On the Nerdist podcast they were talking about these... they had to go through and "remake" all the show pretty much because there was something wrong with SD versions. Like they were degraded or something. So all the footage is not "up-converted" it is taken from the original film and and re-edited together with the new special effects to create the HD resolution.

Quote:Think as to why the ones on the market work as they do and the ones you can find work differently... it's really quite simple to figure out. This is not a change that should be made not is it one likely to be made. When The LOTG set was in Paragon market it occured to me ... why not remove the varying ranges of LVL and just make all IO sets like the one's in Paragon market. That should moderatly improve the sale prices and make the purchase of enhancements easier and let you start building your toon earlier ... rather than waiting to LVL 48 to buy mostly everything. What are the people's thought?

So they go 10k/h and travel 3km before dying... so they work for 20 mins and then need to be recharged for 3 hours...
so
3.3 hours = 3km on these
or i could walk at an average speed which is 5k/h over the same 3 hours and go 17km
The only time i could see these being useful is if you're real lazy and can't afford any other vehicle so you get these for short walks between home and somewhere your going to stay for quite a while...like school -
Quote:The whole Nightwing joins the Police story which is cool and interesting when handled right, but this isn't being handled right as is the whole dissaffected youth that doesn't like their "mentor" thing.Anything can be overly deconstructed to be seen as derivitive of something else, especially Batman (and, by extension, his entire family.) And what plot from Nightwing is being duplicated here, out of curiosity?
Quote:And yes, the Kingdom could be seen as JLAfrica. The problem with that is what, exactly? How many other superteams are out there patterned after the JLA model? They ALL can be seen as "the JL of whatever" or some twist on the existing fomula. You don't only read Justice League and JSA, do you? The interesting part is the storylines involving the characters, not where the ideas originated. I like wondering who was a part of the Kingdom, what they did and why it disbanded.
Quote:I like the mystery of who Masacre is. Yeah, his brother's an (too) obvious choice but it's not a sure bet (he didn't seem to recognize him in the police station when he stabbed him and David hasn't said anything about him seeming familiar.) Massacre's smart and vicicous. He's relentless and a good foil for the hero.
Quote:As far as "mandates" go, who cares? How else do you think diversity happens? People claim there's not enough different races/gender/preference diversification in comics and when the suits decide to give a new character a shot, it's blasted? It's a no-win situation. Again, how a character came to be is less important to me than how interesting said character is. You nor I have no clue if a Night Runner series would've been good or crap. Just because they didn't go with your choice doesn't mean they made the wrong one.
-
Quote:It's not. It's just Bruce mixed with a story arc from Nightwing that takes place in africa. Massacre, though i didn't read this month's issue, is weak and predictable. He's Batwing's brother. The story telling is bad and many scenes are out of place. The idea of the kingdom is just the idea of a JL that formed in africa.Gonna have to strongly disagree with the idea that Batwing is a combination of Nightwing/Batman. I read the series and there's nothing of Dick there. I can see similarities with Bruce but there are differences, as well. Masacre is easily the best new villain to come along in quite some time and the history of the Kingdom is intriguing.
Imo, it's one of the best written and drwan books of the DCnU. It's definately up there with Snyder's Batman. People are dismissing it out of hand without actually giving it a shot. That's why it's so hard to bring diversity to comics. Nobody really gives new chaacters a chance.
It's uninspired corporate mandate crap that isn't interesting and for all their "diversification" what they really did is just add a bunch of black and mexican characters into having titles or in titles. If they really wanted to show they had some integrity and really go the diversity route Night Runner would have been the character used, not this Batwing character that is so obviously mandate created. -
I despise the writer of Batwoman and that series if it continues this same course needs to end. Some people might be confused why I called it disrespectful sexist trash, though... Well that's easy. The writer isn't treating women as equals, but rather treating them as inferior by removing all the males from the series or having them appear as little as possible, mixing that with the killing off of Renee Montoya, one of the strongest lesbians in Dc, along with demoting Capt Sawyer, another of them, and making out like Flamebird is an inexperienced weak little girl when she should be on equal ground as Nightwing in terms of experience and such. The whole thing reeks of insecure bad writing from a writer that doesn't know how to portray characters right nor treat the material with respect to the history of the characters.
By the way... I haven't read this month's Batwoman, but last month they pretty much killed Flamebird (with a small chance of survival) and had Sawyer act completely out of character.
