LF advice on direction of build for SS/Reg brute

Hi,

I'm looking for advice on the direction(s) I should take with my lvl 26 SS/Regen brute. (resists, defense, etc.) Please dont say "reroll a WP", I took regen because I wanted regen.

I'm not a power gamer, so I'm not too concerned with being able to solo at +4/x8. I usually solo, but would like to be able to tank for a team should I have the chance.

I guess I'm looking for general advice, like should I take tough and or weave, leadership, combat jump, etc. He has been a very end. friendly toon so I can handle another toggle or two.

I'm not rich by any means, but I do have enough influence that I will be able to IO him in non-purples later on.

I'd like to get to perma rage status at some point in time, (already have 1 full set of kinetic crash slotted and haste).

Would appreciate suggestions as to what I should look for in the IO sets, like recharge time, resists, def, etc. Also any playstyle tips will be viewed with an open mind.

Thank you for your time and suggestions.

Have a good one!

As a person who has a MA/Regen Scrapper I feel I can give you 'general' advice about a /regen brute.

The thing that is going to get you killed almost all the time is spike damage and lag(being unable to hit your heals when you need to)

Having higher hit points(which equals more regen) is important and you will want to get Dull Pain on Perma so you have the most chance of survival from the spike damage.

You will want Tough, Weave, Manouvers, Combat Jumping and anything else you can to improve your defense and reduce incoming damage that will let your regen heal it back up.

Recharge is a very important thing to slot for so your Moment of Glory, Instant Healing, and Reconstruction are up as much as possible, so Hasten is very important too

When ever I need to take an Alpha strike (solo play, or I am the most capable to survive it) I will jump in and give it a second and hit my Reconstruction to heal back what got through. I use that on every alpha I have to take, so have it up as much as possible is important.

On my /regen I mainly go for Recharge and +hp when I can in that order

I can't comment much about ss/ as I have only played lower level characters with it but from what I understand the +recharge you are shooting for with /regen will help the set out quite nicely as well and a Force Feedback +recharge proc in Foot Stomp is almost a 'must'

It depends on the budget really. I would say s/l def and +rech (getting DP perma is awesome) if you dont have a lot of cash.

I dont recomend shooting for too much +HP, any that you get is vastly overshadowed by DP and (if you get them) the accolades.

- Not only is Rage easy to get Perma, you'll find it won't be long before it starts double stacking.

- Get Dull Pain as close to perma as possible.

- Get Combat Jumping, Weave and Maneuvers.

- Get yourself to 45% Smashing and Lethal Defence. It should be easily doable for you with a few cheap sets.

- Footstomp is godly with the FF+Recharge Proc.

- The more HP set bonuses you have, the better. This is only as long as you don't sacrifice damage for it.

Here's what I'd go for if I had an SS/Regen Brute. It is expensive, but because I already had this build ready I thought I'd post it to give you ideas.

It has capped HP (with Dull Pain active), perma DP as well as nearly double stacking Rage, decent Def/Res stats as well as Darkest Night and KD from Foot Stomp to help you stay alive passively.

Personally, if I were on a limited budget I'd set my IO priorities as follows:

1) Perma DP (95% in DP through enhancements, Hasten and 55% global through set bonuses and/or incarnate buffs). Perma Rage with some overlapping comes as a by-product.
2) Decent S/L Defense, that being 20%+. Quite easy with CJ/Weave/Maneuvers and the Steadfast unique.
