Don't mind PrincessDarkstar too much... They just woke up on the wrong side of their dark princess bed today.

    Also... What, no Staff Fighting??
    Oh, wait... never mind!

    Thanks, Chad!!
  4. Wait so Double Hit doesn't have text and someone complained?

For the record, I never saw any text nor heard of it being there and then being removed.
However, I'm glad for that. Any 2d elements that pop up over the game that we can be less of, the happier I am. It's all about personal preferences and tastes and all, so arguing over which is right is pointless. Options to add or remove, on the other hand... Of course, that's way out of our hands.
  5. Internet memes are really no diferent than inside jokes.
Sometimes they're actually funny, sometimes it is just the reminder of that funny occasion, scenario, you can remember or just relate to.

Whether they are actually funny or not... they get repeated... some people have no idea what the inside joke is about (because they weren't in on it)...
And then sometimes (rarely) the inside joke just gets funnier the more it is repeated in the right instances.

I'd hope most everyone has some family/friend inside jokes that can still make you all laugh (or cringe) when they are used again.
As always, timing and taste are the key.

The internet, being what it is, is just a very big, worldwide circle that picks up some inside jokes now and then.

That's how I see it anyway.
  6. Manticore... he knows he has messed up in the past, but he promises to do better from now and and not kill his lover.

I am thinking that Dink meant that it is fixed internally. Such fixes don't just happen on live without an update.
I've not checked to see if it is fixed on current beta.

  10. Yes! An alternate option for Thunder Kick would be the perfect place for a chop!!

    Agree 100%

Also... lol at the Batman reference... as well as... exactly the point!
  11. I think what I enjoy most about the slower pace of soloing (and within small teams... I think my sweet spot is generally found within 1-4 characters... 5 and 6, depending on the power sets) is that I feel more like I am watching panels of a comicbook.
I get to see each and every thing. The character(s) get to shine. Each and every enemy and strike and miss and blast and whatever can be noticed and enjoyed.
Beyond the great amount of choices for looks and powers with varying approaches and affects (and effects, hehe), the little random elements of combat is what I love the most in this game. Even if they are mathematically inconsequential, the positioning, the falling, the flailing, the running and all the overall ragdoll physics and options at all of our fingertips, and at the AI's disposal, are enormously consequential for my entertainment and enjoyment.
When I'm playing solo, or on smaller teams, I feel like I really get to enjoy all of that much more than when an 8 (or higher) person team mushes a bunch of FX on top of a large group of faceless enemies for a few seconds before we move on to the next.

Thems just my preferences and tastes.

I really enjoy the game from the standpoint of making a good show with each and every combative interaction.
  12. For a while now, I've become somewhat self absorbed, so to speak, in that I really just enjoy logging into the game, focusing on my character and running nothing but rather generic content: radio/paper missions and the safeguards/mayhems, tip missions and just general street sweeping.
    I love it.
I'm not sure what it is, but when I've tried playing some of the newer story arcs, I just get very disinterested.
My wife occasionally likes to run arcs and I'll team up with her for them, but I often find myself being more annoyed with the arcs than enjoying them.

I'm not ready to lay any blame on the writing or the arcs' mechanics or anything and just attribute it mainly to my own feelings and interests for the time being.

Either way... I've been vastly solo-only for a while and enjoy it quite well.

I might be a bit turned off by the thread title if I didn't think that Dug just likes to initiate potentially interesting discussions. Thread title wording can sometimes be as poor as headlines and I'll not think more on this particular one.

They should have full hair selections under Standard Heads. Were you looking in the Full Mask Heads instead?

Agreed! I was very surprised how quickly this happened... and I wondered if it might foster some negativity, hehe... 'Hey, you can do that THIS fast?? Well COME ON and DO THIS NOW!' More power to them for doing it though!
Also... my maths agree with your maths.
  15. I definitely hope there is a Statesman statue, and I suppose Psyche as well (just hadn't thought of that myself!).

    Also...

  16. Yay!

Congratulations, once again, to Paragon Studios, for being awesome and accomplishing something in coordination with the community.
Not only that, but... JET PACKS!! At long last, we have multiple jet pack costume pieces options!!
I will say though... don't hold back... we could always use more!

Also, again, nice job on the sales too.

Ah, technically that'd be Detail 2 under Standard Heads and Detail 3 under Full Masks.
Both of those being the bottom head detail (where breathers and beards and such go).
  18. Welcome back!
I'm going to offer a bit of different feedback that I hope is helpful and not unwelcome (even if it does miss the mark).

For me (and I understand this may not be true for you), having some sort of concept for the character, that I can then realize through the game's options, makes a world of difference for my enjoyment. I find this game to be remarkable at achieving a wide variety of concepts we can imagine, both in looks and in personal powers.

So, I always try and suggest thinking about who/what you think you'd enjoying pretending to be.

I am not talking about requiring role-playing and/or going any deeper with it than any individual may be comfortable with.
It's not necessarily about anything like that. To me, playing a character that has those elements of interest (whether it is a deep background and persona, or just a thematic look and set of powers from some general idea of an origin) is the difference between watching a movie that I have zero interest in and watching a movie that I'm totally into and going on the ups and downs of the movie's ride.

I only say all this as I've found it can truly be the difference of having fun or not and I've witnessed a few people not fully realizing this. Again, it may not be true for everyone, and the actual AT and powersets can absolutely be just as important... But I just thought I'd add this bit of feedback in and let other, more qualified, people handle the specifics of the ATs and powersets!

Best of luck!! I hope you find your big time fun!
  19. Hrm... Maybe he is a Wookalar.
(hopes someone out there remembers that film)

Go to some of the other servers and start character creation, try the name check at the bottom. It's unlikely to be taken on *all* of them, after all. If it won't take it, it probably would be changed on transfer.
I think the only way to check would be to log into that server and add try to add the name to your friends list. If it gets added, then someone has it.

Of course, that could have changed between then and now, but I would be surprised if that's the case. I would think all the 2-letter characters were grandfathered at the same time and probably keep their names now.
    Aha! First hand experience!
  21. Yeah, great idea on the Test Server transfer!
    And do let us know!!

Also, I just have to say, while it certainly didn't give you the answer you were looking for, that is a pretty awesome reply from a GM.
A lot of people can just dish out rather unhelpful and unsympathetic responses... while he/she didn't get a solid answer back to you, he/she was understanding of your concerns and sympathetic to them and even included friendly advice.

    Kudos to the unnamed GM!

As for the only current way to obtain the Elemental Order pieces... Yeah, I still don't like it.
I'm not interested in anything else offered in those packs and I'm not interested in paying that high of a price to get the costume set. So... I'm waiting for a possible alternative... Might happen one day.

  25. Do we risk getting Synapse into any trouble (lashings from Black Pebble) by quoting these things? And speculating further?

This was the one I was referring to in my previous post.

    Emphasis mine.

Also, double post! As I race and race to catch up with Golden Girl... (kidding, of course).
