I drop those two that always always always send you to Independence Port.
Doubly so since they're both against Arachnos. -
Slotting the SoA set in Psychic Scream for my Fortunata is fantastic fun. Watching a good bit of the spawn start cowering during my AoE salvo is so very satisfying... even if they're dead shortly after regardless.

Quote:And the next time you buy points for something you actually like because you spent them on these supposedly terrible Super Packs? You're still spending more money and proving the Super Packs are working as intended... generating profit.I had points left over from buying other stuff (Costume slots, enhancement trays, yada yada) and, judging from the reports of other posters who got the 24 bundle stuff, of close to, I figured it was worth the risk. I was right.
That still doesn't detract from the point that I'm not buying anymore. That's it. That's the one off shot they had. So good luck to 'em.
Even better than intended if people openly opposed to them spend points on them anyway. -
-
If the supposed "morality" of gambling had any real weight here, the Packs would not have hit the market.
The fact that posters who refused to buy the Packs on principle balked and spent points on them anyway... in this very thread even... speaks more loudly to the decision makers than anything else in this thread. -
Really? It was obvious to me it was Sands incognito... like that whole "put on glasses and no one recognizes him" schtick from comics. I thought it was kinda funny.
Obviously I was wrong. The devs are horrible lazy slack jaws who couldnt be bothered to make a single contact character because they were too busy not listening to the playerbase again.
Disgusting and sad. -
Dont blame the freems for using the only channel they have access to to help themselves form teams.
-
I'm liking my StJ/Fire scrapper.
Lots and lots of damage... and built for enough defense to keep her standing most of the time. Not the most survivable character in my stable, but she's absolute hell on wheels and fun to play -
I could watch that video of me punching the crap outta Rommy all day! And those are nice action shots too... I never looked so good!
......I'm gonna leave before my head gets much bigger...
Awesome stuff! -
So the devs would have to somehow nerf the XP affecting powers from the Market that people paid real money for, and also make a pass over game content to disallow DXP from taking affect in certain areas...
And if they dont... MARTy would probably explode. Or at least the playerbase would when they all start missing rewards.
And you wonder why I think its not likely to happen anymore. -
Quote:It may not be doubled, but stacked with an Experienced boost I get for free it comes close enough for a while. It's 25% only lasts an hour and doesn't work while you're defeated.
It is in no way a substitute for Double XP Weekend.
Personally, I'd rather have a small bonus that I can fit into my playtime when I want it rather than rescheduling my weekend around to take advantage of when the devs decide to have a Double XP Weekend.
Of course... I would not be opposed to doing that DURING a Dbl Xp weekend either. At least to really see how insane the DFB could really become. -
I think we're more likely to see a huge price cut on XP boosters on the Market for a weekend or something before we see another Dbl XP weekend.
I know I bought 30 of the things during Black Friday... still havent used them all yet. -
Rule 1 - Play my role.
When I team, especially PuG... I try to play my character like I would expect/hope them to be played if I invited them. I play my tanks with aggro generating a priority, I play my defenders with keeping buffs and HP up on the team and debuffs on the enemies. If my controller lets that Sapper nuke anyones end or that Paragon Protector pop his ******* MoG because its not locked down... or if my Scrapper isnt obliterating anything and everything in arms reach... then I'm not helping the team and I'm not having fun.
Rule - 2 Never impose Rule 1 on anyone else.
Wanna Scrank? Like suicidal Blapping? Wanna six slot your PB with knockback and your Speed Boost with Run speed... or not take it at all? Go ahead! The point is to have fun aint it? -
Is it bad that with all the other big, major plot threads going on and others left hanging still...
I really want to see something come out of this little Valentine tangent? -