As far as Teen Titans. Lobdell is hit or miss I find and the throwing new characters in was obviously a mandate rather than anything creative. Another thing to consider is that some books are only good if you look at them from a given perspective... which is what Lobdell's writing for Red Hood is... I hope that it a completely meta rip on the whole of the DCnU because it reads perfectly as that, but it could very well just be a horrible book too.
As far as Damian... I have read most of what he's in... I like him, but not with that writer and not with Bruce. Damian should be with Nightwing as everyone thought would happen because Damian is a bad fit with Bruce, but a great fit with Nightwing. That type of thing is really telling of DC in general that they don't understand how things work and why some things are better and others are worse.
As far as Nightwing... Don't read it >.> it's a series of arcs that are ok, but then the creative team changes or there is a mandate and everything is dropped or changed. Nightwing in general is one of the worst comics as a whole due to the entire enterprise that is DC, the writers, editors, and corporation. Basically, Dick is intertwined with Batman always and will never get away from his connection with Bruce no matter what happens because all the people at DC keep dragging them back together while all the other Batfamily are allowed to go off with their own things... Tim Drake was less effected by the events in Batman comics than Nightwing was while they both had titles and Nightwing was supposed to be living in another city and not working with Bruce at all. -
Batman (Snyder is awesome... pick this up)
Detective Comics (garbage gore and shock that doesn't work)
Nightwing (ignoring the past and retreading the same old ground)
Batwing (mash-up of Nightwing and Batman but african. Corporate crap Night Runner would have made a better solo series)
Justice League (Johns doesn't write Batman or Superman right so doesn't really count)
Justice League International (Batman plays straightman to the goofy people)
Batman, Inc. (Stephanie Brown's book I guess? I haven't read it)
Batwoman (Sexist disrespectful trash.)
Batman and Robin (Got the voice right, but everything else sucks)
Batman: The Dark Knight (Great first arc...2nd arc is meh and overshadowed by Batman)
I missed Batgirl in the original list... It's average at best. The biggest problem this title has is likely Gail Simone. She did such an excellent job creating what is the quintessential Babs Gordon that now that that was erased their not allowing her to be that developed character at all Simone is likely having an incredibly hard time writing well as where sh went originally was the best for the character and it's hard to come up with something equal or better. -
Quote:So it seems it's a good thing I haven't read any more new comics since Dec 15th. At least they aren't ruining Swamp Thing and Animal Man
Side note: Wouldn't it be funny if DC did this just to make Liefeld realize he sucked and so they give him several books and then cancel them every few months ^.^
Batman
Detective Comics
Nightwing
Batwing
Justice League
Justice League International
Batman, Inc.
Batwoman
Batman and Robin
Batman: The Dark Knight
Batman Beyond is coming back
and according to "The Source" these books are also Bat-books
Catwoman
Birds of Prey
Red and the Outlaws
One could also make the argument that Suicide Squad is a Bat-Book due to it really being Harley & Deadshot -
if i take that you mean make the window flip upside down...
If you were following the object model i was talking about you would be able to just inverse the touch points...
but if i got a handle on what you did then all you need to do is inverse some of the points like the floor if it's 500 make it -500... and i think that should fix everything else... im tired though so might be wrong. -
And here are their replacements...
Batman, Inc.
Earth 2
Worlds' Finest
Dial H
G.I. Combat
The Ravagers

* G.I. COMBAT - Writer: J.T. Krul. Artist: Ariel Olivetti. Featuring the return of a classic DC Comics series, THE WAR THAT TIME FORGOT, along with rotating back-up stories and creative teams - including THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER, with writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti and artist Dan Panosian; and THE HAUNTED TANK, with writer John Arcudi and artist Scott Kolins.
* THE RAVAGERS - Writer: Howard Mackie. Artist: Ian Churchill. Spinning off from TEEN TITANS and SUPERBOY, this series finds four superpowered teens on the run and fighting against the organization that wants to turn them into supervillains.
Batman, Inc. will run for a while
Earth 2 will be hated by everyone
Worlds' Finest... seriously? Was the asinine joke of a title necessary for this comic?
Dial H will run for a short time before being canceled
G.I. Combat will run for a short time before being canceled
The Ravagers... this just sounds dumb v.v -
http://www.comicvine.com/news/cancel...new-52/144098/
6 of the "New 52" has been canceled...
Men Of War
Mister Terrific
O.M.A.C.
Hawk And Dove
Blackhawks
Static Shock
Men Of War was good, but more than likely noone read it
Mister Terrific was probably the worst or second worst comics of the 52...They shouldn't have canceled it though they should have replaced the write with the guy who wrote Robotman.
