Can't quite reach the soft cap...

I am at 44.2 for my melee def and 42.3 for aoe def. I have about 23 million inf, most of which is going to some of the sets in this build. It's not a very expensive build but I just wanna hit the soft cap for now...I'll worry about more expensive slotting late in my toons career.

It's a theme toon so that's why Energy Torrent is slotted up the way it is and I'm only running the Attack Vitals combo.

Can anyone help me rearrange this a bit to get to the soft cap?

I'm not sure but from what I've read, I may have Physical Perfecion a bit over slotted...suggestions are welcome. I'm kind of an endurance hog...I admit it!

Thanks in advance.

Exactly. Snag one of the Steadfast Protection IOs for Tough. They aren't overly expensive and will allow you to hit softcap easily. You can just replace one of the Resist Damage SOs with it and Tough's resistances will still be capped. Usually they go for around 15 mil, so it's within your budget.

Also, you can remove a slot from Practiced Brawler - with one Recharge Redux + universal recharge you're perma.

I could suggest alot more to make it easier to soft cap and allow for alot of end reduction and +end sets, but it would cost more inf. Replacing the regular +Def and End edux SOs in your SR toggles/Weave with Gift of The Ancients would be helpful to squeeze out more end recovery.

edit: checked WW - Steadfast recipe going for 18-20 mil currently.

This was my leveling build and I found it fairly reasonable to acheive. I over the softcap acutally so I tighted up the build, but this should work for you to check out IO slotting and stuff.

While I would cahnge alot in that build, I respect that it's a theme build and have a few myself, that said the Steadfast protection Proc in one of your slots on Tough takes you over the top for soft capping. Badda-bing.

You can get the Steadfast Defense by doing Bronze Rolls.

Good luck with your build.

I didn't even look at the original build. why 4 slots on tough? I always found one is enough and I don't even run it.

I assume the OP has use for it, but I myself agree, I don't even put tough on my power tray. I actually two slot it, just because the non-unique of the Steadfast set can be snagged on the cheap and I think the set bonus grands Rec or some such.

Here's my build, my DB/SR natural scrapper is sitting at 46 currently and is alot of fun to play. I took body mastery as well, but instead of ET took PP (can you take ET without two preliminary picks from the epic set?). I also took attacks for both the AV and Sweep combos, I know however that you are not rolling the sweep combo, so thats your choice. For /SR I always 4-slot my toggles with Serendipities, they are dirt cheap and give decent bonuses for the set. I also only 2-slot the passives with standard defense IO's. That generally gets me to the softcap easily and lets me be free in my slotting of my attacks for whatever works best without having to worry about full sets of Mako's for ranged defense or ToD's for that added melee defense. And the Steadfast unique is a must, like others have mentioned, not terribly expensive and quite easy to get.

I just have it as insurance for those times when an attacks gets through my defense. I'm open to suggestions though.

Ok, here's the latest build. Thanks for all of your input on this guys. I was trying to avoid paying 20 mill for the Steadfast but I just happened upon a 60 mill IO and sold it...boom...Steadfast hehe.

If its not too late. roll bronze 24- 29. you will hit it. In fact if its too late, still do it. you probably have another toon to use it or sell it to make your money back.

edit: Too many slots in tough. you just need the one for steadfast. your only dropping 5% resistance and thats assuming you will even run it(I don't bother)

Your leaving too many 2 slot bonus on the table.

2xLoTG = more regen
2xSerendipity = more regen
2xGoTA = More recovery (although you don't need it so much)

Your perf shifter proc always, always always goes first.

Only one slot swiftness and quickness

Ok here is something I came up with. Melee def is spot on but too much Ranged. I know you said you didn't want to break the bank and this is moderately more expensive but still no purples or HamiOs.

What you get with this setup that you didn't have before

355% regen
67.5% global recharge (I just used 2 LoTG +rech but you can fit in more)
your recovery is more then enough.

