Quote:The thought of such well-known players as Damz etc leaving for the US really does make me sad.
well you know one of the reasons why i've decided to play NA mostly now mate
Dont get me wrong though, my EU account will always be the one that i play if they ever did do a merger. My characters on it just have too much time and effort in them to totally throw away -
Weather effects on a constant loop? Not a huge fan of it.
Weather effects in a mission? Yes please! -
Quote:Thank you guys for responding so fast happy to know i have room for mistakes lol
Every new player are allowed 100 mistakesSoon as those 100 are up . . . . i'll be waiting
But hey welcome to the game! What we need to know though, is what server are you going to pick? Hero or villain? AT? PvP or PvE? Egg or bacon?
All need to know answers! -
Quote:Just curious if any of you folks are now on the US servers? Most of you (probably all) won't remember me but i've noticed a couple of names in this section that i recognise.
I used to keep a US account running alongside my EU ones when i played and decided to reactivate that one instead of the EU's at the weekend for population reasons, but it would be grand to get with some EU folks when playing. Characters i played most back then were Kabaal (Emp def and beloved first toon, not counting a deleted blaster who preceded him), Be-elzebub (DM/Regen Scrapper) both on Defiant my original home, and Zep (Spines/Regen Scrapper) on Onion that despite my misgivings of the smell over there AoW made feel welcome, and supplied the appropriate nose plug. Those toons are from a looong time ago.
Currently playing on Virtue.
Reactivated my NA account [not even at the 3 month vet mark so everybody thinks im a newb!] and now currently play 80% NA and 20% EU.
Have been on some MAJOR car crash PUGs already. Was on a posi tf last night and me being the emp defender, my job was to keep the team alive. Well that was the hardest job in the world. Most of the team just kept splitting up all over the map! But chaos is fun so i guess i cant really complain
My first day there i had an old mate recognise my global and said hiThat one moment of him going
"Holy **** its you damz!"
was worth the reactivationSlowly getting to know people on there. Playing on freedom since its easily 400 - 700 people online at the time that i play and constantly being invited for things. So send me a tell @damz if you fancy teaming
Healer damz [currently level 30 emp/rad defender]
Noob Buster [currently level 25 fire/dark scrapper]
Ultimate Damz [currently level 6 elec/shield scrapper] -
Quote:Allegedly I got ignored for it. Not like that advise isn't all over the place.
Edited to fleshout the #3 answer: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=215784
Ah dont worry i totally know that buffs/debuffs are entirely more effective than plain old healzI just made one since it reminds me of one of my oldest and first characters when i first joined the game 54 months ago
Quote:Weird isn't it, to be able to get PuGs on demand like the old days rather than via Globals or relying on a Friends list?
Quote:To the OP ... welcome to Freedom! It's true, healing is in demand here, and you will have no problem finding a team who will love you to bits ... well, except for one person...
I get a lot of blind invites. For the most part I usually end up with some pretty decent PuGs. Check out the Horde if you can and hope to see you in game.Yeah i noticed you have a fair bit of players who like to charge in to battle constantly without any warning [and thus needing instant attention]. Though at least it keeps me busy as a healer. I actually feel more of a hero for saving a team of noobs

Quote:They're just taking pity on you for rolling a healer in the first place. Don't want you to be bored an' stuff.
Glad you're digging it here. If you feel like chiming in on one of the Horde runs on your day off (they'd be typically 3am for you, if you're GMT), make sure you make some noise about showing up, or hell, we could do something on a weekend afternoon (evening for you) just to be nice.
We do that here. Y'know, make nice to server newbies. No, srsly.
(I'm guessing you hail from Union then?)
More than likely only time i can be on that late is weekends due to work but will defo from time to time
Yes from union[still play on it though, so im half EU and half NA atm]
Thanks for the welcome people!
Finally . . . . you people have people who hang around atlas charging people for a SB? -
To keep in line with the US updater could the following be added so that EU players who dont visit the forums have more information on them
- Server Status
- Known Issues
- Patch updates
- Update the GR pre-purchase information. At the moment it currently states that by pre-ordering GR you get early access to DP and DS early which will be shortly released after i17. With both i17 and DS on live now, it makes sense to update the information here.
- No 6th year annivers contest information
- Finally . . . . . is there a way to make it more visually attractive? Just seems so bland at the moment.

