Levelled my scrapper from 31 to almost 38!
Made me log in lots of times again just to play him

Bit of an update
The character im using which made me start this topic is an elec/fire armour scrapper. Currently level 37 and between the levels 35 - 35 [35 when i made the thread] i have made 10 million in selling my unwanted items on the character.
Went to WW and the influence raised from 2 levels worth was enough to buy me 2 IOs only that i wantedMainly being PbAoE ones which by the way are going to cost me a BOMB
To me i like to get the "basic" set up ready for by the time im level 50 which i can then start going around to raising the stats/bonuses of my character to the point which i feel comfortable. I know that it'll cost me 100 million easy to do the basic but im now even more shocked at the 12/15 billion influence being thrown around hereI wouldnt know what to do with that kind of money!
[wow thats a lot of's!]

Throw your mind back say 4 years ago, a competition shout out with a prize of say 1 million would be met with gasps. These days a million influence would get nothing but laughs.
To start getting any sort of attention you really have to start at 100million and thats pretty darn hard for a new player!
This hit me earlier as i was levelling my scrapper and realised just how "poor" that alt was [had only 6 million on it] and could only afford a single IO at my level that i wanted. When i first started the game, when i reached 100k i thought i was rich . . . .
So these days, what amount of influence would make you turn your head and go woah nice! Im going to enter that competition!
1 million is literally nothing anymore [yet still hard to get for new players who dont know much about the game]
10 million still seems a bit "meh"
100 million? Seems the minimum requirement these days.
Looking at the player events section last few months i see nonstop competitions with prizes of 1 billion PLUS and has it really come to that stage of inflation that you need to make insane amount of money just to get peoples attention?
[some of you might see this as pointless but i am honestly shocked at how "poor" my alts feel and i have a few hundred mill on some of them!] -
Quote:Ok, I'm coming back to the game after a long absence, had some builds I wasnt quite done with I'd like to finish out, and wanted to check out GR, but anyway.
I played some other games in my absence, and in those games, since they were older games, most of the players had made it to endgame and had everything they needed and most quests done expcpt for the big nasties. And because of this top-heaviness I found these games to be rude to the point of hostile for a new player. I wasn't properly geared therefore I was insulted and discarded regularly.
I was wondering if that has happened here, or is this still a friendly place? When I left everyone was happy :-) Have no reason to expect otherwise, but just thought I'd ask.
NoobBuster here, if you make any noobish mistakes then i shall bust you!
But hey welcome backWe're still friendly

My ma/sr scrapper has as much run enhancements in it as possible. Love being able to run that fast without clicking anything!

Quote:I don't intend to sound mean or anything by this, but are you sure said player was actually a girl? It could have been some weird, creepy guy RP'ing a girl.
I wanted to say that too but thought best not
Wierd story damz time:
[clears throat]
For a laugh me and this girl i know ingame [an actual girl!] decided to make alts of the opposite sex and stand around in atlas trying to "hook up" with people. This was because she kept getting asked by guys to add them to msn and stuff, so we thought lets see if its you or just because your on a girl alt.
So we make the alts [me a girl character and her a male one] and we start pretend flirting with everyone that walks past us. Not only does she get guys chatting her up again [yes they were that way inclined] but i didnt have no-one! I felt useless as a woman -
Quote:Ok, I'll give a run-down then.
Caves map. We came around the corner and there was a dip down, via which we could see a cloud of fluffies. The map was on track with us, so no one had been 'scouting' or anything idiotic.
We ran in to try and get a lock on the crystal, standard stuff. The combination of masses of fluffies and Tuatha (There was about 3 bosses in that mob) faceplanted us.
We ran through it about four times, until we managed to nuke the cyst itself.
My main problem is that these things spawn a huge ammount of Lts and Bosses as well as minions. They also use AoE attacks. So, the entire team gets munched on by AoE -speed -recharge neg energy attacks from about 3 spawns worth of fluffies.
This was around level 32, I think? Team leader was 30, some of us were 29. So, going from 'capable diff as long as we're careful' to 'lol faceplant'...sorry, but that just seems unreasonable to expect EVERYONE to be able to deal with that sort of thing off the bat. There just doesn't seem to be any cap as to how many of those damn things spawn.
Actually joined that warshades team an hour after you posted the screeniesEvery mission we kept wishing for a cyst but nothing appeared
All we had was red caps. Now give me an ambush of cysts anyday over an ambush of red caps!!!! -
Whats the issue with it?
-
Hopefully he'll come back soon. Maybe his forces are the foes that can match us blow for blow since he has access to "mirrored versions" of anything our side [think of all the nemesis and council there].
Really like fighting the enemies since each different mob of his is different. From psy to brute strength to controls, and each one packs a wallop! -
Quote:They were +2 to the team leader, +3 to me due to being SK'd.
I understand the 'challenge' aspect, but it is not a welcome one. When you are happily dealing with +2 missions are a steady pace, to suddenly run into a roadblock that can two shot you is not fun.
For me it isNothing better than running into a group of enemies that SEEM impossible to beat but find a way to overcome it.
L - l - l - l - l - l - l - l - ovveeeeee those moments -
Quote:No, Damz. Seriously. Those things were one shotting people. One AoE volley and three team members were dead, stat. Even our Shade in Dwarf form and with some fender shields on was getting chewed up and spat back out in seconds.
Oh i see it as a challenge and a good one as that!I'ld use the WB temp phase power to "draw" them into a huddle and grab their initial agro. Then the team could purely go nuts and try and destroy the cyst, would require a massive quick onslaught onto the cyst but could work

