Unconscious players and half of one player or unconscious players and/or half of one player?

    What.
  3. TonyV, you make Bill Z Bubba and I take the same side... So, clearly you're way off.
  4. Psst, did you realize that you posted this publicly?
    I kid, I kid!

I like what you are saying and I agree.
I tend to bounce back and forth between the two extremes, but I pretty much always prefer smaller groups over larger ones.
That's the only sketchy aspect of your respectful post... any time we generalize and categorize, we err on the exceptions and the different reasons why some people may do this or that.

Another cool thing is that many more people than just introverts are turned off by large teaming and multi-team content and have been pretty vocal about it. So, it's not even just for introverts that the developers need to think of in order to make things more appealing... And, of course, I'm sure there are many introverts that enjoy the multi-team content as well. I suppose some don't mind disappearing within a crowd to partake in content they find fun.

Regardless... I certainly hope that they do take some turns with the solo and small group aspect of playing as I whole-heartedly think it has been a great aspect of this game and does indeed have a great number of players that enjoy and prefer that style of gaming.

There is definitely room enough for both extremes.
And, as you said, it is absolutely a difficult balance to maintain for the developers!

That really sums it up quite well!

For some characters and stories and such, it may be extremely relevant and necessary and it may depend on who I am playing along with... but I definitely don't keep up a match of real time to the character's time.
It's not like I play 24/7... maybe I could go by in-game time... Although... Haha... if I went by the quick day/night cycle of the game... all my aging humans would probably be dead!

It is a great question though and something I find myself thinking about and dealing with now and then.

I do have one character that age is an especially large part of his character/story, however, I haven't been playing him and need to play in some solid multi-person role-playing before I age him out of what is a large part of his story (and then, the question always remains... will things be better for progressing it? Will it lose too much by advancing it? Honestly, in this case, I believe it will be a good thing and I can definitely make it work... but it is always a big question in writing fiction and/or role-playing!).
  6. Nice!
I've only played Dark Blast (I have a Dark/Dark) to the early twenties and I've loved it so far, but I love the full gamut of range and melee that Blasters allow for... And that is why I almost posted in your thread, but didn't, because I figured I'd probably not be of much help!

Glad you found a Blaster that you're enjoying. Maybe... one day... you'll find yourself loving a bit of melee in there... and, before you know it... You'll love the blapping as much as the rest...
Regardless, I can imagine Dark/EM being a great ranged blaster!!

  7. And, of course... I get an invite in the mail yesterday locking up February 18th...
If I can work my way out of this, I will, but it looks like I most likely will not make it.

Hmm... The Avengers proposition is intriguing... I'm generally a bit of a shut the hell up and let me fully immerse myself in this movie person though, so I'd hate to meet some of you by telling someone unlike that to shut the hell up...
Of course, 1) we may all want the same movie-going experience and/or 2) we may see it beforehand and then pull a Mystery Science CoHM&G.

I'll keep watch and chime in when I have nothing to say.
  8. Nice job in getting the voting in the MOTD!

So we're getting a Not A Moon Moon Zone, eh? Is this like some low budget tv studio zone where we can film footage that makes us look like we're on the moon??
  9. Beating a dead horse until it goes away!

It's been... how long... since Issue 16's unfinished goodness... Let's get it done, team!

I wish they could have fit it in before Going Rogue... but they didn't! Patience is a virtue and I'm running all out of virtue!

  11. I'm hoping that they will take all of the selected items and tweak them however they deem appropriate if it seems necessary at all.

Remember, there are often differences between concept art designs and the final in-game 3D art. And I hope that people understand this and don't call them out for not sticking to what we voted for.

And, honestly, I'd prefer that they did it more piecemeal: chest&legs, gloves, boots, shouldamapads and so on... Of course, I completely understand why they did not do that and don't fault them one bit for it. I'm just saying... My ideal (besides me being the final word!).
  12. As far as things that have often been requested that haven't been done yet... The Devs certainly have done well, because it is slimmer pickings...
It's more of little things here and there, verses wide themes.
Hmm, I'd say Face Tentacles is a common request...
Of course, Back Details, especially Jet packs plus Quivers and Scabbards and Weapons and such...

