I love this suggestion. That to me is what they should have done to this power.
  2. I just got a MBP this past weekend and I am liking it so far. Its just kind of hard to play coh using the trackpad. I am thinking of getting another mouse just for this though. Any suggestions? Normally I would just go with a razor naga mouse again but I dont want to spend $100+ just for all those extra buttons. Any suggestions for something good for CoH on mac?

This is good to know because it was getting to the point where teams are not allowing time manipulation players on teams thinking that they are causing it. I know its retarded but you know how players are on some servers.
  4. Right now I have it running in a vm at work and I hate it. I do not know what the hell MS was thinking with that metro ui thing. Its just so fugly, I hope they change it for desktops or give an option to opt out of the UI to get the old one back.

^^^This. I plan on getting it for all the toons with Gawd mode powers. Being able to restart unstoppable, elude and others right after the crash is going to be pretty sweet. The end penalty is pretty much negated since those powers grant a recovery bonus anyways except for the 20 second downtime on Elude.
  6. There is a mission on the positron tf part 1 where you have to enter a building to stop the Vahz. Its the one with the Facemaker. I know if you have someone to drop from the team before this mission starts you will get caught in an infinite loop that causes you to have to keep repeating this mission over and over again when you call the contact. I put in a petition but the gms did not come in time. The way we resolved it is by having players to log off and back on. Whats so funny about this is we had people on the team accusing the time manipulation characters of causing this time loop.

I recognize that one of the major hurdles is a balance-significant one. Of all the things players can do, only one of them really earns rewards: damage. Kills generate rewards. Buffs don't, debuffs don't, and not even unlimited survivability can generate rewards in the general case. Only damage can do that. All the other things can do is help damage. So if your target for defense is X, and you end up giving someone 100 times X, or worse Granite Armor, that is only a minor problem in the grand scheme of things: Granite Armor doesn't show up as even a blip in their data mining statistics.

But you give blasters twice the damage they have now, and that would create a game-breakiingly large spike in their performance numbers. So its for Blasters, and *only* for Blasters that the devs' aim must be true. And I don't think they trust their own aim in that context.
I disagree with you. Blasters are still gonna face plant just as much as they do now on teams. Solo things might actually get better if you can manage to kill them before they kill you but on teams its not going to be that way. Look at every other mmo out there that has a range AT that is similar to blasters in every instance I have seen they are way more survivable than blasters by far. They either have pets or actual control abilities that do something to save you instead of just get you plucked off (shakes fist at all blaster single target immobilize). In other games the mobs do not out range you so yeah range is actual defense for them instead of the lie that range is defense for blasters when all mobs have range attacks that either meet or exceed our range. So until they fix this they can not justify the blaster squishieness vs defenders/corrupters survivability. Either give blasters the damage they deserve or fix the issue of them having no defenses.

For some strange reason they think players actually pick it for control stacking. It should do damage and alot more than foot stomp. Blasters as a whole need alot more damage.

No. Just no simply because the +recharge powers do not work on the pets. There is no point to playing this set or any set that boosts recharge on a mastermind simply because you get little to no benefit. Sure the last power might make your other powers recharge but thats not going to help you as much as it would a defender or corrupter that actually has attacks that does real damage. I am only doing time on defenders and corrupters.
  11. I am cool with a buff to revive but if and only critters do not get this version of revive. Mog for critters is already the equivalent to them saying "F U your not getting full xp for me!!!!" due to the heal to full outside damage the power causes for them. I be damned if they get to do it twice to me. If they fix the mog xp problem then critters can get revive.
  12. Just checking with you guys to see if there was anything else said about what doms are going to get later on since they did not get squat for issue 21.
  13. I would never bother with sonic. Ninjas will need healing regardless. You can stack all the -tohit and defense all you want they still will die. To me the best and easiest pairing for ninjas has always been thermal. Enough resists where they do not out right get 1 shotted and you have a heal to patch them up as needed. Anything else is just madness simply due to the squishie nature of them. This is one powerset that truely needs to be looked at. Yeah in a perfect world where ninjas dont get 1 shotted they could theoretically do the most single target damage but they die way too fast to even be able to use it which is why they need a buff that adds some resistance to them and a heal.

