  1. So, gonna use AE to powerlevel her?

    I keed =P

    Afterburner FTW!

Unbound leap: stealth placed into sprint is a better and cheaper choice. Especially since you can load a LotG: Recharge into Afterburner!

Shush, second-class citizen! You don't have Tier4s in all the incarnate abilities, you're not entitled to an opinion! I mean obviously, because you have some limitation which prevents you from engaging in large-scale team content (whether that limitation is real or self imposed), you are a lesser being.

Now return to your hut, knave! I've revoked your extra gruel for daring to speak back to me! Pray that I don't revoke your standard rations on top of that!

...But no, "the game" (...aw dammit, just lost >_<) doesn't treat you like a second class citizen. There's no content in the game that is now harder for you because you're not as powerful as other players. That's a manifestation of your own ego. If you feel like a second class citizen because you don't have the explodey power that kills 32 guys at once, that's YOUR issue.

You ARE. Know your role, peon, and get in the back of the line where you belong, or I'll have the guards escort you back to your impoverished hut! If you're lucky and I'm feeling merciful, you may be the recipient of extra gruel.

Oh, wait, we're talking about not being able to get extra powers in a video game because you're not willing to do what it takes to get said powers? Yeah, okay, totally the same thing!
  5. I saw "Media Blitz" and now I have "Ballroom Blitz" stuck in my head >_<

    And YAY new Incarnate stuff!

Not doubting, but just curious: where and when did we hear of this? Any details?
  7. Not really... the devs are usually pretty careful to avoid screwing over people because of their power selections. Now true, most people can GET a raptor pack fairly easily, but you can't bank on that.

Your best bet? Get an outdoor map and spawn an Arachnos Flier... though good luck soloing it >_>
  8. This is the first I've heard of any such thing. Do you maybe already have the badges?

    Blood and gore

There might be certain power combos where you can tint the power effects so it looks like the opponent is gushing blood on impact, but otherwise I don't think the game will ever officially support the level of detail you're looking for. Especially not to the tune of having the "Bloody Mess" perk from the more recent Fallout games.

And I realize it seems "unrealistic" for us to have guns and blades and giant axes and fire blasting that merely renders a foe unconscious, but it's equally unrealistic for someone to lose ten gallons of blood and a maybe few internal organs and still be standing like some of the more gory games tend to have.

That said, T-4-Teen and F2P notwithstanding, if there were some kind of opt-in that added a bit of blood, i wouldn't be against it. Wouldn't use it on all (or even most) of my characters, but options are always good.
  10. It's a percentage-based amount of ED_bypass.

For instance, the first tier Alphas give 33% enhancement (in either Acc, Dam, Rech or EndRedux) to all powers, and 1/6th of that will bypass ED if you're already at or near the cap.

Each tier raises the amount that goes past the cap... i think T4 is 33% that ignores ED. T4s also enhances other attributes (like healing, fly-speed, defense, taunt durration, etc)

Mind you, that's just Alpha. The other incarnate abilities are: a proc effect in each of your damage powers (DoT, -res, -def, -tohit, -regen, - recharge, etc), a PBAoE buff (healing/regen, +def/res, mez resistance, +recharge/recovery), a high-damage AoE (fire, dark, ice and energy flavored), and a series of summonable pets based on in-game mobs (praetorians, longbow, arachnos, specters, etc). AND there's 5 more coming down the pike that we don't know what they're gonna be yet.

So yeah, plenty of info for ya to read about out there. Have fun!
  11. 1) The "Who Will Die" missions are NOT mission Architect arcs, so this question is in the wrong forum =)

    2) The first contact is THEYODEN (sp?). He's in Skyway City, a few hundred yards south-east of Synapse (He'll have a white and green contact icon in your map). You'll know him when you see him, he's a LOST boss surrounded by PPD SWAT members.

    3) The second contact is in Talos Island, a ways South-southeast of the train station. I forget his name at the moment...
  12. Has anyone been doing any concrete testing to determine just how much better drops are with Windfall active? I mean I'm not expecting a guaranteed purple each time I use it or anything, but I was just curious as to its exact effects and what level range benefits most from its use.

