TP and TS didn't stand for Teamspeak I remember my MUD and MUCK days o.@

Ah yes. I have many fond memories. Some people still do MUSH. -
I avoid the D, unless it's unaviodable (like Winter Event), and I'm still RPing in plots, stories and just basic missions.. however, like others have said, it's within the supergroups I'm in. Only once in the past couple years did I join a PuG, find out all of them were RPers, and we RP'd through the last RWZ arc. It was great and a rare find.

I am pissed! I have had the name Marvel Maiden for years now. I created her on my old account back in 2002!

While I sympathize, and think you should escalate it until you reach a GM who can explain who your character was infringing, I'm not sure how you had this character in 2002. -
I started doing Master Saturday back at something like #10, I think. It took a few months of me plugging away at it, until my blaster got the badge. After she got it, I switched to my controller, and he got the badge on the third time out.
I then helped on the next thirty or so Master Saturdays. Yes, every team doesn't get the badge every Saturday. Some do. Some weeks, only one out of three teams got it. Master Saturday is a PuG of sorts, but doing a PuG with some folks who know what to do is far better than one where nobody knows.
The important thing in getting the badge is that the team act together as a unit and stick together. You're not responsible only for yourself, but for your teammates, as well. -
Why do I write songs?
Why do I write stories?
Why do I draw pictures?
Why do I create an arc in the Mission Architect?
It's difficult to explain the drive to create to someone who doesn't have it. Hard to put words to the sensations you get when your brain is thinking something up and you are compelled to express it. -
Even back prior to launch, our RP supergroup decided that /Broadcast wasn't appropriate for RP, so I don't tend to RP over it. Some folks, like Killer Whale, RP as their character, even while taking part in an OOC conversation.
Ascendant is still around, and just as bantery. Play his Mission Architect arcs. -
I never judge a game on cinematics. The gameplay is often quite different. In this SWTOR cinematic, there's a whole lof Matrix "slow motion" going on, which isn't very Star Warsy to me.
Whether I go or not depends on: are a lot of my friends going and will I enjoy the game? -

I hate that tree >:/
I'm to the point I'm willing to pay influence to ensure a fool proof way to get the damn thing. :P
Seems out of my abilities..just like leading a raid...
I stand at 89 and 0 for tries o.@

For the tree room, the team needs to have all "squishies" on the top half of the circle, clearing the vines. Ideally, only the tank and possibly a very tough scrapper who has a lot of purple insps should be clearing the bottom half of the circle.
The tree is not that deadly to a decent tanker, which is why the tanker should go in and taunt the tree and get aggro, and after a short wait, the rest of the team comes to take it down.
Just about all the deaths I've seen to the tree were due to a non-tanker straying across to the wrong side and getting one-shotted by the tree. -
For the very brave, bold and chemically inclined... Open Cola.
And yes, it is bogus to get kicked off a team for a butt wiggle, but there's a lot of teenage males on this game. If a hippy wearing pink can set off their "Phobe", then a wiggle is off the scale. -

yeah and with that example how does that promote teaming? I can invite a troller to my team and i know i have controls. I invite someone to my team in CO i either have to force them into a role or i have a hodge podge team..The CO sewer does not smell like roses to me

I actually hate having to do the "Holy Pentad" and aside from the STF or ITF, I will take a team of any ATs through any missions or TFs in CoH.
However, the caveat is that in CoH, you do have your Shivans and other temps, and inspirations and accolades, as well as several strategies that can work when facing mobs.
I'm happy to see that in CO there aren't "healors" or pure anything, and I don't have a problem teaming up with just about anything... as long as CO's gameplay supports that.
For an example, I also play Lord of the Rings Online (don't laugh), and, unlike CoH, where you could do an STF with 8 blasters if you desire, in LoTRO, you must have a tank, an off-tank, crowd control, dps and someone who is totally dedicated to healing and nothing but healing.
So, if CO's gameplay isn't based on specific roles, then the freeform classless character generation will be fine. BUT if they have encounters that need certain things, well.. might be hard and a long wait getting those filled. -
Am I the only one who enjoys Mr. Pibb?
-
The animations in CO and how it played actually reminded me of the old arcade game, Pac Man.