O.M.A.C. LMAO... what utter crap...
Hawk And Dove interesting concept ruined by not wanting to do research and an obvious lack of ability on the part of the writer and artist.
Blackhawks. I liked this one for what it was, but kinda sucks that we lost Zinda Blake and the real Birds of Prey for this and as pointed out. Didn't really fit.
Static Shock had potential, but it felt corporate controlled with wanting this but not that, dissecting the character and crumpling him up and then not really giving it a chance. They should have focused on the cartoon continuity because no one knew the comic one and there was a reason for that... -
I know where to start casting the stones at... but I choose to be nice and not mention names and not point out what I've said in the past as being accurate...
I don't care much whether it's spoiled or not for me, but it is still asinine...especially with the title being "Who will die?" It's like having a story called "Will Mary Jane make a deal with the devil altering all reality to bring to life an old women that should have died years ago?" Why yes... yes she is.
I mean OMD is crap... but at least they didn't ruin the ending. -
I would hope that the Ultimate Spider-Man show uses a modified version of the comic version where Kitty Pryde, Johnny Storm, Bobby Drake all work together for a while. Throw FireStar in there, possibly Spider-Woman could work. And you have an interesting little add on to the Ultimate universe that is somewhat of a call back of "Spider-man and his amazing friends" that fits... I doubt that's how they'll handle it as those characters belong to "other" titles that might want to use them, but meh...
Personally I wish they'd animate all the ultimate universe with few changes and with exploring it a bit more in some areas... like Anime does sometimes. -
Within the last month or two i got into listening podcasts... so what kinds of podcasts do you all listen to?
http://nerdist.com - Chris Hardwick interviews people, more or less, comedians. Most if not all the shows are really interesting and informative about various things and while they are talk to comedians the topic of conversation ranges from technology, to tv shows, to bowling, to comics, to other things...
How did this get made? - Basically it talks about bad movies and tries to figure out how it's made. Hosts are... Paul Scheer, June Diane Raphael and Jason Mantzoukas. There some awesome ones like the Superman 3 episodes.
In Our Time:
Culture
Philosophy
Science
Religion
It's basically a podcast where the host, Melvyn Bragg, gets 2-4 experts to talk about a subject and you get interesting discussions about various topics. I find some shows pretty interesting because they start in 1998 because a lot has changed since then. -
Whoever made the front page advertising the "Who will Die?" Story line... I just want to thank you for ruining the story for those of us who were putting it off, or haven't gotten there, or hey I believe that went up the same day that arc went up so thanks for ruining it for everyone.
Now that sarcasm is over is there an actual idea or suggestion? Obviously... Please remove the spoiler from the descriptions. How do you expect people to want to buy that when you ruin the story? -
Nothing wrong with using those words and if you feel there is you should teach your children to not use them or when to use them ^.^ Kids are sponges, like you said... therefor they'll learn the rules too!

Quote:Isn't that a good thing? Foamy argues good points and does it comedically ... that's a good thing that children listen to smart people. Not really a comic per-se (and not really work-safe either) but: Foamy the Squirrel
Warning! Do NOT show Foamy to precocious youngsters. One of my co-workers accidentally showed it to her 5 year old nephew and the little booger has been addicted ever since. And the s**t that comes out of that kid's mouth...

is there anything else on the IDE cable to see if it's not the MOBO?
Have you checked the BIOs to see if it is recognizing it? -
Scalding hot water won't help.
What you want to do is get a small amount of mineral spirits (i.e. gasoline, lighter fluid, lacquer thinner) and let it sit in it for an amount of time trying not to let it touch the rest of the piece the is a scalpel or razor, the sharper and stronger the better... and try to cut away at the in-between the glue and the piece of magnet. I recommend around the magnet as it is metal and likely not as securely bonded.
Once you get the magnet out sand the goop off carefully.
That's your best option probably. -
Ahh the glory of people not really thinking things through...
You can control via looking... ok but how do i fire my guns or powers? keyboard or touchpad! What if I want look somewhere else without the actions following where i'm looking for example, there is a corner coming up and im firing at a hard monster... if i look away from the hard monster i stop firing but if i don't look to check i can get jacked by another monster i don't know exists or not...
not really an "improvement" but i could see it as an addition like voice recognition. -
Quote:I didn't read the instructions, but if I was dumb I might think that somewhere in them, because of the preceding article, one of the instructions were to "get a planet"Well, could you take the magnet out of the shoulder and switch that around? Maybe use a dremel to score a groove enough to lever it out. I would think you'd have more space to work with if you remove the shoulder magnet than the arm magnet.