And it's not about the midriff. It's about the bikini bottom being so out of place color-wise when you have a midriff. If you noticed, two of my example recolorings kept the midriff. Nobody is against a bare belly. They're against a bare belly *for that outfit*.
As is, a bright red zippered bikini over a bright white tights and a bare belly is problematic not because it's slutty, it's a problem because it's a fashion disaster. -
Quote:Its just a middrift.Firstly, let's dispense with "underwear on the outside" when talking about Superman-style of uniforms. That's a modern-day schtick. His uniform was created in the 1930's when nobody at all would have thought of it was "underwear on the outside" and any WOMAN wearing something that looked like underwear would have been viewed as a vixen, at best.
Superman and the heroes who copied him are based on a circus strongman's outfit. The shorts (not underwear) are a caricature of the clothes worn by body-builders even today and the tights was just an excuse to make him look muscular while still having him be less-than-naked.
A golden-age heroine's costume would never look like "underwear on the outside". It would have been inspired by a one-piece swimsuit or an evening gown and more likely to have a skirt than to have any piece that was obviously meant to look like panties.
Penny's outfit looks just fine when drawn that way, as some of the photoshopped examples in this thread show.
Is she risque? No, not really. Is she gratuitous? Yes, most definitely. The question is, "Why?". What's the point of drawing that attention, to the point that they even paint her panties on her trousers?
I say "they" because Penny is a fictional character and ultimately some designer at Paragon Studios is the one who made this decision.
She wears a uniform made of some shiny, apparently rubber-like material that one assumes is intended to be protection of some sort. Why then have an exposed, unprotected midriff? That seems downright silly. I assume the weird belt holds up her pants in much the way a garter belt holds up stockings. Seems like a clumsy arrangement, really.
However, teen Penny also wears a short jacket. Maybe she just likes the feel of air on her belly. *shrug*
"Underwear on the outside" serves a purpose, however antiquated, on the Superman-inspired styles and it was never intended sexually, nor would it have been perceived that way by the people who were initially exposed to it. The circus strong man style would have been well-known and recognized for what it was.
I don't think you can find any examples of a woman wearing a lingerie-style of clothing that doesn't involve at least a deliberate display of her assets, when it doesn't involve outright intent to pander to male sexual desire. If you can name any, I'll be interested to hear of them.
A character like Swan has her place in the pantheon. She's a Victoria's Secret hero. That's fine and dandy because she doesn't make any bones about it. In fact, there's a certain intimidation factor from dressing like that - a criminal who is accosted by a hero in nothing but lingerie has to ask himself what defenses this hero has that he's not seeing.
Penny's outfit is basically pandering. She's wearing a protective uniform that covers her up and that could have had thousands of different patterns imposed onto it that would have been cool and unique. Instead, the pattern that was chosen was to literally paint her underwear onto her uniform since we couldn't see it under the uniform.
If anything, the one thing that actually offends me about the design is not the sexuality of it. It's the idea in some graphic designer's head that the only way that I, the player, can recognize this character as female and appreciate her as female is to spell it out and clobber me over the head with it, as if I'm too stupid or loutish to appreciate anything other than lingerie on a woman.
The art department has already been forbidden from creating anymore "risque" costume parts for female PCs thanks to forum outcry. What's offensive is trying to dictate how the developers should concieve the look of their own original characters. -
If my wife leaves for her friend's on time, I can probably make this.
I'll bring either a ill/time controller, rad/rad def, or fortunata (psy resists!) depending on need. -
All the ranged blast sets. Again.
The last revamp was so poor it might as well not have happened.
It'd also be nice to pick the new animations with the original powerset colors too. -
Whom ever wins... the surrounding 10 square miles of the city would lose.
-
Traps. I know theyre crazy effective. But I cant get into the playstyle. ...No, thats a lie. If the FFG would freaking keep up with me, I'd love this set.
Fire melee. I hate the flaming fist/flaming sword combat. One or the other so I could have a concept around it please.
Peacebringers. ...kind of. I know I'll make another attempt at one again. Such an awesome set of powers hampered by such ANNOYING caveats. No mez protection, crazy kb, ugly forms that take to long to enter... sigh... -
I believe all teammates have to be in the same zone.
If the team in Atlas Park enters the queue, and the loner in KR is in the queue as well by himself, then they'd end up in the trial together.
Of course I've never used the queue for its intended purpose so I cant speak from experience. -

I love the Kate Beckinsale in Leather movies!

Quote:This.I like redside stories more tbh. But the blueside rewards are sooooooooooooooooooo much better.
The only thing Redside has going for it is the Mortimer Kal SF for its garunteed Notice of the Well upon completion.
When you cant even start a DFB powerleveling... er trial run redside at primetime, you know theres no point to sticking around. -
Quote:The devs should never, ever NOT do something because the tiny percent of players on the forums have not asked for it. They've come up with things I've never even concieved that turned into some of the most fun things in this game.Zwill, thanks for your responses, and rest assured, i know you guys respond to feedback, and have defended paragon often in the past(been called a kiss up by professional malcontents
) but Can you answer me one question, have you ever received a post asking for grab bags, Did somebody ask for them? I have never seen one, but I'm not everywhere. And finally, do grab bags get the company a significantly higher profit than buying costume sets?
the basis for those questions is just that here and in a similarly themed game, grab bags have been received in an overwhelmingly negative sense, I just cant see anyone actually wanting them, and just a few accepting them. Now i realized from a business standpoint that they give repeating revenue, but are they that much more profitable than costume sets on the market, I understand that paragon requires a steady stream of income, its why i have bought almost every costume part offered. but are costume sets as they are on the market just not bringing in the cash and we needed this? I want the game to stay profitable because thats how we get new things and talented people, so is it really a situation where we needed them? Anyway, the die is cast, and we will deal with the results, I want paragon to stay healthy, and am glad to do my part, but I completely hate this and it feels forced on us against strenuous opposition.
People dont have to be in love with grab bags for them to be profitable. Throwing spare points at them on a whim rather than letting them stack up will directly result in more points being bought by the playerbase as a whole. Is that more than if they just sold the costumes, ATIOs, and Wolf Pet alone? I dont know... but I imagine it'd be more steady than the spike in sales the week theyre released.