And if this is happening way out in Atlas Park 6 and 8, I SHUDDER to think what it's like in instances 1-3 when they're packed.
Phasing technology? I remember seeing that some where. How exactly does that work?

And in what degree is elec/shield so powerful? their 2 mini-nukes once in while? Per activation they are pretty equal to many other AoE powers.
Once in a while? those things are up more often than the real nukes. Meaning you can take out more mobs alot faster with those powers. Again the +4 thing is the only way I can currently justify the crash when you compare it to say those other powers. Why use it if the others can do the same thing better with no problems and more often. Its gotta be +4. And in terms of the survivabilty comment you made, you know how teams play these days with players with wierd builds that do not support others and blasters hit the dirt more so than anyone else I think its only fair they do more damage.
  16. If Synapse is reading this I have a question. Why do nukes even have to have a crash to begin with? Its not like how thing used to be where we could herd all the mobs on the map into a single trash can and kill them all or at least most of them with a single blaster using a nuke at the damage cap. There is absolutely no reason why we have to have a crash now let alone the pathetic damage of the crashless nukes being so low. I have always looked at nuking from a comic book perspective as the person giving their all almost to the point of passing out but having it truely make a difference. Meaning all mobs effected should die.

I think at the very least for blasters nukes if they have to have a crash should kill everything from a boss to lower thats up to +4 levels than the blaster. I mean come on you are giving up a full bar of endurance and not able to recover for 20 seconds. Thats a long time if you do not have allies who can buff your end or you do not have cabs. Whats worse is that blasters are the only AT thats butt-bootie naked in terms of defense compared to the other ATs. I have always felt that blasters should do way more damage than they do to justify their squishieness. Practically every other MMO I have ever played that has ranged characters are way more survivable than blasters. Giving blasters something like this is not overpowered compare to what some of the other ATs already do with elec/shields and/or incarnate powers with bigger target caps. For the most part you guys have made the other powersets and incarnate powers totally make using a tier 9 power pointless so why not give it something worth using again, and finally buff up the crasheless nukes as well so they are worth using.
  17. I am not sure why this wasnt fixed in beta but the spawns for the arachnos mobs with the capes in atlas park do not spawn fast enough. Same thing for the kill skulls missions. Next week when we have all these new players trying to do these quests there will not be enough mobs spawning to do this in a timely manner. You pretty much have to instance hop just to find enough mobs to kill without this taking an hour to do. Now at the same time its not a good idea to have the mobs to instantly respawn but more so have just more spawns just added to the area to make this less of an issue. Or tweak it so more of the arachnos mobs with the capes to show up and more skullz spawn points too.
  18. Sorry I am a bit late to this discussion, had to deal with the damn forum log in bug that does not take my password. Ultimus if you want to save a bit of money on this upgrade this is what you should do. Others have suggested that you get the uprgrade version of windows. You do not have to pay hundreds of dollars to get it if you are a student or know someone who is a student that is willing to buy it for you. if you go to www.microsoft.com/student they offer the software at an extremely discounted price of $30 for the upgrade version of windows 7 professional and $70 for microsoft office 2010. Yeah this is a legit deal because I have family members who bought it this way as well as students at the college that I do desktop support for now. Keep in mind with an upgrade version of windows YOU HAVE TO START THE INSTALLATION FROM WITHIN WINDOWS. This is the only way to get it to use your product key, otherwise it will not activate your copy of windows.

Now if you already have windows 7 and its 32-bit you do not have to buy another version of it, you just need 64-bit media. It does not matter if its retail or oem media. All non-volume license media is the same. From windows vista going forward the windows installation does not care what disc you use no matter what its labeled as (retail, upgrade, or oem) it only checks for what key is used and whether the installation started at boot up or from within windows (if you have an upgrade key).

