When people talk MMOs they tend to be stupid and always think they are dying.

Here's a list of the top 10 MMOs based on their latest known sub base...

    01. WoW 10,000,000
    02. RuneScape 1,250,000
    03. L1 1,000,000
    04. L2 1,000,000
    05. FFXI 500,000
    06. Dofus 450,000
    07. EVE <250,000
    08. EQ2 200,000
    09. EQ ~175,000
    10. LOTRO <150,000
    10. CoX <150,000

That's right folks to get top 10 you only need to convince 150k people to keep with your title. And CoH/V is a top 10 MMO.

People always think MMOs are dying because they don't have 10,000,000 subs, but as you can see that's a rather extreme out lier that is a full order of magnitude above even it's second place.

A big hit is 100k or higher with MMOs. And having 2 or more in that category... that's pretty rare obviously. SOE has 2. NCsoft has 3. everyone else has 1

If it turns out that way then...

If this was "Anonymous" they seriously ****** up and now that they've done something with so much lack of forethought and caused such damage they need to be obliterated legally and any of them that disagree really don't believe in what you here people supporting anon say they are all about.

If this was a small unknown group or persons... they need to be made an example of and have the severest punishments we can inflict on them legally.

If this was a terrorist group or cyber war act... just more reasons why governments suck

(Unless she wanted to go Silver Age instead of the modern design.)
Not the whole thing. The main costume needs to be shinier imo.

The boots are wrinkly and to me it doesn't look good. If you made the boots from the same material as the rest of the costume it would look so much better, especially when you factor in that the way it is now the body spandex and the boots don't look like they are from the same costume.

edit: also the leg holes in the pictures of star sapphire are at a more acute angle, and higher on the hips, but without direct reference I don't think anyone would ever pick up on that ^.^
  5. according to images of the character, the neck piece should be bigger and the star should be smaller, closer to the naval and have a set of 4 holes around it to give the look of a circle. Also the boots should have a point rather than flat...

It seems that you should figure a way to make th spandex more shiny and the boots tighter...

other than that... i see no problems. I'd be happy to keep lookin though
  6. MMOs are amazingly under represented... while Zelda is over represented and not all of them are art

Yeah that's about the only one done on screen and done over the course of a few eps

    Lyta comes back
Talia reveals herself and is taken away
Lyta is put in Talia's place and Bester makes it clear she isn't coming back

Each event happens in a dif episode

    In the case of Sinclair...

1episode "We're getting a new captain!" "where's sinclair?" "He went to minbar" "why?" "Someone wanted him there!"

So the idea of a secular government allowing for the protection and tolerance of any religion's "sacrosanct-ness" is a perfectly reasonable concept. Like I said it's been working in the United States relatively well for over 200 years now. *shrugs*
As I said and explained the US does not hold any religion sacrosanct.
If someone were to perform a mayan human sacrifice to Quetzalcoatl they would be prosecuted under the law, which is secular.

The reason anything Sacrosanct doesn't work is because it cannot be challenged. If according to my belief you should be put to death it cannot be question and you must be put to death. Under this law everyone who is not x should be killed instantly. It's unquestionable and you can't say its wrong and if you can't say its wrong or question it then it is right in the eyes of the law, especially when it makes positive claims.

It is simply a poorly worded point in the script and isn't what was meant, probably, by the writer. What was meant is that religions would be respected and honored within the alliance. Which is generally ok, but over time, as we have seen in real life, nutters will make that stance slowly be retracted. This was written 20 years ago so its understandable that it wasn't considered at the time.

No, we have the opposite stated in the US constitution and letters of the founding fathers.

We have a secular government...or at least we are supposed to... how things work and such is another issue. Holding any religion as sacrosanct causes problems and holding all sacrosanct causes infinitely more. We hold that NO religion or belief is sacrosanct and that no religion is to be promoted or held to be true or false thus allowing each citizen to make up their own mind about their beliefs.

And actually he did put a story in there that shows why religion is bad that people ignore in real life, it's expected they'd ignore it in a fake world too.

I finally was able to watch it all the way through...

It was better than I had previously given credit to it with some good comedy, action, speeches, and philosophical incites...

The problems with it that i have largely come from pacing and a lot of stuff happens off camera... like almost every cast switch in the series.

Sinclair, the first doctor, Lyta, Ivanova, and just about every about every cast switch you hear about them having left in between episodes up until the very last season where everyone is leaving.

Speaking of the last season... I would have loved to see that cast get a chance to shine... having 2 strong female leads, the new Narn ambassador, and Vir Koto... and possibly a new Mimbari ambassador... though like they said in the last episode them leaving did make it sort of redundant...to which they should have made B5 the home port of the Alliance which would have made more sense than moving it to mimbari... They were buying the station any ways so wth? and that leads me to my other problem with the series...

It's called something like the first fully planned out sci-fi tv series ever, but I've seen better laid out and executed series. A war every season is just stupid when you consider it is a year each season and if they were really series about making a new franchise they should have planned out waaaaay further and took their time telling the stories in a more realistic time line. (which btw...all the war and such are accelerated but apparently having all the advanced tech around for some reason has them with a pretty slow learning timeline from what we see in the future eps) characters leave off screen as if they didn't know they were going to lose them as part of the cast while at the same time many things in the show are "just so" moments where a lot of things just happen due to the story needing them to happen rather than them happening plausibly.

