Damn the man! It doesn't let you do it during the forced post-teleport hover though, which is a bit upsetting. I would love to have my MM porting all over the battlefield dropping traps and triage beacons that fast.

Maybe I'll pop on test and see what happens with TP + Hover + Traps, unless someone already has that going on and wants to chime in.

Thanks for the help all. I'm still concerned about it becoming a recent development, and then last night I was able to play for 3 or 4 hours with no problems at all. I would have figured that stuff like 8 player missions or ship raids would push it, but that hasn't been the case at all. I'm going to change out the PSU regardless because I'm no longer comfortable with the stock set and I'd like to look into a beefier vid card anyways. You all rock, thank you!

It's got 6 sticks, hell if I know why they went that way. Physically checked them and they're all in there. Memtest also comes back clean. I'll take a look at the bios in a bit.

Shouldn't it have been doing that all along? Looking back I realize that I neglected to mention that I've had this rig for about 6-7 months, and this just started happening.

@kinaki: I haven't peeked at those yet, I'll take a look next time I load up the game. Sitting at 35 out of game right now, only hitting 48 during heavy gameplay.

edit: Connections are all rock solid, fans are all spinning and nary a mote of dust in the case. Off to check to the temperatures!

What concerns me too is the intermittent nature of this, and that it has happened once while working on a costume, and once just waiting at a mission door. Hrmmmmmm..

Also, tried completely uninstalling the graphics drivers and reinstalling the latest ones. Walking away from this computer for a little bit so I can cool off. Thanks in advance for the help, folks.

Hey folks, I've got a fun one here. 2 of the last three times I've logged in, I've played for about ten minutes and then my computer shut down. At first it looked like a crash to desktop, but then Windows shuts down as if I'd gone Start -> Shutdown. I haven't installed / uninstalled anything in the last week or so, nor has this been a problem before. Anyone have any issues with this before?

So the -ToHit of Dark Blast, that can easily stack into the 28% range doesn't bring anything?

The -Recharge & Slow Effect in Ice Blast doesn't reduce incoming damage, and allow for more breathing room when facing a harder hitting enemy?

Psychic Blast may not have the slow, but it's got more -Recharge, so I guess that must be pretty useless too.

And the -Defense in Radiation Blast, well, I know that I hate inducing a cascade defense failure in my enemies, making them easier to hit for the whole team.

From personal experience, the KB in Energy Blast made me fall in love with my Kin / Energy all over again. I was about to delete him at lvl 45, because I was having trouble soloing even con mobs. I said 'To hell with it' and respec'ed him one last time. I droped leadership for more blasts and slotted them with the intent to arrest with extreme fun. You know what? It is. I control my KB, and I can take down the Fake Nem / War Hulks Spawns in PI all day, and they con orange. Guess that's useless too.

I will agree that Electricity is a tough one, if only for the fact that it takes a very close eye to stack the effects perfectly and continuously to keep mobs at both zero endurance and zero recovery.

Archery gives us more damage at the expense of not having any (apparently) useless secondary effects. Just fast activations and a crashless nuke. And more damage. Nothing special there it seems.

We won't mention sonic, because it does rock and I'll agree with you there.

Now factor all this in alongside a slotted and well used primary, and I don't see where it's so tough to solo. Maybe an Empath / Archery Defender would have some issues, but even they should be able to take on Heroic Missions without too much issue.

Also, dual builds for all your soloing needs. I love teaming with other folks, seeing awesome interactions of powers, but there are times when I don't feel social or it's 3am and I'm having no luck finding someone else, so then it's solo-build time.

They do. Somewhere, probably not even on their home server, I think that everyone has a scrapper. Even the folks who make those "team only" Empaths with the default blast. They've got scrappers like you wouldn't believe.

Is getting iced and then waiting out the timer an option? Just curious. I can't imagine staring at a laid-out hero for 5 hours, but it'd be funny.

This. A thousand times, this. People don't hate Energy Blast. people hate people who send mobs sailing into adjacent spawns, causing pets and overzealous Scrappers & Brutes to go chasing them.

Welcome to the forums, LordOfRebirth! I'm a big fan of Radiation Emission / Sonic for a mixed-bag Defender myself. Really though, find something that looks fun to *you* and to heck with what you think you ought to be playing. Defenders are good like that, in that even the least synergistic pairing can bring a ton to the team.

I want to love Trick Arrow, I really do. I like all the powers (on paper), as well as the look. There's something buried in my brain about TA from when it launched though, in the dark times when they over-corrected it. That, and I can't seem to figure out what I want to pair it with more, /Dark or /Ice.

I can see coop free fire - form a team, head in, those folks are exempt from your friendly fire, everyone else gets to eat it. Actually, that would be kind of neat.

Though if it's supposed to be a "feral" type, the gloves would be pretty out of place. Really, the only workable solution is to put Jay on an IV drip of amphetamines and chain him to his workstation.
