That is how I read your post the first time and thought, Well he should just change his foot wear if he doesn't like them!

I got it the second time around which made me laugh at how wrong I was the first time, but still had to share.

Few too obvious to have missed things; no IO in Health or Stamina, I assume you just put a basic Healing and End Mod IO in there.

Personally (and I could be wrong, and if I am I would love to know so I can get better at making my own builds)

I would replace the Jump in SJ with the Winters Gift (from CJ)
take out the two blessings of Zephyr from CJ and add those to sockets to Resilience for more Resistance.

I think more could be done with the build if you wanted to throw tons of cash/merits at it (pvp 3% io, Kin Combat, Force Feedback +recharge (in disembowler)

    Inv Def/Resist

Thank you very much for the replies and the advice on the scrapper post, that was informative as well.

Good to know my investment isn't going to be in the 100% wrong direction

    thanks again!

    Inv Def/Resist

    Hello,
I am making a DM/inv brute that would be an end game character(not the best of the best..of the best) but pretty tough

I am wondering mainly if this is enough def/resist for end game or if I should tweak it a bit more to get the most I could. I have gone for as much recharge as I could (I have perma Hasten), with the thought that faster Siphon Life= greater survivability. This is my first /invuln character and I am not sure if I have gone in the wrong direction. any tips/advice would be appreciated. Below are the stats I am concerned if it's not enough.

    Defense:
    Smash/Lethal 43.8
    Fire/Cold 31
    Energy/Neg 35.7
    Psionic 14.6

    Melee 23.4
    Ranged 19.3
    AoE 19.3

    Resistance

    Smash/Lethal 70.9
    Fire/Cold 28.6
    Eneragy/Neg 23.5
    Toxic 22.3
    Psionic 3%

    Regen(with DP it's perma) 30.97 hp/sec 1.17% persec
    Max HP 2653
    End Rec 3.03/sec
    End Use 1.51/s

  8. Hello, with all the ma/reg and /regen posts I thought it was proper to make a new post instead of hyjacking their threads.

I have a few questions about this build:

Is there a better distribution of slots/enhancements that would achieve a higher survivabilty than what I have here?

Did i make any Character Builder Noob 101 Mistakes?

Is there any recipe that I can't get in the build from either AE Tickets, Hero Merits, Empyrean Merits or Astral Merits? ( I have a little bit of cash (1.7 bil) but not enough to buy all i want)

    Thank you for your time!

  9. As a person who has a MA/Regen Scrapper I feel I can give you 'general' advice about a /regen brute.

The thing that is going to get you killed almost all the time is spike damage and lag(being unable to hit your heals when you need to)

Having higher hit points(which equals more regen) is important and you will want to get Dull Pain on Perma so you have the most chance of survival from the spike damage.

You will want Tough, Weave, Manouvers, Combat Jumping and anything else you can to improve your defense and reduce incoming damage that will let your regen heal it back up.

Recharge is a very important thing to slot for so your Moment of Glory, Instant Healing, and Reconstruction are up as much as possible, so Hasten is very important too

When ever I need to take an Alpha strike (solo play, or I am the most capable to survive it) I will jump in and give it a second and hit my Reconstruction to heal back what got through. I use that on every alpha I have to take, so have it up as much as possible is important.

On my /regen I mainly go for Recharge and +hp when I can in that order

I can't comment much about ss/ as I have only played lower level characters with it but from what I understand the +recharge you are shooting for with /regen will help the set out quite nicely as well and a Force Feedback +recharge proc in Foot Stomp is almost a 'must'

    MA/Reg

Thank you for the reply! I really do appreciate it!

taking your advice for all things, I came up with this. I switched the lotg item in mog for a recharge and am kinda happy with the 57 sec recharge (all things going)

the main times I need it is when there is a lot of mobs spawn or something and I am a bit laggy (bad on a clicky set like regen, but oh well) and it's hard to get it activated.

I changed a few minor things around with your advice. My defenses and resists are low, and I am wondering if I might have put too much emphasis on regen/hit points and sacraficed too much?

    Thanks again!

