possible.
If there's anything that you guys see that can be done more effectively, I'm all ears...well, eyes I suppose...

So, I used the bronze method (lvl 2? - 29) last night...holy crap...ya, I made about 70 million off of it in about 10 minutes or less...that's a lot for me...I've never had more than 53 million on one toon and now I have one with around 110 million...sweet! Plus I got another recipe that was going for around 60 million...I'm holding on to that one for now...had a pretty good haul last night!
I still didn't get the Steadfast though...I got the other two out of the set...TWICE EACH!!! lol
After that, I decided to give the AE a shot and solo a mish real quick...wow...the ticket returns kinda suck now...I ended up going back through any toon of mine that was lvl 30 or higher and seeing if they had tickets left...I found 3 that were ticket capped...hehe...gonna try to make some money and find that Steadfast tonight for one of my other toons! muahahaha!
