Quote:But... then irony will be no more... and the term "irony" will eventually be used only as a physically descriptive adjective (iron-like; made of iron, steel or some other strong metal) and the robot assassins will destroy THEMSELVES!!!I'm making a villain when I get home named
DIE-RONIC
a robotic assassin sent from the future to destroy irony.

Oh... the irony...

Hehe... I think some people need to relax a little more... Put on your big boy/girl pants when going to the BM/WW and relax.
It's a big, tough world out there *nods patronizingly* -
I thought T was for Teets...
Seeing that it was in the game originally, I think it is a valid request within this thread.
Not that this means they'd put them in, and they can come and say "no and stop suggesting it", but otherwise... it's a valid request.
I've never even seen what the models looked like back then. I'm kind of curious to what extent this existed and whatnot.
I can't say I am for or against it without having ever seen how it was or may be implemented. I do find it odd that this simple aspect of basic anatomy would be considered, by some, unthinkable. Obviously the original creators weren't entirely sold on that notion.
Regardless, I also agree that nipples are not blatantly seen through clothes, even in spandex... when/if methods of smoothly covering them are taken. Not having them in-game certainly has not hurt my enjoyment... so, no personal complaints here. -

I'm not sure why I'm going to post this, hehe, but for whatever it is worth...
I don't really believe in any general rule of etiquette on this one, but that is just me.
I have a robotics mastermind and I tend to bring only one robot with me, but that's more of an RP thing for myself. Often times I go just as logging in or logging out and am there without pets.
If I want to stop there... I'll usually park the pets with a stay command (Maybe bringing my Assault Bot with me). I don't mind parking them very nearby though... So long as they're not clunking and clanking around and on top of other players. That's just annoying, regardless.
So... I have my opinions on what is annoying and all that and I have my basic protocol that I seem to follow... But I do not begrudge anyone for leaving their pets out.
Most of the time... I see it as people who don't have great control over their pets. I'd imagine many players don't use the stay commands and such.
Honestly, I've seen much more (What I would consider) rude requests/demands from players asking pets to be sent away or just comments against the player with pets out than truly problematic MMs with pets out.
Again, just myself... I find it kind of rude when players ask other players to put away their pets because they hate the sound or simply "because".
Nothing against anyone nor, certainly, against anyone that takes a serious performance hit from them.
I just see it as part of the game.
I've never asked anyone to shut off Quills nor Arctic Fog... As someone else mentioned... I do use the volume knob on my speakers occasionally for annoying sounds... and/or shift my camera angle to avoid seeing a repeated effect that may be distracting/annoying me.
I do have to add... In general, not just the BM... I find the Demon pets to be the biggest, flashiest and loudest pets in the game and a bit annoying to be around, period.
Then again, it's probably just me, what with being raised in a very annoying demon household. -
Quote:That would be great! I'd love to see it. Doo eet!I'm actually determined to do a comparison between weapons on the female model, because you can't really see the scaling difference on ParagonWiki. The weapons there are shot from all models, given without size reference and oftentimes outdated.
Quote:Since this game is "City of Giants" I made my most recent scrapper 4' 6" I find she gets more buffs that wayThe implication being that players subconsciously factor in a character's smaller size as a possible need for more help, hehe. That's funny. Unless you're little, I guess
Well, I've heard of worse things. -
Fun reads and I enjoyed the pics, hehe.
It looks and sounds like you found what you want, Sam...
But, for prosperity, I'll offer up my thoughts.
Being from another world, that obviously opens up any option you want for size. So, that's great.
You could go max height, but I also think that would be a shame to diminish your other max height female character (Unless, of course, that was what was called for).
Anyway, my initial thoughts were 1) I tend to go by the foot marker behind the slider (Despite knowing the deal with the other NPCs and all in the game). Thusly, 6'8" would probably be around where I'd start for her... but I could definitely go higher. 2) Since she's from this other world you have described, I'd likely go bigger since I don't completely hide myself from the NPC scaling issue... And I'd think anywhere from 7-7'4" would likely do the job.
As you've said... the scale, more than the height, is the real crucial element.
I'd probably beef her up just slightly... But that is entirely just a matter of personal opinion and, regardless, I think she looks great.
I have one design for a human female barbarian type... Actually based on an old D&D character of my wife's. I like the overall look and shape of her, besides not being able to make the arms bulkier (And I'd love to see the alternate muscular texture options come to the game some day). All the stuff in this thread is making me want to go and make her, hehe.
So, looks like you got it right and seems like I may have chosen a similar scale. Just may have gotten there differently.
I wish the citizens were smaller... I don't mind the enemies being larger than one would expect (Even if it doesn't necessarily make sense), but those citizens annoy me, hehe.
Another option is to always travel to Skyway and train with Mynx -
While you can!!!

(Hehe, just a costume and image that I threw together of Malfaz exploring a more patriotic personality...) -
Wow, yeah... I thought I was skirting things when I allowed my files to stay over 100kb... but 1-2 MB is blatant disregard for the stated (And reminded any time you upload a file) 300kb limit.
C'mon, people... this is what community is about. Think of the whole picture a bit, eh?
Anyway... I'll stop myself from saying more, hehe.
Glad to see things are getting better and that people have been fixing their own stuff.
We have to take care of VV -

