  1. I, too, will miss the various roles support ATs carried on a team. I was extremely happy to learn that support meant more than just "heal me!", but it meant that I was able to neuter the enemies, make tanks out of squishies and actually provide damage! I'm especially sad to see this game go. It was my first MMO and was a way for me to gain some sanity through working on my masters and doctoral degrees. Now, I need to find another outlet to get away from academic's and music. :-(

  2. You have to remember that this power is a regen/recovery power, not a direct heal to either bar (like Stygian Circle). It works great, the more enemies you have. I've been able to cap my regen and recovery on my Dom easily by jumping in the middle of a group. This power is what saves my Dom's tail every time by helping me recover from the alpha strike.

    It's best used at the beginning of a mob instead of at the end when you think you might need it. It will keep your health and stamina high rather than make it go from 0% to 100% quickly, although it will do the latter eventually.
  3. I think you've been misinformed. Peacebringers and Warshades do gain resistance and damage due to their team makeup though.

    For every Blaster, Scrapper, Brute and Stalker, PB's get 10% more resistance, and WS's get 10% more damage.
    For every Tank, Mastermind, Corruptor and Defender, PB's get 10% more damage and WS's get 10% more resistance.
    For Controllers/Dominators, they get a point of Mez Protect each.
    For other Epic ATs, they get 10% Recharge Slow Resistance.

    So while you don't copy the powers, for every teammate in range, you do get a bonus to your own resistance/damage/Mez Protection
  4. You can slot Vengeance with recharge through IOs (def/rech, tohit/recharge, Adjusted Targeting and any of the heal sets recharge, etc.)

    One of the most controller-y sets I've ever played was my Earth/Storm. Without much recharge, I could basically keep 3 groups of enemies at bay at all times, and still had other controls ready on long recharges for other groups. It's also got plenty of room for procs, so you can load up on damage also, and plenty of debuffs (just no -regen).
  5. soft-capping /SD isn't bad at all. I only have the steadfast +3% def and have it soft-capped. I also don't have a self heal, and don't notice it as much. I can usually run off from the group and solo a few mobs without any issues. My toons also aren't just swimming in influence, so I didn't spend a terrible amount of it to get there as well, but I was very frugal and patient about getting money (and good drops from AE Tickets!).

    I will say that I recently played an ITF and the team started following me instead of the tank, and the only time I came close to death was at the beginning of the last mish with the /dark troller herding mobs to the top of the bridge for us to kill and I sat below 25% health for a while, but between the +regen procs and set bonuses, I never went down (I was surprised as well!). It's a FUN FUN FUN set to play and an AoE monster!

  7. I actually think that something and /kin would be great, maybe water blast. Kinetics literally is stealing the life force of an enemy and making it yours (siphon speed, siphon power, transfusion, transference, etc.), and water blast colored in red would look like blood. Kinetics is also a very melee oriented set, even though it's coupled with a ranged AT.

    Too many arcs/missions was my other guess but has already been said.
  9. I really like my storm/dark defender. It's almost like having a /storm troller with playing as a dark. You also get a small but useful self-heal which storm/ lacks.

  12. I have a sonic/ defender and sonic dispersion is now a little more granular and when colored tan, looks like sand particles floating around you. It would also be something not too common anymore. Liquify could also be quicksand for you.
  13. There is a program called SplashTop that will allow you to run your computers from your phones/tablets. I've used it to log into the game (really just when I was out of town, and wanted to check something on another account while the game was running on my laptop).

    On another note..I've used the program to email files from my computer to my tablet, and access MS Word before I got DocsToGo. It's quite useful, especially now that I don't need to carry my computer to school anymore.
  14. Maybe the other games have been optimized to use less memory? I haven't tried it lately, but when Champions came out, I tried it and it was so choppy for me I couldn't play it. I had a good 5-10 second delay of hitting jump and actually jumping. Yet...CoH plays perfectly fine (other than my internet giving it problems every now and again, but that's an ISP problem).

    The help staff helped me when I came back and was having some problems with my client freezing on my desktop (not on my laptop though). It was something with my video card not being compatible at the time when it updated its software. I reverted back to an older version for a while. I recently went back to a new one and it is now fine. Try shooting a request to them and seeing if they can do anything to remedy the situation.

    Just to fix a factual error to anyone else that may be checking this out. HEATS (Warshades and Peacebringers) don't have access to hero epic pools. They have extra powers in their primary and secondary from which to choose.

    /storm help.

    I like Storm/Dark on my def, but Dark/Storm on corr would be great also. I probably would have made one of these instead of my def had I not made it before you could roll corrs blueside.
  17. One of my first toons to not have to look at the end bar is my elec/time troller. Conductive Aura is just that good!
    My WS looks at the end bar while it refills it, but even before getting Stygian, I'm normally in one of the forms.
    A teaming defender is probably pretty good on end also, especially one where you're not expected the keep the team's green bars at full. My Ta/A never had stamina until I came back from a hiatus and it was inherent.
  18. You know, I think the end drain resistance in Dwarf would be a nice touch. If you're stuck in middle of a carnie mob tanking, once they die, you're left out in the cold!

    Yes, but not every power is a every situation kind of thing...
    Would (Should) an emp defender use a heal when the whole team is at 100% health?
    Would a blaster use a nuke if here were one minion in the battle?

    I would prefer to not have to chase things down (as a melee or ranged character) to go defeat them. Essentially, there's a time to use every type of power. Some powers are meant to be used often, and others, not so much.
  20. You get a lot of Psi resistant mobs around this time. Just hang in there, rely on Tar Patch to help you do damage, and get on teams.

  22. Just read pretty quickly, but why doesn't thermal match with Demons? Doesn't the Ember Demon cast a kind of thermal shield clone?
  23. just remember that after you reach 30, you must go to the City Hall Rep and do the mission to unlock auras. (just like the capes at level 20).

  25. I'm in the same boat with perma PA also, and trying to figure out what to do next. I figured that I'd go with Musculature Alpha to help build up more damage and End mod, Probably barrier for defense/res (or Clarion for mez prot), and after that...I'm pretty unsure!
