  1. 1) There are 'Vaults' all over. Each regular Zone has one. Find them on your minimap. Vault storage is again as much as your personal storage capacity.

    2) Blueside, there are 3 Universities with crafting tables, Redside has one University in Cap au Diable and a few Abandoned Laboratories or somesuch with crafting tables in them.

    Without Recipes you can make Common IOs, but it'll cost you an arm and a leg because you also have to buy the Recipe from the crafting table.
  2. Your mistake is really in labelling Defenders and Controllers as squishy. Depending on powersets, a solid Defender or Controller can outlast and out-damage a Scrapper in the upper levels. Not every Defender or Controller can do that to just any Scrapper, but it's noticeable enough.

    So, more appropriately, it should be everyone vs. Blasters and Squids or everyone vs. Tanks and Dwarves.
  3. The real tl;dr:

    Use common sense, [censored].

    OP is boring cause most sensible people realize as much. On the other hand, the people who'd need to see this won't read it.
  4. While I think that the general idea of having a huge multi-team doomsday scenario 'Raid' that is a bit more structured than the current Raid content, the Rikti don't work for this. At least not in the way you lay it out.

    I'd go into this at greater detail, but there's a lot of spoiler stuff here. For one, the Rikti are not from another planet, but from another dimension. Secondly, they're not fully to blame for the war. Thirdly, there's a sizable faction of Rikti who are in diplomatic talks with the humans. Most of the details are revealed in the 40s Hero missions dealing with the Rikti and the RWZ arcs.

    Essentially, given all the relevant information pertaining the Rikti, attacking their homeworld would not be an overly heroic thing to do. Villains might not care, of course. Just another world to plunder and pillage.
  5. Sounds like fun. Shame the Baron's apparently a Monkey.

    Eh.

    I know you have it set up above where you can adjust the frequency - but I can see far too many people learning about this and *not doing so* because their little phrase is "lulz kool." I already see that, fortunately rarely, with binds.

    Personally, I'll keep my characters personality in my hands via RP. Putting in an in-game system, I think, would turn most "personalities" into simply "annoying." (Yes, I *do* see where you can "just ignore their banter" or "ignore the banter channel" - I think within a week it'd be shut off on all my characters second only to Depth of Field.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This. One experience teaming with somebody who had a macro to shout mystic-sounding gibberish for every single attack on his mage-type character is enough to make me not want to encourage anything similar. It'd look a bit silly for characters to be jabbering an endless string of quips during battles, anyway. If it were capped at about a 5% chance of triggering on any given event and you had multiple lines available to mix things up a little, it could be tolerable.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Oh [censored] Gods yeah. I remember walking an SG mate through setting up binds and macros. Turned out he used it to set every power he had at his command with a name that the character would shout when using it. Which in the course of a single combat produces an amazing amount of spam. And it gets repetitive after you've run the first mission together.

    Fun Hero Builds?

    Do you have Phantom Army yet? Past Phantom Army, Ill/Rad is pretty much the easiest, safest soloing set there is. It's really quite boring like that.

    If you want something a bit more involved, roll a Storm Defender. Storm/Sonic if you want to mow through single targets, Storm/Dark for AOE and some extra control. You shoot [censored] in the face, you get 30% extra total damage past Freezing Rain and you're nigh-untouchable past Hurricane. Plus, you get some of the coolest-looking powers in game with Thunderclap and Lightning Storm. Not to mention that nothing says [censored] power of the gods like knocking enemies around and summoning thunder and lightning.

    As in blasting someone with insects? Like, throwing a caterpillar at them? Am I missing something here?

    During the Party People at the party can challenge other party goers to PvP and compete for the ultimate prize.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Wouldn't it be more fun to draw lots based on 'prize' preferences?

    With regard to preferences I'm mostly thinking of allegiances, actually. A Redsider might want a prize they can drag along as an SKed toadie, a Bluesider might care for someone they can actually toss in a proper prison etc. Of course you could then end up with an uneven number. But come on, random seems like it'd be far more fun. Or potentially catastrophic, which would probably also be fun for everyone else.

    Dark Control (seems pretty easy, half or more could be proliferated)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Not to Controllers if you'd also give them Dark Miasma. On Doms, with an Assault set pulled from Dark Melee and Dark Blast, sure. This is assuming you aim for thematically matching sets, mind.

    Sorcery

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Just out of curiosity, what should a Sorcery set do? 'Sorcery' is a very wide and badly defined field. First and foremost, it makes me think of curses and blessings, which suggests a Buff/DeBuff set. But what would the effects look like? Do you invoke the names of Angels and Demons who materialize to grant you your wishes? Do you wave a phallic symbol of some kind about? Wiggle your fingers? What colour is it, what do Sorcery effects look like?