FIRST TROOPER: Have you seen that new BT-sixteen?
SECOND TROOPER: Yeah, some of the other guys were telling me about it. They say it's, it's quite a thing to ... What was that?
FIRST TROOPER: That's nothing... Don't worry about it. -
David, this is one of the best threads ever created.
Thank you so much!
I hope it proves useful.
Quote:Interesting... I was on a Team, a week or two ago, and a player who went afk had beend efeated and lay in heap in the floor.I don't know if my Search-fu is weak, or if this is a lost costume piece. I recently made a character with a jacket with what appeared to be an Asian Dragon design. I kinda liked that design. Could I have it back?
I looked down at him and suddenly noticed that it looked like they had a dragon design on the back of their trench coat.
They didn't come back for a while, so we moved on and I never got to see the character again.
I had wondered if it was just some odd glitch from the character laying prone on the ground or if it was something more.
I commented about it and the other team members came around and looked and were equally curious (Well, some anyway, hehe).
So... What is the deal with this? I keep forgetting about it.
It looked like it may have been the chest detail dragon symbol from the Martial Arts Booster Pack.
I so very much want those fur shoulders and I agree that those thigh highs must be an option.
Also, those original hairstyles look pretty cool to me! Didn't know about that change (Wasn't around then, I don't believe).
As per an above poster's information that the wrapped face is used by this NPC, here is a picture of Experiment 236 (grabbed from Paragonwiki.com):

Ack!
Here I've been misreading the file size limits all this time...
I thought the limit was 300, hehe...
I have a few over 100 (Though only one [an animated gif] over 200).
Not too many, but I must fix that tonight! -
Just figured I'd chime in and say that I've had the DarkRanger for a good while now with no true travel powers.
Honestly, Swift + Hurdle (three slotted) and Sprint (Two Slotted) is beyond natural ability, heh... But that is what he's traveled with for the past two years. I always RP'd those powers involving grappling hooks and such, sometimes.
It is a viable travel power. Around the same speed as unslotted fly, last time I checked.
With Ninja Run in the mix now too... It is more than viable.
Of course, you can introduce your character to modern technology and go with anything.
Even just grab a jetpack from the Shadow Shard and have fun being a gladiator learning how to fly...
Best of luck! -
I've never heard of 4chan!
When I saw it being mentioned in this thread, at first, I thought it might be a British television channel.
Don't worry... doesn't sound like something I'd care to be familiar with. -

Abe Lincoln.
True story.
Or wait... was it slashdot... No... it was Abe Lincoln. -
Quote:I think it depends on what your upto really, it could be /ice, it could be /nrg, /men or even /dev
You know... that's an interesting thought, hehe...
With /Devices I can solo an Elite Boss without taking a point of damage.
I'm not saying that would be my top answer to this question, but... It just goes to show that there are many ways to skin a catgirl.
While I imagine Ice is the best answer (I've never played one though), I just have to say that an Elec/Elec/Elec is worth mentioning.
Probably not the best... But that's its place, it seems... Not the best, but good all around (It hurts me to say that, because I like to scream that E3 is GREAT... because it is, hehe... but it's more how you use it than the pure numbers themselves).
3 Holds, Endurance Drain, Knockbacks, chances for "sleep" and some good damage (Great melee attacks)... It has some very good survivability. -
Quote:*waves hands in a mystifying manner*I wonder if the Beta people know or not. It might be easily identified by the "city" map, but might not. Might be in one of the arcs.
Note: Not asking the Beta people to tell us, merely a hypothetical "wonder"ing.
Tell us... TELL US... Ooooohhh...
O.o
Don't worry, Dec, I've got you covered, but I did it with great subtlety.
-
I totally agree!
Seriously though... What's wrong with the default font?
I've never bothered to change it... I do find Comic Sans annoying... but I find a lot of things annoying. Like you, reading this right now! Stop that!

That's a nice overview.
I don't know... while there's no entirely new groudbreaking information, it seems to touch on everything all in one place nicely... And I don't know that the specifics of the energy crisis and solution were mentioned before. Although, I could easily have missed it (Either in previous GR info or in the game's arcs).
Raymond Keyes's Anti-Matter breakthroughs are a huge part in what led to Praetorea restoring civilization.
Regardless, I found this to be a very good overview and sent the link to a few people that play, but aren't all that familiar with this stuff yet
I did have one new thought, myself... I really wonder if we will get to visit the "badlands" (so to speak).
Quote:Haha! While that would be an amusing twist, I think I'd, personally, love to get to explore outside the walls and find monstrous obstacles and foes unlike we've seen before (Nuclear Mutation meets Devouring Earth and/or survivors and/or visiting aliensAs much as I love the backstory, I would just die if some high-level arc took you outside the walls of Praetoria only to discover...
...that the rest of the world is doing just fine, and has been carefully watching Emperor Cole's little enclave of mindforked nutjobs with guarded military amusement.)!
Either way! Fun stuff!! -
Quote:Wahooooooooo!!!!!
New York Comic-Con is awesome and will be a great venue for CoX. I have attend it the last two years and I am amazed at how well run it is. This is a fantastic venue for you to showcase the game and its expansion.
Just make sure that your panel does not get scheduled against The Venture Bros. panel...seriously. That event is crazy popular!
Looking forward to hanging with you fine folks in October. Hopefully your events are near the hotel I am staying at (The New Yorker).
This time we can recognize you correctly! -
Wow, I missed the announcement of the 5th location!
I am very happy to see you're coming to my town!
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
Yeah... But when a New Yawka "suggests" something... it holds more weight!
(Just kidding... and I am sorry that people in different places won't get to have a meet and greet near enough to them, but such is life. New York is, obviously, a pretty solid choice and the NYCC is a great event) -
Muhahaha... So much happiness for your birthday, you have duplicate "happy birthday, Ocho" threads to merge!!
Haha
Happy Birfday, you crazy member of PS and Player of CoH/V!
Meeting you, you definitely are more of a player in my mind now, hehe.
(No... not a "playa")