D'oh! lol

I tried it but I didn't get one...and I tried quite a bit. I'll give it another shot as saving 18 - 20 million inf is always worth it! Now that I think of it, I think I was rolling on the bronze 30+ catergory...hmmmm...I'll try again. Thanks!

Ya, I have another /SR theme toon that's going to need one as well.

With all of the Secondary Shields, Weave and CJ 3 slotted with standard IO's plus the Steadfast Unique and Gausians in Focused Accuracy I'm softcapped on mine.

I guess it varies from server to server but on the EU server Union I can usually pick up a Steadfast Enhancement (not recipe) for about 8 - 9 million inf.

I usually have to wait a couple of days, but it's worth it.

L50s: Tanks: Cryofission - Ice/EM - Dr Celsius - Fire/Ice - Saint George - SD/SS | Controllers: Psichosis - Ill/Kin - Major Chaos - Ill/Stm | Scrappers - Neutron Crusader - DM/SR

Currently Levelling: Angelic Blade - BS/WP Scrapper | Seeds of Destruction - Plant/Kin Controller

yep the max level is 30 on steadfast. if you pick a range higher, it will never come up.

I was thinking that since I wanted the lvl 30 Steadfast that I needed to start in that bronze group...well...it made sense at the time seeing how the next bronze group starts at lvl 30...heh...

Thanks!

the level of the recipe is the type or your level. i.e. steadfast is 10 - 30 so once your level 30 or higher you get the level 30. But you want to cut out the level 25 IOs. I might be wrong on the level range, it might be 26 - 29.

I can do you one better than that, roll in the 10-14 bronze and you'll get that Steadfast unique quicker. There are fewer recipes in that lowest group so your chances of getting either the Steadfast Unique or Steadfast -KB are greater. And if your current level is 30+, once you win it out of the 10-14 grouping, it'll automatically be a level 30 recipe.

Nice! I'll be trying this tonight for sure.

In the last days of AE..../sigh

When I still had tickets thats how I made my money. There are actually a few good rares that can pop up in that 10-14 bronze range, the karma -KB and also one of the regen unique's. I've sold quite a few of all of them back when I had the tickets.

Posted

That was the only thing I was using AE for...making money off of tickets...ah well. I've only run AE once since I16 hit...wow...doesn't really seem worth the time now...

Posted

Just as an FYI...I just bought a lvl 15 Res/Def crafted for 15mil, and might hav ebeen able to go a little cheaper. Didn't really shop around too much. Darn impulsive buying....

@Nurse Donna
You can find me on Infinity, Exalted, Liberty and sometimes on Virtue or Freedom

I have found a few arcs for my 50 to run for tickets. it gets the job done but no where in the time I was able to pre-I16. I was capping tickets in about 12 - 15min a run.

What server are you on???? heh

So, I used the bronze method (lvl 2? - 29) last night...holy crap...ya, I made about 70 million off of it in about 10 minutes or less...that's a lot for me...I've never had more than 53 million on one toon and now I have one with around 110 million...sweet! Plus I got another recipe that was going for around 60 million...I'm holding on to that one for now...had a pretty good haul last night!

I still didn't get the Steadfast though...I got the other two out of the set...TWICE EACH!!! lol

After that, I decided to give the AE a shot and solo a mish real quick...wow...the ticket returns kinda suck now...I ended up going back through any toon of mine that was lvl 30 or higher and seeing if they had tickets left...I found 3 that were ticket capped...hehe...gonna try to make some money and find that Steadfast tonight for one of my other toons! muahahaha!

Given the choice I'd rather get a unique at the earliest level possible so it still works when I'm exemped down. As it is, I'm leveling my ElM/SD scrapper doing flashback missions, mostly tracking down which arc is going to be my golden goose, ie. gives the most Merits for the time invested. Those also tend to give the biggest xp bonus at the end as long they last more than 2 or 3 missions (which also have a solid merit/minute ratio).