    For reference: My idea of how to play a Sorcerer is this: Pick the Magic Origin at chargen. Pick whatever AT and Powersets you think are most appropriate. Cause I know I couldn't rightfully define a term like Sorcery in any way that could be crammed into a Powerset or three.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
    What there is in game is several Archaic weapon sets that actually were in consistant use as little as 200 years ago. Definately time honored themes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    200 years ago? I'm still using a longsword today. Great for getting at that guy who stole your parking spot, salesman or Jehova's Witnesses at the door or when you locked yourself out.

    Personally, I want to see a PBAOE DeBuff centric set for meleers. Toxic Melee, Radiation Aura, something like that. Also, a click-based defensive set would be interesting.

    Thematically, I want Density Control (as a defensive set, not as a Control set) and a more punchy attack set than [censored] Super Strength.
  12. /name

    On a more serious note, I don't give a flying [censored] about this topic one way or another. But I could have sworn someone made that very same suggestion just yesterday. Search before you [censored].

    However, currently there is no advantage to being team leader.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I actually have to disagree with this statement. Having that little star in my Navbar tends to help me a lot when I'm on a Buffer/DeBuffer, because I need one eye on the team roster, one eye on the enemies and I plain don't have a third eye to figure out where, physically, my teammates actually are. the star is usually a good indicator though.

    Which is, of course, not an advantage for the leader. But for me, it is.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
    ...sooooo what will be the "PERFECT" makeup for team play:

    [/ QUOTE ]

    */* Controller
    */* Controller
    */* Corruptor
    */* Corruptor
    */* Corruptor
    */* Defender
    */* Defender
    */* Defender

    There, even with Powersets added in.
  15. I don't see that particular problem, actually.

    I vastly prefer playing a Corr to playing a Defender, though I have heaps of both. For one, Corrs don't have an Inherent that's useless past level 22 for most of them. Bringing them Blueside would actually be one thing to look forward to.

    And incidentally, the best possible team makeup has just expanded from 8 Defenders/Controller to 8 Defenders/Controllers/Corruptors on either side.

    As for Tanks replacing Brutes? Let them. Brutes were never meant to be Tanks. MMs were meant to be Tanks, but most MM players shiver at the prospect of losing one of their prized Henchmen. But then I try not to team with either Tanks or MMs.

    As far as making teams goes? The numerical differences between the various incarnations of the Buff/DeBuff sets aren't that big. In some cases, sets behave exactly the same, numerically. Moreover, you can never have enough Buffers/DeBuffers until your team is full. Sure, the Corr has smaller numbers, but adds more Damage and is not a Blaster. That's two Pros to one Con.

    What bothers ME personally is the supposed Alignment System. I portray my characters the way I want. Some are bad guys living in the Rogue Islands. Some are not so bad. Some are nice guys who just happen to live there. Same goes for Paragon. I definitely don't need a metric to tell me if I'm doing it right.

    Almost all players do belong -or have belonged- to a super group since SGs were first introduced. But only a few updates have been introduced regarding SGs. The Devs have actually made SGs worse by removing a key purpose of an SG. That being SG Missions from the Mission Computer. Now Mission Computers raid Teleporters and Item Vaults are kinda pointless. Also, unless you are on a busy server you will never have more than 18 members on at once to do a Trial or Raid. So what's the point other than TPs and Storage?

    <ul type="square">[*]We need a new Base Editor interface and stacking ability cause what we have now sucks.
    [*]We need the SG Mission Computer to tie into AE and run custom SG missions.
    [*]We need a ton more decorative and base items non tech or arcane.
    [*]How about a medium power generator? We have simple Power and Control types, we have basic, then massive with nothing in between.[/list]
    If you make an AE mission computer and give it 3 slots for custom missions and permissions for creating a custom AE SG mission that alone would breathe purpose into SGs. Or a redesign of the Base Editor and new stuff to put into your Bases could give SGs a new look. For example, you could add more SG missions and rewards like new unlockable equipment, more TP Beacons, for example to PVP Zones and a Training Room for 1 on 1 PVP for SG members or target dummies to test out powers and tactics. That would give SGs a new feel. If you feel SGs need updating please reply.

    Don't be a fool, go the [censored] back to school. Or don't post from your [censored] mobile phone, whichever may apply.
  17. Oh! It just occured to me that I overlooked a build I'm actually running. I consider it the 'smart man's Blaster'. That is to start from either a Spines or Claws Scrapper. Spines has huge advantages in Damage Type and a proper Build Up, but Claws recharges faster. Add the Dark APP for 3 extra ranged attacks if you will include Torrent. Either way, without Global Recharge Bonus you can almost juggle your eventual two ST Blasts. If you can't, throw in a Cone. Rinse, Repeat. Go with Super Reflexes and get Hasten for best Rech before any IO Set Bonus.
  18. Yeah, that'll be great. One more reason not to PUG as people fight over who gets the star and associated bonusses.