Just reactivated my US account and been playing on emp defender healer damz again on freedom and got to say, love it!
Dont take this as an insult but i love the challenge that in most of the PUGs i've been on so far have been a bit [whats the word?] dumb. Has made being an emp defender fun and active again! Seen a good few players so far though obviously but love the fact that so far it seems 8/10 people on this server needs a constant healer on them
That being said, somebody get me a supergroup thats active during EU daytime please!
Just wanted to say hi reallyCatch you all ingame!
@damz -
Want to make him harder? Heres my ideas for what its worth
- At ***% health he activates a temp high mag repel shield while his body and mind are coming back in to the realisation of what he has become.
- Placate - You fall for him begging you to not kill him [the rikti side of him].
- At low health when he is almost fully aware of being half rikti/half hero, he activates his self destruct/nova power
- Using rikti technology he is able to summon a rikti portal [untargetable] with continous swarms of rikti piling out.
Magic man arc is again perfect example of this. -
Thanks to everyone who came
Full team synpase was created rather quickly and apart from the one mission that was bugged went rather smoothly
Now i finally got my TF accolade! Woo go me! -
Top temp powers for me:
- The new recovery serum - GREAT for AV/GM fights on a small team
- Radio Backup - helps out the low levels greatly against a hard boss
- Jetpack - until i get the veteran reward to fly at level 6
- Snowball
- Wedding band
- All the nukes
-
Since its the only tf left that i need for the accolade, i'll be running one today at 1pm [welsh time
].
So if you are interested in it, make sure you are on at that time

Theres the link for you. Quite a shock at how much the game has changed since this interview mind! [yes i was bored by the way!]
Quote:That alone sounds VERY cool!!!Jonric: Moving on to the player characters, what are the steps involved in creating one? What choices will players have in selecting or modifying the starting character's abilities, gender, physical features et al?
First, a player selects his gender. Then the player chooses the origin of his hero. We've created a number of rather broad categories that embrace the essence of super hero origins. The initial seven are Altered Human, Mutant, Superior Human, Magical Powers, Mystical Artifact, Cyberware, and Gadgeteer. The choice of origin is not cosmetic; each origin comes with its own advantages and disadvantages. Some origin types might be able to get more powers, but those heroes won't be able to advance those powers to their maximum. Other origins might be able to use their powers with less effort, but those powers might also cost more for them than other origin types. -
Quote:I just click the options i want then click the random button until one pops up that i like the sound of. Problem solved then really.
Eventually a fellow SG-mate gave me his arc number which was entertaining. But I could have been there all night trying to find something worth playing unless I stuck to the HoF/Dev Choice arcs or ones gleaned from the forums. Pretty depressing news for the story minded. -
Quote:Not only do civilians have the power to push you out of the way, they also have the amazing power to penetrate stealth. My stealthy toons will be on the street after covertly dispatching bad guys and ordinary citizens will pass them and wave. Sometimes they even address my character by name. How the heck do they see me? Fortunately, they don't seem inclined to abuse the power like Rikti drones or Nemesis snipers.
lol i just pictured a stealthy hero going in for the sneak arrest when he spots a civillian and legs it -
I do wish the arachnos outfit temp power was perma though

Gladiators are you ready! Ocho . . are you ready! LETS GET READY TO RUMMMBBBLLLEEEE! -
Quote:lol thats usually the reason why i love collecting them so much, for reactions just like this!
The scrapper says in team chat, "Guys, you wouldn't believe what the emp just did." -
There are many different "groups" of people ingame.
- Pvpers
- Roleplayers
- Farmers
- Badgers
- Base Builders
- Rich lucky *****
Does anybody else do this? Go through the game determined to get as many of the temp powers as possible, regardless of whether or not you'll actually use them?
My name is damz and i am a temper! -
Yesterday i played through a random 5 mission arc which had only 7 ratings i believe, it had a good solid storyline about the vanguard sword and a custom group joining forces.
Custom mobs looked excellent in both their design and power choices and the storyline/influence/tickets rate [was on a 50 so no xp] was also good -
Quote:In cardiff i sometimes see people wearing shorts when it is clearly freezing outside . . . . . . world gone mad i tell you!!!!
Ugh... Guys! "Shall" is only used in the first person, as in "I shall" and "we shall." However, "your first incarnate" is in the third person, so that has to be "who will."
On topic, i'ld use my main, my illusion mastery/radical powers controller.

Good luck on this
I cant make it since i work every other saturday and next weeks is my sat in
Best of luck though! -
