I was new to the game and my SGmates suggested I try doing human only first to get a feel for the AT. I did take Nova at first (which made the lower levels a breeze) but I eventually fleshed out the story for my PB and went human only with Lightform being the only alternate state of being she had available due to her host making a sacrifice during their career as superheroes. Plus she was never happy with looking all gross and stuff and did her absolute best to never, ever shift.
As for the changes and some of the gripes. I have to drop to human form on my warshade in order to get hasten to fire off. Oh and to max my resist. To massively heal up and rebuild end. Oh and to get my fluffies. And for my awesome gravity crushing power that drops a foe pretty quickly (for more fluffies) or at least holds them in place. Oh and to fire off one of my two mires. And yes, I do admit that the powers (such as the mire) encourage the shape shifting dance quite a bit with the WS and not as much with the PB. -
Quote:Ugh. I know, covered before in other conversations but it still really bothers me. You can use a clip to quickly reload a magazine or a revolver and if he was using a revolver he may have had a clip or two to quickly re-load it.
unloaded his entire clip
Other than that I really enjoyed the story and hope that we have not read the last on Det. Ghaly. -
I skipped Hasten on my Kat/DA and instead slotted for a bit of recharge so I could get a good attack groove on. I am not softcapped but close enough that I can stand toe to toe with a lot of things. Truthfully being close to the cap means I can wait an extra moment for a particular power to recharge if I want to finish someone off with a bit of flair and style.

Well if my boss knew I had planned on calling out today, he would thank you for making sure that I had nothing better to do and thus head into the real world day job.

Yep, that is how I can usually tell when it is over especially when doing a BAF when I tend to zoom out a bit. You cannot see the aura at all and a tiny flashing icon when the entire screen is flashing from powers being triggered...

Way overpriced, no thanks. As much as I want the Knives of Artemis costume pieces I would not even pay that much for them.
Better luck next time NCSoft. -
Yes, you were! I did the same thing after I had to hit the hospital that once (or maybe twice). I could have sworn I was following the path already taken between the teleport point to where the group was but I ran into 4 groups of baddies. Fortunately the fly power was fast enough for me to catch up to the group and leave them behind. Maybe after I finish her build I might jump into the middle of things a bit more. I had Des for most of the beginning and found that sitting in the middle where the healing was hitting while playing blaster worked well for keeping her out of trouble. It is nice to be able to switch between melee and blaster and watch things melt away. Now I just need a bit more recharge for LF and Inner light, and... everything.

I have had to go through it a few times now. I expect that if the trend continues I will have to reset again in 48 hours. Very frustrating.

I have a young claws/ea on the VIP server. Very nice combo. Sturdy.

I added a tiny bit of extra recharge into a very old build that I have yet to update for the last few issues. I never finished it but D'Argon was still very scrappy.
The changes to the PB did not look overly promising when reading the words on the forum during beta but the actual impact in game has been pretty nice.
So after a bit of added recharge (just 7.5%) and a very low amount of extra energy defense I decided to run her through the Underground Trial last night. Very impressed with what I was able to do as a blapper. Still working on getting the groups to fall just right with the new hand clap (love not having to go to ground for this attack!).
I only hit lightform two or three times during the trial as the rest of the group was doing an excellent job of listening to the leader and keeping us all rolling through at a good pace. My heals came up nice and quick but I need a bit more recharge to really utilize the new LF and to keep me at perma 1659 hitpoints. Inner light was up for almost every single group. -
I love costumes and will spend a lot of time in Icon picking out a new outfit but I loved the flowing, glowing ball of light. It let everyone know that I was in kick butt mode. Plus way easier to see the crash when in the middle of three mobs intent on killing you. Khelds are forms, each with an utility to be mastered. Even though my Warshade is constantly shifting I do not bemoan the loss of seeing her outfit when in dwarf or nova. It is part of the package.
However, the change is made and all I can hope for is that they will offer the old animation as an alternative.
Love the handclap change so now I can stay in hover and knockdown the troublemakers before launching an all out assault. -
A good start to overhauling the PB. However, I HATE the new animation for Lightform with a vengeance. I want my old awesome looking flowing ball of light.

