    I'm a little confused then.

According to City of Data, the damage of a blaster is the same as the damage of a corruptor.

    Is there a modifier?

I played alsmost exclusively Blueside until GR.

After tinkering with Bots/Traps (which I really enjoyed), I started working with corruptors. My Fire Rad has the same fire damage as a fire blaster, but has perma hasten, AM and debuffs on enemies...and has 45% S/L defense. I play with the mindset that I can't depend on there being a certain AT around to buff/debuff.

So, to me, the Corruptor is a step above a blaster because of how I play. Debuff like a /Rad controller and the firepowa of a fire blaster. Works for me.
  3. Not sure. I'm thinking Musculature/Radial for my Fire/Rad.
  4. I don't solo with my Earth/Storm. He is ridiculously helpful on teams, though. If you thought you saw AVs debuffed before....

This is an old build of his. I know I reworked it, but I can't recall what I changed (I've since decided a Fire/Rad corruptor is the bee's knees).

  5. Here's my build. I typically play tanks, but I've found Corruptors to be game-changers. Blaster damage with Troller buffs/debuffs.

This build has 45% S/L defense, perma Hasten, AM and lingering radiation. Aim, the Buildup power, has a 30 second recharge. You achieve perma Hasten and AM by level 47, really.

It's set for issue 19, as well. The Regen and Recovery will be enhanced by the two unused slots (empty, in the build). You can take a slot from Health and put it in Radiation infection for Defense Debuff, but the difference is probably negligible when you're dealing with GMs and AVs and their resistance to debuffs.

This build also allows the player to act as the stealth/TP person for the group, which is something I always look to build in for speed.

Cost? It'll cost ya. No purples, but you're likely looking at a billion or so if you get some drops.

  6. Went a different route. I altered my Fire/Rad build for Ice. Keep some things in mind. First, I've not played an Ice Blaster or Ice Corruptor. So, I'm not prepared to tell you what to take and what is skippable. Next, this is an all-or-nothing build. It relies on perma AM to keep endurance going. Finally, this build is for Issue 19. There is no Fitness pool taken and there are two empty slots, which I would use to boost Health and Stamina when they become available. As such, the Recovery and Regen will be much better than it appears in MIDS.

This build is expensive, but offers perma AM, Hasten and Lingering Radiation. The only power it does not have is the Tier 9. The build relies on Scorpion Shield, which gives the build over 45% Smash/Lethal defense.

  7. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

    I'm a recovering altaholic.

Up until recently, I was happy developing one character at a time.

Now, with GR, I decide to explore Redside and find Corruptors.

    Fine, I'll try a little Fire/Traps.

    Then, I find Fire/Rad.

And now you dangle Fire/Dark in front of me, touting the awesomitude?

Do you know what you're doing to my marriage?
  8. Message sent to the PM box.

I can be reached in game @The Templar, as well.
  9. Have a Fire/Traps and really like it.

Then, I started playing a Fire/Rad. Perma Hasten/AM with high DPS? Sold.
  10. Erin Go Braugh

    Wtf?

Another option is that some random soul just decided to donate some money to charity.
Buddy of mine accidentily bid 200 million for a common salvage item months ago. No idea how he goofed it.

    Curse you, gold sellers!
  12. That figures. Ok, I'll tweak Protector. Thanks.

EDIT: Actually, the more I think about it, I'm contemplating scrapping the TP part and grabbing Provoke. Still on the fence, because I do a lot of TFs and Recall Friend is very helpful for TFs.
  13. Build is to act as stealth/TPer for missions, as well as be fun. This is the "cheap" build for exemping and such. I'm not all that concerned, at this point, about my final build.

Suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also, can someone give the a quick explanation of the Protector Bots defense power?

Not sure if it was intentional, but you used the Gladiator 3%, instead of the Steadfast 3%.

    Nice work, BTW.

Ah, didn't realize it stacks. Makes sense then.
  19. So, it's a matter of the visual not neccessarily matching the powerset (like auras and "weapon redraw" misunderstanding), or giving a different impression?

There's an understatement. I'm not sure I spent as much on my tank, scrapper, blaster, defender, and troller combined as you plan on spending on this tank. They're all considered incredibly tough, too.

Using four purples for .14 end rec/second is radical.

I do have one suggestion that you might hear out. To heck with Super Jump at the end. Get Grant Cover and boost your Defense Debuff resistance to 93.6% from 76.3%.
  21. I see your point about the self heal. My Ill Rad has it, which is likely why I don't sweat it when I get tagged for half health as my PA grabs aggro.
  22. The question wasn't asked here, but someone did the math and - even with the crash - Rage is worth the cost.
  23. I don't sweat the softcapped S/L, since you have the PA and the Phantasm and Decoy. I get my S'L up to about 27% and pop a purple if needed, keeping the emphasis on recharge primarily. I've solo'd the GMs and AVs, including STF Recluse, with the 27% and it works.

Yeah, I soon realized you should have two or more PA to tank Recluse. 1 PA earned me some debt. But, hey, I was able to pull it off and debt goes away.
  24. Local Man addresses that in his guide, I think. 61 is good enough. Actually, the real issue with "perma PA" is that when recast, all PA disappear and are then re-imaged.

What does that mean? I found out the hard way when I "tanked" a STF with my Ill-Rad. Recluse would beat on them for a minute and when I re-cast PA, they dropped and Recluse darted at me or the party. I learned to cast the PA in between Recluse and the rest of us, but it was a brutal lesson to learn.

Recluse vs. Ill Rad (sans PA) = Epic Fail for Ill Rad.

We beat him, but not without some debt...er "awesomeness"...accumlated.