Edit - Changing a bar and an electromagnet's polarity. -
yeah sorta...
you are bombarded with light from all over so you wouldnt notice a decrease in light for the most part but what happens is that the light ray slows way down, temporarily causing a gap. It's hard to describe in words but basically imagine a desyncing of the thing you are seeing and all other senses because it can only be held for a short time... So assuming they got it to slow down for 5 seconds what wold happen is that whatever is slowing the light is in the suit and is holding it with the suit so the for 5 seconds after you enter a room you are invisible, but then where every you are the light from those 5 seconds start getting released from where you are... so we can see where you are, but what we are seeing is what you did 5 seconds ago though distorted... you also see a shadow on the ground as you normally would. you'd hear all the sounds and smell all the smells.
though you could technically make a complete cloak out of it if you could figure out how to hold the light for long periods of time... you could also use the tech to possibly increase the effectiveness of solar panels though im not sure how practical that would be... -
Umm seems that they are a little mixed up and using incorrect terms...
This has nothing to do with cloaking "time" as they want to imply. it may be a modification on slowing time, but i saw no indication of that in the article... They talk of splitting and slowing light... which would be useful to mess with people... in particular those who use their eyes as their primary sensing organ, but those who don't would be a bit put off by it but then get used to it... the idea of sneaking around or what not also isn't really practical as you would just delay the light...everything else would work the same thus not really beneficial even with long delays. -
Quote:I agree that building a solid foundation for a complex program is a good idea. However, with all due respect, we don't know what exactly Innovator actually wants to do with his program.
10joyQuote:In any event, nobody goes through the derivations from scratch anymore except as a learning process. We do this 3d stuff with matrix-based transformations now. That type of 3d code is more transferrable to accelerated graphics APIs.
Also it's graphical programming which my mind just fizzles on which results in the above mentioned trying to figure it out. Brain goes into over drive... over heats...and then crashes ^.^ And thats also why you get all those crazy messed up edits that i noticed later on how stupid they were and that i was correct before i edited >.> -
Quote:yeah... a, b, c, d is just easier to keep straight in your head than window.x window.y...I always do when I code, I was just going along with Durakken in the post.
Actually, my variables go even further by designing its type. So for instance x, y, z would be fX, fY, fZ the "f" stating that the variables are floating point variables.
btw I was thinking about this more.
Let me see if I understand what you're doing...
you have surface with a puck on it in an absolute position.
You then can move the window with which you are looking at this surface and puck.
You can touch a point on the window which shoots a straight line from that point to the surface which is where the puck should then move to?
If this is accurate then what you are doing is what I said earlier..which is messing with equations for finding the length of a side of a triangle.
So to go through mentally what I'd do...
#1. Window or Portal is an object and contains the following variables
Angle, height, width, pos(x,y), touch(x,y)
Angle is the angle of the window from the ground...which is important.
Height and width are the size of the window which will be needed to figure out position of touch in the world
pos is the position of the window, based on the the upper left corner of the window.
Touch is the position of where you're touch the window and works off the window's position (ie upper left is 1,1 and as you go down and right it increases)
#2. Set up a convert sub-function of touch in the window to where that touch is in the world... the object's touch would be called window.touch.x while this one would be called touch.x or something like that...
this object would have angle, x, y, and possibly z parameters... z is stationary right? or is it not?
#3.
do the simple math for where the puck should be... this should be something like...
Assuming that the ground is 180 degrees and the window is stationary it should be 90 degrees which means all valid angles would be 45 degrees or less (unless you can move the window), but this should be a "if window angle > 45 break"
You know the height of the window to the ground which gives you the length of the side...so if your angle is say 45 degrees the puck should...if I remember right... move the same distance as the height of the of the window or double it or half it... something like that. So all you need is the touch(x,y,z) - puck(x,y,z) and then you need the angle(s) of the window.
And then you simply calculate for that
And that formula is at this website http://library.thinkquest.org/20991/alg2/eqtri.html
under Law of Sines
It's higher level math and outside my realm, but I'm sure you understand it and that should give you what you need and if you follow what I said it should give you a lot more freedom in the program to mess with in program.
And those calculations and such look nothing like what you have, but then I barely understand what you are doing with those calcs.