    Ape costume bits
    Duck Bills
    Beaver Tails...

I suppose the animal realm really has a lot of ground to cover still.

At least with Fusionette growing... we don't get to do the double interact with her. Young she is in missions, older.. again in missions. You can never go stand next to her younger and older selves out in the open.
    Or.. am I mistaken?
It would be great if they use the phasing technology to handle this.
Either by doing the Faultline arc or (perhaps preferably) after a certain level, young Penny would be phased out and we'd only have current Penny.
Of course, if we Exemp'd to play the Faultline arc with a lower-level player, we'd be in their world and see Young Penny!

I don't know... I think that could be a cool way to handle it, if they can.
  15. As soon as I saw B I was like "OH DEFINITELY THAT ONE!", but then I saw C and thought... "Oh, man... that'd be such a great retro rocket pack!!".
I decided to go with B, but I would so love to see C and feel bad that the design is getting left behind!

Well, I assumed there was a measure of humorousness to your post, so not all was lost! I especially enjoyed the bit about the European month-long vacations and stuff!
Being a EUer in the states, it's funny because it's true!

Although... it's really quite EVIL... because some of these are unpossible chosations!!
  18. I can understand the approach...
I, personally, would have thought keeping out the Romulus specific parts would have sufficed to meet the mark of making options available but still keeping some in-game unlockables.

The better online retail strategy is to discount items at various times, e.g. themed costumes with holidays, and offer them at full price the rest of the year. It's not as though there's actual inventory to warehouse.
I could be wrong (and I am not saying that I agree that this approach is best or correct or anything), I think they do this to throw the patient point-holding pragmatists for a loop and give them an urgency to spend their points NOW as opposed to waiting for the possible day of when they may actually feel they need the items in question.

Now, the flip side to that strategy is... anyone who shows up after the fact and/or didn't know the items were on sale and/or didn't fall for that tactic and/or didn't feel any need to grab them then... but want them after they've been removed can't get them and Paragon Studios does not get those points/dollars.

So, I'm thinking that their marketing gurus have numbers and spreadsheets and charts that tell them that this tactic brings more profits. That does not mean they'd be correct, but I think this is why they do this and not because of any coding/bandwidth issues.
  20. I very much agree with this.

I've always loved this temporary power much more than the jetpack. And, you are correct, there is only one way to get it and no chance to renew it once it is gone.
I think the pack itself looks very cool and I also enjoy having a Super Jump temp power.
I'd love to see a recipe for it or some other way to get our hands on it.
  21. One good thing the criticism has done, by keeping this thread going, is it keeps making me look at the in-game design and like it more and more!

Out of the choices shown thus far... My favorite color scheme is... David's!

I really like the way the three colors are used. It's sleek enough while also having that mishmosh punk aspect, which I don't think some of the posters here have a grasp of.

The red and white legs are a great nod to being a goodguy in Paragon City and I didn't need David's commentary to notice that!
The straps and bare belly and hair are a great indication of her spunk and punk.
The black is used well to cool off the white and red and also serves as a nice backdrop for the metal and the wiring of whatever tech she's got going on on her arms.

What I am really starting to like more and more is...
Sure, Penelope seems like a good, kind and respectful kid... And it'd be rather easy to paint her more conservative, traditional and such...
But I think it is great to have her adopt a bit of a punk appearance, as a great many good, kind and respectable kids (especially with rather extraordinary talents) take on a rebellious appearance.
While punk (and goth and other such styles) are often used in fiction for characters of lesser qualities, it is a nice approach to give someone we know to be a good kid such a style and remind (and maybe teach) some people that these types of styles aren't reserved for derelicts and no-good-nicks.

It's funny... this sort of super hero look isn't really my thing (My main wears full body tights and mask, haha!), I really am digging this outfit!

If I had to bet, I'd go with broomsticks being the next in line... Although another animal transformation option (or more) could certainly slip in beforehand.

  24. Uh, I don't get the fixation on the zipper thing...
It tightens the garment when zipped up and loosens it for removal... Have people completely lost their minds... oh right, sorry, I forgot!
