Superspeed without glowing feet

I love speedsters. I refuse to play one in this game because of the glowing feet. They make no sense! I would even pay extra for the option to not have them glow. Seriously!

Oh my god, you're sooooo clever! If they don't see the threads, they assume everyone is ok with things.

This has been an oft-requested option over the years. If they ever get customisation for Power Pools into the game we may see it happen. But it's highly unlikely that they'll just remove the current effect for everybody.

Perhaps if this were more of a fresh issue that isn't talked about often at all, yeah. But people constantly ask for the glow effect to be removed from both Super Speed and Hasten. I'm sure they are well aware of the issue.

This is easily one of the top five all-time suggested suggestions this game has ever had.
I've literally seen this tossed out there dozens (if not hundreds) of times over the years.
The Devs have repeatedly acknowledged that they know we've wanted this for years.

Sure it's a shame the Devs haven't figured it out yet.
But for this game this thread is the quintessential example of "beating a dead horse".

As far as we know, it is possible. See Incarnate powers in the Costume Creator.

The PROBLEM is that it's such a fluster cluck at the moment. Which means that it requires UI and programming time. Which, from various Dev comments, seems to be about as rare as gold and twice as valuable, meaning it needs scheduling in months in advance, or only in the direst of emergencies.

If programming time for such an oft-requested feature is not available, I have to worry about who is actually running this game. If so many people want something so basic, it should be near the top of the To Do list, unless the devs just don't give a crap about the customers.

Insert Standard Code Rant Here.

If you don't work for Paragon Studios and have not actually seen and/or understand the game code, you cannot for certainty say that something is easy to change/add/remove/etc.

And really, look at the past 22 issues at all the QoL changes that have been implemented. Yea things might not get done as soon as we would like, but the Devs do listen and make adjustments as their schedule permits and the tech permits.

I'm not a fan of glowing hands with Hasten but that's what we have at the moment so it's either use it or don't. I find the benefit of the power far out weighs the negative graphics effect.

And don't get me wrong - I have my issues with CoH and CoH:Freedom but I don't think I'll ever say that the Devs don't listen. They do listen - sometimes they act on it, sometimes they don't. That's life.

Yeah, that´s gonna be it. That also explains why we don´t get to say a word regarding future costume sets

The devs need to have content ready for month in advance, and while colourable pool powers would be nice it´s just not a priority while there are bigger fishes to fry like new zones and advancing the story.

I agree, it is important the devs do know about it. The thing is, they do know about it. Reminder or not.

I bring it up occassionally also, but that doesn't change the fact that both of us are beating a dead horse, time after time.

There is a point when fixing the old stuff should be more important than bringing in new stuff.

They've had many months(years) to do something about it. A "we don't have time for it" is redundant at this point, especially when they're only putting out new issues once every 3+ months.

When we got the ability to change the colors of our powers, I believe the devs had to rework every single primary and secondary powerset, incorporating the ability for the powers to be customizable. It was by no means a simple flip of the switch to do this. There were tons of changes implemented everywhere, and the process was probably made twice as hard because CoH is filled with old, confusing code left behind by old devs that no longer work here. They face that same hurdle, and then a little more, with Power Pools and Epic Pools.

It is by no means an easy task, and if they had a choice between allocating those resources to brand new powersets people have been asking for for ages, or towards slight customization of extra powers, it's a no brainer where they're gonna put those resources. Staff Fighting, Beast Mastery, Street Justice, Titan Weapons, and an Incarnate End Game system have been requested far more than removing that effect from Hasten, anyhow, so I'd say the devs are picking what to focus on correctly.

Try turning off ultra-mode?

I know ultra-mode is so pretty, but personally I can do without it so that hasten and ss arent so annoying.

I play on the lowest graphic settings because every one of my toons has Superspeed and Hasten and I can't stand the effects. I will /sign this suggestion 1,000,000 times if necessary.

Beating a dead horse until it goes away!

It's been... how long... since Issue 16's unfinished goodness... Let's get it done, team!

I wish they could have fit it in before Going Rogue... but they didn't! Patience is a virtue and I'm running all out of virtue!
