And they should not balance it around soloing pylons.

Soloing Hamidon is a much more accurate measure of powerset balance.

So as a Villain, you could do a Rogue alignment Tip. I don't recall if this requires teaming, or if you can do it on your own.

Would love to see "The Running Man" filmed even remotely faithfully to the book. Richards (in the book) is a real underdog, a man who is literally at the end of his rope. A man desperate enough to take any shot, even if it's being "the sucker in a rigged game." (I hope that quote is correct).

I'm a big fan of King, but his Bachman books have a darkness all their own.

"Recall" centers around implanted memories (in the book, one of these is being a government agent) which may or may not be real.

"Bourne" is a story about an amnesiac secret agent (in the book, shot in the head) trying to recover his lost memories.

Personally don't see one as inspiration for the other. YMMV.

BTW, had to check dates on the written versions. "We Can Remeber it for You Wholesale" (if there is anyone out there who is not aware, "Total Recall" was very loosely based on this P.K. Dick story) was published in 1966, "The Bourne Identity" in 1980. I had always assumed Ludlum's work was much older.
  7. Quite enjoyed the movie, and I think it was a good ending for the trilogy. A couple of thoughts:

Anne Hathaway was better than I expected, a pleasant surprise. Very much the CoX Rogue. Don't think the name "Catwoman" was actually used in the movie.

Bane was shown as a large, powerful man... not a freak of inhuman proportions. Also, no references to "Venom" as a source of his strength.

Recruiting an army of criminals and street orphans fits much better in Nolan's Bat-verse than cracking open Arkham did in Knightfall.

Alfred stands by the gravesites and says, in short, "I'm sorry, I failed." Is he speaking to one person, two, or all three?

BTW, what is the deal with putting Nolan's name in red letters, as I've seen several people do?

Possibly his pre-GR bio, before the major Praetorians were retconned?
  10. Great stuff, Dink.

The angled golf bag looks more natural, and the details on the new pieces look great.

Listen, and understand. The Devs are out there. They can't be bargained with. They can't be reasoned with. They don't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And they absolutely will not stop...

Except for the in-combat defense buff. Not as large as the out-of-combat buff, but it is there.

I've played several stealthy characters, and can't recall any of my teammates having an issue with my transparency. Perhaps you play with people who see (pardon the pun) things differently.

Please cite your sources proving a) we are all male, b) males like stealth more than females. Also, stressing the word "boys" as you do could be taken as insulting; in the context of your post, it seems to be used to indicate immaturity.

Hmmm, so are you saying that an in-combat defense buff (which CD provides) =/= an in-combat defense? Not sure what your definition is.

But even if you do read this, you seem to have made up your mind, and will not be swayed by facts. So be it. To borrow an old adage, there are none so blind as he who will not see.

Dare I hope that this will fix the problem of previously purchased items still showing the"buy now" button?

I shouldn't, but hope springs eternal.

    How...

    How...

How dare you confuse this issue by introducing FACTS??!?

Don't you know that discussion of power selection/slotting can ONLY be based on hearsay, rumor, idle speculation, and bald-faced lies??!?

Seriously, anyone know offhand what the actual numbers are "out of combat" vs "in combat"?
  17. Random thoughts on this thread:

Wow, almost 5 years and still going.

Anyone know how long Ex Libris (the OP) has been gone?

The link in the OP does not work, it probably died of old age.

Does anyone feel strongly enough about this issue to PM one of the current devs and have them start a current "official" thread?

    Just my thoughts...

It's a definite maybe. Still waiting on the "brain slug" shoulder pet that was in the concept art for the Retro SciFi Pack.

Ok, I've read your post twice over, and I fail to see how you are "forced" to take this power. If you don't like it, feel it's useless, etc, then take a different power. Sure, you'll be losing a LotG mule, but if your toon lives or dies based on one 7.5% global recharge, then your build has deeper issues. IMO, of course.

So...again I say: City of Casey Jones *and* Jason Voorhees.

Dismissive of a significant part of the player base. Nice. And that's 3 for 3 on Casey Jones.

I have villain characters. Have since CoV launch, thank you very much. The Arachnos-trained assassin, the unwitting demon summoner taken over by her charge, etc. etc. I sympathize with the villain lobby, certainly.
And how many of them are "poor widdle willians"? (see above)

Will some people be able to "conceptualize" a fugly, dirty hockey mask and chainsaw into a kitty-saving hero? Absolutely. Thus is the power of this community and the imagination of superpowered fans.

However, will the vast majority of everyone else make Jason Voorhees and Casey Jones? Yes. Overwhelmingly yes.
Wow. All this AND time to conduct a comprehensive survey of the player base to determine what the majority will do. Where do you find enough hours in the day?