Also, has its effectiveness been measured against how many PPs it takes to purchase a bundle, or the benefits of selecting windfalls as a Paragon Reward over anything else (which would probably be subjective, as some people might prefer unslotters or boosters)?

My curiosity is matched only by my laziness, which prevents me from doing much testing myself =/
  13. I was just wondering something about the nature of Time Manipulation, especially in regards to Temporal Selection. It is described as "selecting a period of time when (the target's) abilities are at their highest". Which got me thinking... instead of simply giving a damage/recharge and regen buff, would it have made more sense or been more powerful to apply a level shift instead?

I mean true, you wouldn't get any extra recharge or regen (unless you also were in range of Chrono Shift). You wouldn't get too much more damage... but you'd have a better chance to hit, and a better chance of dodging attacks.

Also consider: what if the +level effect were stackable? You could theoretically have a +3 member of your team, who'd probably be able to trivialize anything the game could throw at you. Perhaps that would be over-powered? What about several TM users all level-shifting the same person?

I'm starting to wonder if maybe a +level effect was originally intended, but turned out to be massively overpowered? What do the rest of you think?
  14. Question: Does the base have to be FUNCTIONAL? (ie, have power/control) or is this simply a decorative contest?
  15. Y'know, I was wondering just the other day "I now have 2 free transfers... somehow..., so how come i don't have any more reward tokens?"

I'll give it a while before I get antsy. I mean, it's just a game and I'm not too crazy about the T8 rewards anyway, but I wanna work my way up to T9 eventually, y'dig?
  16. Are you perhaps using warehouse maps? They've been changed a bit (new textures and items), and perhaps the pathing hasn't been updated. For instance, if you were using "Small Warehouse 1" before, maybe now there's a shelf where there wasn't one previously, and the AI think it's not there.

    That's my best guess...
  17. The entire Imperial Defense costume set is bugged in AE. Should be fixed in the next update or two.
  18. Let's see, new account, says they're level 50, asking about farms (that most regulars here hate)....

    Lulzy!

Well, that might work, except there's no real way to guarantee that they'll spawn close enough to intervene in the fight.. I can try that, though, thanks!
  20. I thought that was for custom critters with defensive powers? IE, you have 2 emp critters, and only one will actually use the heals and buffs?

But if this is the case... ugh, i got some pondering to do....
  21. So I set up a helper ambush to assist the player during a tough fight... except only one member of the bunch actually arrives, the rest just chill out wherever they spawned. Is this WAI, a map bug, an AI bug, or what?
  22. Thing is, it's a different contact who gives you the second part. It's... shoot, some dork in glasses. Aaron Thiery or something like that...?
  23. hmmm, good suggestion. However, as a Controller, I'm missing significant AoE damage. I'm trying to work around that and trying to get a bit more damage bang-for-my-buck, so to speak. If I'm lucky, enough critters will either get held or die that i can pick off one or two stragglers with little effort. Though I'll have to see how well this works. If the procs don't ever seem to go off, I may try your suggestion and just slow them down to the cap.
  24. So with all the time builds flying around, I see no one's taken a stab at Mind/Time yet. Well I've got one at level 16, playing alright so far... though not having gotten most of my Time powers yet, I'm not sure the best way to go as far as slotting them and thought maybe you guys could look my eventual-build over =)

On the plus side, i got CS perma... though I'm questioning my slotting of various powers (mostly the Time ones). Anyway, here we go:

  25. Meh, slot a -recharge proc.

In all fairness, most NPCs have between 2 and 4 attacks. If you could neuter their recharge to the point where they have to wait a minute between using brawl, that would be massively overpowered. You might as well just Stun them.

-Dam is the same way. If an effect does -40% damage, and you enhance that to the ED cap, you're talking a power which you can keep casting affecting a foe for -80% damage. A 1,000 damage attack becomes 200 damage. You might as well have a power that level-drains the target for about 3-5 levels.