SCRAPPERLOCK!!! -
Quote:ohhhh you mean the third meaning, that she's falling in love with my character in game rather than me or roleplaying that she is. I see.
so... you're saying she fell in love with a collection of pixels that she knew represented someone else? odd. as I said, I haven't been roleplaying him as anything but a hero with my mind, so it comes down to costume design?
...wow, maybe I should sell this design if that's the case...
any takers for a costume gua-ran-teed to have women chasing you from Atlas park all the way to peregrine? you won't be able to swing a dead(er) vahzilok without hitting a prospective lover! do I hear 4 million influence?
Which is why you'll mostly get replies of "run away" since how genuine is the love if its purely in the words or your character. You'll be suprised at how often people fall in love with something that isnt actually real.
Is it them trying to grasp onto something that they think is perfect? Possibly.
The way i see it is that you can LIKE somebody as a friend just from words but to fall in love you must [at a minimum] know what they look like. Otherwise [imo] it just isnt real.
Plus . . . . she was a bit full on werent she? -
I'ld like to thank the following people for making the following products.
- Those new microwave £1 meatball subs that are selling in shops currently. They are GORGEOUS!
- Parma Violet sweets.
- The tv show "dinosaurs" . . . . NOT THE MAMMA!
- Greggs tuna crunch salad sandwhich.
- Chicken Royale meals in burger king.
- Dr pepper . . . . hey whats the worst that could happen!

Quote:hm. fair enough points. but I'd at least like to say that I apologize for offending her in any way.
Which is a good quality of yourself then if you feel like you have to apologize for not having the same feelings.
As a general rule, any girl who falls madly in love with me within the first few weeks of knowing me can only lead to trouble and thus keep far away as possible.
But you have to ask, is she in love with you or your character? -
Being brutally honest? Keep away
-
Feel lucky that we get as much interaction with the devs as we do

Quote:Oh well I will not let the door slam on the way out.
Due to the recession i am having to sell my house so my COH sub will be up in April and i cannot see a single thing here that will make me resub.
Poor comunication,I 17 ultra mode for a pc i canot even afford and the slow carcass of the EU community slowly crawling on its elbows .
Going Rouge looks like it will not bring players back to the game or indeed entice new players.
Its been fun while it lasted and i shall miss you all .....
Think if you have to sell your house then keeping sub'd to a game is the least of ya worries!
Best of luck in it though, hope works out for you! -
- Thinking up new "forms" of damz for my ingame persona. At the moment its busting. Whats next? Well i got a few ideas brewing lets say.
- Seeing something totally unexpected ingame. Being shot at by titans in a MA mission from out of nowhere is STILL my best OMG WTF LMAO moment, just wish i remember which arc because now i want to play it again!
- Lightning rod. That power is the sole reason i made an elec/ scrapper!
