Fire / Rad Build Goals
Go for smashing/lethal defense with the Scorpion pool. A few sets of Kin Combats, Weave, CJ and you're good to go. Don't build for softcap counting RI. RI is fantastic but not realistic to softcap yourself against large groups or AVs.
Getting about 70%ish global recharge will make AM and Hasten both perma in conjunction with one another (assuming good recharge slotting). I'm sitting at about 85%, will be at 95% come i19. I find it to be more than enough for my needs. AM well slotted for endurance will give you upwards of 4 end/sec, so even spamming Fire AoEs it takes some doing to put a dent in your end bar.
You will still want as much end rdx as you can get in Fireball and RoF. RoF in particular is a big end hog.
I found with my Fire/Rad that the stuff that got me to that level of recharge gave me all the recovery I needed with AM. He's got a Numina +/+ and a Miracle in Health too.
Fire/Rad is a flexible and powerful enough build that you don't need to sacrifice your attacks to make him AV/GM solo-capable. Especially with the i19 Fitness changes. Fire Breath you could skip, but definitely take Fireball and Rain of Fire. Rain of Fire doublescourges, the slow stacks with LR and it generally does boatloads of damage. Fireball is the TAoE that spoils all other TAoEs for you
For general Rad stuff and slotting, I've got a Rad guide in my sig if you want to take a look. I've gotta update it since I've rerolled my Rad from Sonic/ to Fire/ but most of the info is still good.
Hope that helps
The Melee Teaming Guide for Melee Mans
Here's my build. I typically play tanks, but I've found Corruptors to be game-changers. Blaster damage with Troller buffs/debuffs.
This build has 45% S/L defense, perma Hasten, AM and lingering radiation. Aim, the Buildup power, has a 30 second recharge. You achieve perma Hasten and AM by level 47, really.
It's set for issue 19, as well. The Regen and Recovery will be enhanced by the two unused slots (empty, in the build). You can take a slot from Health and put it in Radiation infection for Defense Debuff, but the difference is probably negligible when you're dealing with GMs and AVs and their resistance to debuffs.
This build also allows the player to act as the stealth/TP person for the group, which is something I always look to build in for speed.
Cost? It'll cost ya. No purples, but you're likely looking at a billion or so if you get some drops.

EDIT: I don't have mutation, because I generally play with a fairly static group of players and I can get away with not taking it (I have it now, and almost never use or get to use it)
You can easily drop SJ for it, the extra BoTZ -KB isn't really integral to the build, and the build already has SS>
Hello Corruptor Forums,
I come to you in need of advice.
As a long term player, I have many high level characters. The high level characters which I devote 99% of my wealth to have all been melee characters, as I have always preferred the brute/scrapper/stalker lifestyle. This time around, however, my project is to turn a Fire/Rad corruptor into a complete monster.
My problem is as follows: Because I devote my time to my favorite melee characters, I am only used to producing purpled out builds for melee characters. Typically I am used to doing the following: developing a build which is soft capped and has enough +rech/+rec to run a specific high DPS chain indefinitely.
Also, my PC no longer functions, so I am forced to go without Mids. (( I am not asking for you to build for me, I much prefer to do so myself. I will have bootcamp+windows 7 running shortly. )) Going without Mids has been tough, considering some days I'd spend more time playing in Mids than playing in Paragon.
Anyway, on to the question: What are the optimum build goals a fire/rad should shoot for? Keep in mind that price is a non-issue here.
Is the number one goal recharge? If I remember correctly, perma-AM is possible, however I don't have access to Mids. I assume that with perma-AM, having enough recharge to run the best chains is a given.
Should I build for some positional defense? Typed defense? How much is enough to stack with radiation infection's -tohit and essentially make me a SR? Do I want the +def patron shield, or a different epic altogether?
How much recovery am I looking for? As much as possible after building in +rech, or as much as possible after building for +rech/necessary +def?
Is there anything else which would greatly benefit this character, or satisfy any unforeseen needs?
What sacrifices would this build need to make in order to become a hard-target specialist? (AV's, hopefully GM's) Will I have to forego my AoE bread and butter attacks?
Do you have any advice as far as slotting my secondary?
I realize much of this comes down to personal preference, but when builds are designed to push performance to its limits, there are typically some guidelines.
Thank you for taking the time to help out a melee-centric builder.