There's RPing and there's going OTT. Nothing against it just some folks wouldn't be comfortable if straight people were making out in front of them, nevermind anything else.

QFT and IBTL where the hell is Moderator 8!!??? -
I'm going to chime in once more, which I don't normally do, with this. I don't care who you are, what you do, what your preferences are, or what your self-proclaimed deviances are:
City of Heroes is not the appropriate venue for you to publicly explore your sexuality.
Second Life is. -
While the kicking was wrong, I don't tend to RP in non-RP teams. The issue doesn't come up if you don't RP when on a team that's just together to do missions.
I was nearly kicked off a TF because my male character wears pink, though. (He's a hippy, and pink, purple and hearts were all the rage for men in the sixties.)
The guy kicking people in the OP's post sounds like a 16 year old male, who are the most susceptible to that kind of reaction, due to struggling with their own burgeoning gender issues. -
I don't really care how it looks or not (and I believe there's an option to turn the cell shading off, if you so desire), but what bothered me about Champions Online is that the gameplay required a certain twitch, which I am not that good with.
If they're at Gencon this year, I'll swing by and see if they got it polished up, but despite being a huge Champions and Hero System fan (tabletop and MUSH), I find myself getting more disappointed in the MMO as time goes on. -
I'm a very picky and heavy RPer (actual superhero RP). You didn't say if you wanted a large or smallish SG, but Guardian Force fits the 5 things you posted.
-
We have been having a great time, both playing other peoples' story arcs and making our own. Since we weren't using the MA for farming, our experience hasn't been altered.
-
My fun hero builds have been:
Serious:
Energy/energy blaster (Flight/fitness/concealment/body armor)
Mind control/empathy (Flight/fitness/concealment/psionic mastery)
Special WTF Concepts that turned out fun:
The "Radless" Defender. Only the heal aura, AM and the rez from the primary (Radiation), blast, gloom and sniper from secondary (Dark Blast), and then all 4 travel pools including taking and using the attacks from each (Flurry, Jump Kick, Air Superiority, Whirlwind).
The Devices/SR scrapper
Made by ignoring all except Storm Kick, Focus Chi, Dragon Tail and Eagles Claw in Primary (Martial Arts), taking all the secondary (SR) and then collecting as many Temp Powers and using them. Very expensive and sometimes time-consuming (to keep running the missions for the refillable Temp Powers). But a lot of fun. Has the Medicine Pool, as well, and the mastery that gives caltrops. -

does anyone out there actually LIKE any of the DC arcs?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup!
[/ QUOTE ]
I enjoyed a couple of them, and others I didn't. I didn't expect to enjoy all of them though. Subjective, after all. -
My group is also using this method of writing missions that are actually made to be part of the plot(s) the SG is currently undergoing. We used to have the plot and say "Oh, we'll be using the Dr. Vahz arc but Vahz will be (custom villain), and the minions are (custom)."
I was surprised when, at the conclusion of the arc I wrote, it spurred an IC debate among the characters as to the ethics and punishment that should go along with crime committed by an AI.
So the RP has been improved by the MA, in my opinion. -
*rejoices for the eventual fixing of the Crey Hero lab*
-
I stopped using the ratings and just do arcs recommended by friends, and posted on various forum threads. The system in the MA right now is not really that good.
I like the straight-up HoF idea. No worries about griefing, but just a 'should this be a hall of fame arc?' question, and perhaps something like 1000 votes for that. -
I'm also hoping the Crey Hero Lab will be back, and did see where the spawn points were not quite right.
I've been here a looong time, and have faith that it will be eventually fixed.