As the others have said you will have to do a clean install going from 32 to 64 bit but if your using the upgrade key it has to be started from within windows. If for some reason you want to put it on a new blank hard drive then all you have to do is install it twice, but on the first install skip putting in the product key and on the 2nd install start it from inside of windows and choose custom install. Again this too is legit because this is the only way to do a "clean" install with an upgrade key. This behavior of the way upgrades work for windows 7/vista is by design. While it does seem like a bit of a headache to do 2 installs you can always create a image backup file of you final tweaked install so that in the future you just restore the image to that drive. This will in turn save you tons of time in the long run. If you have questions on getting it setup let me know and may be able to assist you in this.

Which goes to show how out of touch the devs are with this game. How are powers like LS and VS overperformers? I know when I first heard it I was extremely angry because it proved right then and there they play a completely different game than us if they thought those powers were overpowered.

I totally agree with the comment on LS. I pretty much shelved my stormy due to this. If they had allowed the cloud to at least follow you to make up for the nerf I could have dealt with it better.

    • Pet Powers Change:
      • Recharge times on pet attack powers will no longer be affected by any outside source. This includes buffs and debuffs. What this means is that pets can no longer have the recharge time on their powers increased by player buffs (like Speed Boost) or their recharge time decreased by player or NPC debuffs. This change was made to allow pets to correctly cycle through their attacks instead of getting locked on using the same attack over and over and neglecting to use other available powers.
Sad part is this didnt fix a damn thing it just made most of the melee pets alot worse. Maybe one day they will have sense enough to revisit this and undo this crap that butchered pets and so many possible power combinations.

Voyager was only epic phail due to them having the worst captain ever. She always constantly put the lives of her in danger just to take a pit stop to explore when they should have kept going towards home. So many lives were needlessly lost due to her stupidity. Even 7 of 9 commented on this.
  23. They can do a new one just so long as it respects the original timeline and it totally ignores what that movie that butchered the series and created way too many plot holes and paradoxes that the fabric of the universe will cave in if another series or movie is made following that time line.

That's what Incarnate Trials remind me of.

The funny thing about this is that no matter how unfair the AVs unresistable/unavoidable damage may seem, they are still beatable. Some people have already expressed their feelings in that this game content is still too easy. Which doesn't surprise me, when everyone is using Incarnate powers.

I dislike the concept of untyped/unavoidable/unresistable damage for different reasons than most people who have posted here already. The OP pointed out his concerns over an equality issue that lies within the trials in relation to this whole damage debate, whilst some have said that the equality is a good thing because it supposedly makes the trials fairer, as was the intention of the devs.

But therein lies the problem. The problem with the damage when it comes to trials is that it succeeds but also fails to make everyone balanced. One hit kill +1hp moves is the biggest example of this because regardless of archetype, and thus their individual health, buffs per player, and any other values that defines each character as an individual, everyone gets hit by this silly attack that treats everyone the same. That isn't how it should be. Why should tankers (technically) lose more health than a defender? The One Hit Kill rule is a paradox when it comes to fairness, and as a result Incarnate Trials have succeeded in maintaining an illusion of fairness which if anyone were to stop and think about it, would realize that the whole purpose of Untyped Damage doesn't make sense. It's self defeating.

No matter what way you look at it, 1% of a tankers health has more value than 1% of a defenders health. To sum up OHKO's, they actually disadvantage certain players rather than make everything fair. A lot of you probably just don't know that. And by implementing this stupid rule in Trials, it therefore negates the true effectiveness of teamwork, Incarnate Powers as a whole and an individual players capability to participate in Trials. Yes, it is unfair that Blasters might not be able to take as much damage overall as a Tanker, but that's the whole point of this game. You choose one option whilst sacrificing the other, and Incarnate Trials have completely turned this game onto its head and messed this up all together.
Very good analogy using mk64. I had the hardest time beating that setting until I realize how it was programed to cheat. So in realizing that I learned to play differently by eliminating certain cars. THe problem with CoX is that you dont have the option to cheat back, so its much more frustrating when the AVs do cheat.
