Not enough critters to kill for the new lowbie missions

I am not sure why this wasnt fixed in beta but the spawns for the arachnos mobs with the capes in atlas park do not spawn fast enough. Same thing for the kill skulls missions. Next week when we have all these new players trying to do these quests there will not be enough mobs spawning to do this in a timely manner. You pretty much have to instance hop just to find enough mobs to kill without this taking an hour to do. Now at the same time its not a good idea to have the mobs to instantly respawn but more so have just more spawns just added to the area to make this less of an issue. Or tweak it so more of the arachnos mobs with the capes to show up and more skullz spawn points too.

The respawns were actually plenty fast on Beta, they seem to have nerfed it for live.
I o agree with the sentiment though, spending an hour to complete a street hunt of 5 mobs is insane.

This is true. The other day we were standing around waitng for Arachnos commanders to spawn near the pylons. That was never an issue in Beta. Some people thought respawns were too fast, but if they adjusted it for that reason they went too far.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

I've been noticing problems with the phasing technology.

Several of the hunt missions were nearly unable to be completed due to the enemies not phasing in. You'd see their victims sitting their cringing, but there'd be no enemies to fight in the various parking lots and courtyards.

And if this is happening way out in Atlas Park 6 and 8, I SHUDDER to think what it's like in instances 1-3 when they're packed.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Phasing technology? I remember seeing that some where. How exactly does that work?

Yeah, I think this has to do with phasing.

Phasing is a system that puts people with the same mission in their own alternate reality, where bad guys exist for the mission at hand. This allows you to have an effect on the apparent world, so that the area you cleared Hellions out of will have cops there after you complete it.

Edit: this was done to reduce the need for instances, which are very CPU intensive. Since there are so many lowbies, it saves a lot of processing to have everyone in an open zone, but phasing allows you to see different things than people who are doing other tasks.

That's the key phrase. Another hero standing right next to you will see different NPC's and enemies in the area - unless they are on your team and a mission is active, then everyone sees the same thing.

Re the thread topic: Oh joy, spawn camping comes to CoH.

I have actually had the reverse experience on the servers on which I play. There have never been a shortage, for me, of ANY of the mobs for the Kill X missions on EITHER side (blue/red). In fact, they sometimes re-spawn too FAST. I think when the Devs turned down the spawn speed, they did it just about perfect.

Had to pull Longbow into the courtyard in Mercy so my team could kill them.

Decided not to wait for the Legacy Chain Runes when we arrived and found several people standing around an empty area.

Please, please reconsider the spawn rate.