(next part may be a bit too politcal/religious oriented. It's political philosophy and supporting a given political stance, but rather how that given political philosophy acts within those occurrences)
And lastly for a show that tried to set down such political ideals they really did sort of mess up. They had Penn and Teller on there and they were unallowed to do anything political messages. They tried raise the ideals of the secular government, but noone raised an issue with the whole "what's earth's major religion" which should have been straight said that none are endorsed over another OR it should have been expressed in better language that the freedom of choice is held above any given religion. G'Kar put in that all religions are "sacrosanct" but that is antithetical to a secular organization trying to promote peace. You simply can not hold all beliefs to be sacrosanct as most religious beliefs are contradictory and are unresolvable if both are held sacred. No government of the nature we are talking about would ever hold to that. They seem to not understand their own political philosophic beliefs and while they wanted to promote secularism, unity, and peace they did quite a lousy job and described a world which could never reach those goals due to their own inability to understand the problem with both secularism and the sacrosanctness of religion.

    (end of political/religous discussion)

Overall the show seems more of a jumbled mess than a well thought out story, but a pretty entertaining ride.

    Skating Spidey

Not just bad casting... bad idea. SKATEBOARDING IS ANTITHETICAL TO PETER PARKER!

Parker is a clumsy, social outcast, loser. He's smart and witty, but he can't back any of it with any sort of social graces or strength. He's not "quirky." He's not a "misunderstood rebel."

What is wrong with these people? How is this concept so hard to grasp?

Am I just missing something really obvious?
    Yes.

Silence Falling = Silence Spreading = Silence Conquering

    In other words

The Silence will fall over the whole of the universe is the same as saying Darkness will fall over the whole of the universe...

Where there is light now there will be darkness
Where there once was the roar of the big bang now there will be silence

It's a pretty simple and direct thing to say.
  15. has nothing to do with concentration. He has a level of invulnerability that allows him to take x amount of force...Once that threshold is breached he takes damage. The amount of damage is lessened due to his entire body being invulnerable to the x amount so if a bullet hit his first layer of skin which can take 1000 pounds of force and the bullet is delivering 1010, the first layer of skin is broken but the second layer is still stopping it.

also he does have super strength...how could you think he doesn't?
  16. A particularly evil power would be the power to grant others any power you'd like withfor any amount of time you'd like with any restrictions on the power you'd like.

Superman was/is an honorary citizen of the USA... We don't know about other countries, but it is probably true that he has citizenship in several countries while guaranteed he is not a citizen of a place like Quraci.

Beyond that the JL is more or less an independent city-state to a degree so...yeah >.>

As far as "American way" well I have to point out that I myself support the constitution and the initial ideals laid down when the US was forming... however, I don't support the government as it is now and don't think I would at any point in its history given that the "american way" has always been to Lie about your intentions of moral superiority while trying to greedily acquire power and being bigoted towards one or more groups of people that are not the wealthy "majority" and this is more or less how the world sees the US and what the american way is.

In essence Lex Luthor represents the "American Way" far better while Superman is more the representative of the ideals that the US pretends to support. And the battle between them is closer to the battle between Idealogical naivety and Pragmatic excess.

And... it seems rather interesting that the line is "Truth, Justice, and the American way" which implies that Truth and Justice are not part of the american way... otherwise the line is redundant ^.^

Another reason they might be getting rid of it is because we're moving forward and any socially conscious person realizes that it's probably a bad thing to have there...especially when we're dealing with the whole world.

  19. What do you guys all think of this?

Swamp Thing's origins have officially been stated and he's "back"
Firestorm is going to blow up in 90 days... possibly the lead in to the next event?

Hawkman, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Jade, Osiris, Maxwell Lord, Hawk, and the original Firestorm are all alive.

Hawkgirl, Professor stein? (Firestorm's mentor), and Boston Brand is dead.

The reason bright day happened was that...

When Swamp Thing was created he was imprinted with Alec Holland's psyche, but when Nekron tried to take over everything Swamp Thing was imprinted by Nekron.

The "quests" each of the people went on was to prevent a possible strengthening or weakening of each of the Swamp Things and/or to purify the corruption that they and the elements had gained.

Boston Brand had to die because >.> ummmm well the reason is the needed a pure body to resurrect Alec Holland, but then he should have already been pure using the logic of why Boston was pure... oh well.

You know... there are a lot of things that we use metals and such in their construction that isn't 100% needed... like electronics... sure the electronics would be hundreds of times bigger and less efficient if we use other materials but it can still be done.

I would bet that they did make a few low tech materials devices. I could see them having a computer by the stargate to give it easy access to a large amount of electricity

There is a very low chance of anything major happening to any given person for the type of people that have that data you stand a what? maybe 1 in a million shot of actually being effected by having that data stolen?

They likely either stole the data for cred card information or passwords. If you handle your passwords right its not a problem and cred card stuff will get them caught quite quickly if people actually pay attention to their bills.

Electricity is actually one of the easiest things to get if you know what you are looking for and how to do it.

Metals and materials that you don't find on the surface of a planet is what would take you a long time to develop because you wouldn't know where to look and wouldn't have the scanners to find them nor the man power to mine it or quarry it.

I'm not sure how mines and such are found so I can't even begin to guess how long it would take to find and mine that stuff but you have to figure that they aren't going to be doing much of it or find much of it unless they are highly lucky...