  11. This thread is exactly what I was looking for!

I liked Necronomnom's build , but tweaked it a little bit to suit my wants, what I am wondering is if I messed it up too much? I am a very novice builder and not sure if I might have killed one thing to get something else. (lose end recov for aoe def for example)

I was hoping someone could look at this and tell me if it would work as a level 50 end build (not a leveling up one)

    Thanks a lot

<edit>couple minor things. The build does have too many +3% damage boost, but I think it is just 1 extra, and need the sets for the defence more than the lost 3%, Also it seems it is slightly better to put the 6 slots of performance shifter into Stamina for the bonus instead of Phyiscal Perfection.

I am trying to hit the soft cap on melee/ranged/aoe and also do a LOT of damage. Plans where for the Musculature Core just for the big damage kick from it too.

    MA/Reg

I have a 50 ma/reg scrapper I am looking to set up and put all my money into, but would like some suggestions and advice before I did so please.

This does take into account the ultra rare incarnate by the way, which is going to be easier to get than the several sets of purples.

    thanks for your time

  13. First let it be said that this is the second time I was going to reply to this thread thinking something could be done better with a slight shift, but didn't after I double checked my numbers and saw I was wrong.

That said, Wouldn't it be better to remove the 2 Heal IOs from physical perfection and add in Numina's Heal and Miracle Heal instead? I am guessing it is the same bonus on the IO but it would give you 2 sets of 12% regen.

    [edit]

Also looking at Health only has 1 slot? Wouldn't those 4 slots for the physical perfection be better off going into Health so they can boost a higher base number?

These upgrades will stay with the henchman until it is defeated, unsummoned or you zone (zoning meaning leaving an island zone, exiting or entering a mission).
Assuming you are talking about the level 6 and 32 upgrades, then this is not the case anymore with zoning.

  15. Hello, after going over the planner I am thinking about the build below but would like to drop it here for advice any thoughts on things i might have missed or am just wrong about please.

You will notice I would be running 9 toggles while fighting, do you think that would be too much?

I plan on getting cardiac boost for Alpha to help with the end and boost my resistances.

so whens the last time u steam rolled with just 2 kelds ?

    [/ QUOTE ]

This being my first level 50, I have yet to play a kheldon.

I do appologize if my posts seem to be snarky enough to deserve such a response.

    I HAVE played a
    brute and corrupter
    brute and MM
    2 Scrappers
    Tanker and scrapper

    and those did some steamrolling
    [ QUOTE ]

The "Epic" in Epic Archetype does not refer to power level. The "Epic" refers to the word Epic, in the literary sense. The Epic Archetypes have a storyline unique to them that runs from level 1-50.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Thank you, this does make more sense in the epicness. I was thinking that it couldn't have been that way when I did 1 quest in 1 encounter and was told to come back later. I was expecting a lot more of a story line. I took precautions (making sure I was pacted up and had a bit of free time) to do the quest line.

Thanks again for all the responses!

    Crab Questions

    Thanks for the replies!

    lot of valid points.

The only thing I would like to mention on the epic-ness is that if it takes 4 of a team to become steamrollers that seems a bit unepic to me.

I duo a lot with my brother and we have 5 sets of characters that we roll around with in pact bonds and with just a brute and corrupter and that feels more epic destroying things at an unreal pace. I can't wait for Issue 16 to be able to crank the mobs up for that duo. We are going to start it at 8, and then see if it goes to 11.

    Thanks again for the information!

    Crab Questions

    Greetings,

Having just got my first level 50 Villain and decided to make a crab spider and have a few questions on things that are confusing me.

In the Crab Primary tree there is Venom Grenade and Frag Grenade, along with the same 2 grenades in Soldier Primary. I was wondering why they are there 2 times? You can't take Frag Grenade twice so I am confused by that. Do they both use the same animation? If I am going Crab would it be better to take the one in Crab?

Also I am not a number cruncher, but as I play the character it doesn't feel "epic" to me or seem comparable to Kheldons in there free travels and other neat things. I was wondering what is 'epic' about the character? I don't mean that in an Eddie Haskel kinda way.

Conditioning, +.08 more health, endurance regeneration seems REALLY weak, but with my statement of not a number cruncher is this better than how poor it seems to me?

Thanks for reading and I don't want to seem like a whiner or complainer type, but just some of the things I noticed and would like to be corrected on.

    Thanks!