    Crusader:
    Primary Set: Melee Damage
    Secondary Set: Buff/heal
    Description: The paladin, the commander, the leader, the crusader is always in the frontlines supporting his team.

    They should have tank level damage and health and have controller level buffs, no debuff sets available.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This is the only one of your ideas I can moderately get behind. Buff/DeBuff Sets and Melee Damage sounds like a great idea. But why limit it to Buffing only? If you'll be in melee you'll likely need some way to defend yourself so as not to be overwhelmed once hit with a single Mez. The DeBuff sets provide plenty of tools to extend your own survival while most Buffs are ally-only. Not to mention that the name is a terrible choice because it evokes a ton of historical connotations.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Spy:
    Primary Set: Manipulation/Assault(similar to blaster and dominator secondaries, a mix of control and ranged)
    Secondary Set: Stealth/Defense
    Description: The rogue, or trickster, the spy is all about sneaking into enemy territory and mixing things up.

    They should have defender level damage and tank level defense and scrapper level health, they use tactical powers to control the battle field and are very hard to kill, lots of soft control like kb and slows, unlike the existing assault/manipulation sets they will mostly have ranged attacks..

    [/ QUOTE ]

    There's something you're not telling me here. Like how you'd ever be able to solo this character, if you wanted to. Sure, you'd be able to survive for very long. You'd also need to because it would take you forever to get anything to die. I presume you don't remember pre-Containment Controllers?

    [ QUOTE ]
    Tyrant:
    Primary Set: Melee Damage
    Secondary Set: Pets
    Description: The Tyrant rules with an iron fist! He has a huge army of followers of which he leads into battle himself.

    They have above tanker level damage, blaster level health and mastermind style pets, possibly take out one or both of the pet upgrade powers and put in a self defensive power.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    So, essentially, you want an AT that is a Meleer without any kind of Mez Protection and Pets because...? It seems like a really bad idea. I loathe Pets and their pathing when I'm on a Melee character because they tend to get in my way a whole damn lot. Having my own Pets to get in my way seems like the worst idea ever, cause then I have noone to blame but myself.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Destroyer:
    Primary Set: Ranged Damage
    Secondary Set: Melee Damage
    Description: The true glass cannon, the destroyer does just that, destroys, he seems fragile but the chances of getting close enough to test that theory are slim.

    They have blaster level damage, defender level health and no defensive or control like powers, maybe an inherent or power in every set based on speed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Uh. That IS pretty much how (non-Devices) Blasters used to be. In fact, Blasters had even less HP than Defenders. Didn't do them a load of good.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Enforcer:
    Primary Set: Debuff
    Secondary Set: Control
    Description: Enforcers control the battle, they cannot do much in the frontlines but they can ensure a victory for a side of their choosing by working in the background.

    Their damage and health are both very low, their debuff values are less than a controller, their inherent increases their debuff strength on mezzed enemies, their primaries are only debuff sets.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    If their DeBuff values are less than a Controller's, why would you not just play a [censored] Controller? You'd already get a boost on your Controls out of the gate by it being your Primary Set and still get better DeBuffs. Not to mention a slew more damage.
  20. Actually, given a goodly amount of Global Recharge, you can kind of make a Blaster Brute. SS/ELA/Mu is probably the likeliest candidate for this, though other combinations can do it too.
  21. Please. This is Virtue.

    Plus. Even if it's not intended to be, you can't tell me that's not kinky.

    Gravity (Again)

    &lt;QR&gt;

    I really liked the idea of making Lift an AOE. I find this particular fiendish since Grav's Immob doesn't have the -KB component other Controller Immobs have. That would allow you to have some amount of reliable if very soft Control before Wormhole. Lock them down with Crushing Field, keep them more or less on their backs with Lift.

    Of course, Lift would have to be moved back in the list (making it AOE would roughly make it the equal of Mind's Terrify) or have its Damage component reduced.
  23. Personally, I couldn't find the humour in the OP. As per usual, I was dead serious all along.
  24. I did not exactly forget it, but I figure you apparently fulfill the first part so much, the second part can be ignored. Shame there's no way to measure correcting people on their English. This thread totally makes me lust for a 'Grammar Nazi' badge I could proudly flag.

    Edit: Yay for the addition. Though I personally feel the 'Crybaby' title is ill-chosen. A 'Crybaby' is more like someone who needlessly and openly complains about something that is not really a big issue. Since reporting forums stuff is a bit more underhanded, wouldn't something like 'Backstabber' be more appropriate?