I am looking forward to being able to purchase the energy wings from the celestial armor set some time in the far, far future.
Cannot wait to log on as my scrappy human form PB and see how she performs with the couple of minor changes that were done. -
I think I am going to delete my only redside character (who is the sister of a blueside character. The "hero" having stolen her sister's tech design for fame and fortune.) and re-roll her as some sort of electricity blaster.
If Beam is not too pricey I will probably re-create my beam/nrg blaster from beta. She was incredibly sturdy through the lower levels, especially with disintegrate which helped out when I accidentally agro'd an entire room of Arachnos (stupid lag jump).
Plus I may re-create my fave character, a kat/da, on the new VIP server. -
I would probably go with my first toon: Kat/DA Scrapper. She is IO'd out for defense. Enough to survive and perform rather well but not completely max'd out.
Why that toon?
She's a lot of fun and I really enjoy running on teams but she can also solo most missions easily. -
Quote:Reminded me of the quote from the original, `The Crow` comic book:The main question of all of the Praetorian content, and real life, is....."do the ends really justify the means?".
There is more than one way to purify the soul . . . .
There is absolution and redemption, salvation and a means to an end.
And if some of these axioms are of opposing polarities there is, at least, some consolation in the fact that they have a common ground. -
I was popping in to link to the ever present DK guide but he beat me to it. The guide has become so well known that when I join a team with my WS I am often asked if it is a MF'ing Warshade to which I reply, "Damn straight".
Strangely enough I am looking to do an alt build that is human only. I ran on a TF yesterday that just steamrolled everything (Moonfire so no Incarnate powers in play) so quickly that I decided to mostly stick to human form unless things became a bit hairy (which they did two or three times and it was nice to my alternate attacks (not forms! LOL) then but I like to think that if I had a properly put together human form that I would not have needed to shift at all). -
I have a defensive long range Elec/Nrg build but she is nowhere near the softcap on her own. She does wonderfully in the iTrials although every once in awhile I get way too much love from NS during the BAF.
What is nice is that with the Incarnate powers I can finally add some of the extra damage I have been missing.
Welcome back and sorry that you were met by the idiot brigade. -
I love becoming a ball of light and will miss the animation. Looking forward to the other changes but a damage buff would have been nice. As far as KB goes, I love it and have used it to save my butt and my teammates as well.

I used to try and avoid TFs where people were looking for specific ATs but then ended up on a couple with experienced TF types who looked at the assembled mass and deemed that we would need to plug a hole or two so that it would be a fun run rather than a huge fight to finish. Now I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but if they try spending 20 minutes to recruit that last person chances are I will wander off.

I used the LFG function to join 8 BAFs this weekend while I was badge hunting on one of my toons so I would argue that it does work. I have even been on a few Lambdas but have never been brought into a Keyes.
For lower level there is always broadcast depending on how active the server and/or city zone happens to be. -
Ugh. The only NPC costume pieces I want are from the KoA. That is all. Willing to spend 400 points even. Every Halloween event I keep going until I score the temp outfit and run with it on one of my main toons until it expires.
::keeping fingers crossed:: -
Quote:Last night on my human form only PB I had the same problem with Nightstar repeatedly. As soon as I even started walking towards her I started getting warnings and had to spend the BAF using my ranged attacks. That was with a tank on our team (we were doing the gotta keep em separated badge). First time that has ever happened again and again and again. Very frustrating and yes, a good ole common at the end.The AVs seem to be really variable in the time it takes to get the rings, which can make it hard to avoid. On a trial earlier this week, I had moved out to let the rings fade. Then I queued Knockout Blow on Siege and jumped back in. Before it finished animating, I had 2 warnings, right after it hit, I was sequestered.

I love my Kat/Da and I am super glad I chose that combo for my first ever toon. Taught me so much about endurance management and waiting for the late game to super shine. Then I found the forums and IO'd her out as much as I could (and have not changed her build since i17).
Anyway, I found that getting the Perf Shifter +End and I think it is the Numina proc that gives regen and recovery bonuses are easily obtained by doing a few TFs and also picking up the exploration badges in each part of PC as you level up (5 merits per collection). By the time you hit ~ level 41 you should be able to have a few uniques from the merits plus the TF accolade. If you run some of the story arcs those will yield even more merits. This is the route I am going with my Inv/DB (another endurance beast atm) and it has helped tremendously.
If you do not have time to complete story arcs take advantage of the autocomplete every 3 days.
