  1. In continuing bad form... I'm uncertain again.

Redtomax data shows that number allowed is five. However, Mid's has it flagged as "does not stack from same caster".

While multiple -recharge procs may be overkill, I'd like to try it as long as mechanically it works.
  2. In partial bad form of replying to myself, but FYI for anyone else researching.

I finally found the proc info under Red Tomax's set bonuses. It looks like a target can be affected by up to 5 instances of each proc, for a theoretical -200% recharge (more if the Induced Coma proc is added).

As the -tohit and -speed debuffs work fine with the targeted AOE toggle and PBAOE toggle, I assume that the proc works, as well. TOo bad there isn't a visual indicator (that I've noticed), like a damage resist debuff or a -tohit debuff.

    Thanks,

    Droid.
  3. IO gurus:

Can anyone confirm the mechanics of the two -recharge procs (Dark Water's Despair and Pacing of the Turtle), or point me towards a link that does?

I'm assuming, but want to know for certain:

    1) that a target can only be affected by one of each (so multiple powers or multiple players on a team can't stack it), like Achille's heel proc.
    2) If slotted into targeted AOE toggles or location AOE, it has a chance to proc against all enemies within the affected area at the usual chance for toggles/auras: every 10 seconds, I think. The powers I"m looking at are Darkest Night (-tohit, -damage toggle), Time's Juncture (-tohit, slow), and distortion field (slow)

I've been saving a slot in Darkest Night for my two characters with that power, and with a /time mastermind levelling up, I want to maximize the slow and -recharge of the set for villanous amusement.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Droid.
  4. Thanks for the confirmation; that's what I expected.

After working off the rust in UG and DD last night... Kin/sonic is powerful enough. I don't think I've ever seen the lichen infested war walker, avatar of Mot, or Diaboloqiue herself melt faster.
  5. I know this thread is a month old, but still semi-active and had a kin/sonic question:
Is it a safe assumption that powerboost will not affect anything related to kin/sonic buffs and debuffs.

As awesome as that would be (a few powerboosted sonic attacks, or damage buffs / debuffs of FS and SP), I expect it would be overpowered.
  6. With the increased emphasis on perks (and $$$) via the Paragon Market, an easier to implement/sell proposal would be a costume change for humanoid MM minions (thugs, mercs, ninjas... maybe even undead zombies).

No power changes, and I believe I read a few years ago that custom pet costumes are harder to implement than playes may think, but I think the paragon market has shown that players drop $$$$ on shiny new costume packs to match their character concept. With the lack of variety in MM pets right now, I bet they'd make a truckload.

Of course, it would be better for us if we could create our own costumes, but then they couldn't sell MM pet costume packs to us.

    CityBinder .80

What is the relevance/use of primary/secondary powersets for most uses of SoD/Citybinder?

For MMs, it uses the power names for the numpad binds.

For Kheldians, it updates fly/teleport binds to reference inherents.

I thought that SoD checked for certain weapon sets to avoid untoggling weapons on SoD/follow to avoid redraw... but what other uses do they serve?

Thanks especially for update to silent. I updated all the scripts via sed when I joined at I18 (and left at I19), and keep reusing that profile vs regenerating new binds.

  9. That is very good information. Thank you.
  10. All,

I read somewhere that the -resist of this proc is limited to once per caster, so slotting in multiple powers has little effect.

Can anyone clarify the definition of 'caster'?

For a mastermind, is this per pet, per pet power, or per player?

Assuming I'm attacking something big and slot one in both the tier1 and tier3 Beast Mastery pets (tier2 doesnt take it), as well as a personal power:

    Will it stack:

    a) Once (because caster is defined as me and all pet powers)
    b) three times (my power, tier1 pet power, and tier3 pet power)
    c) five times (3 tier 1 pets, 1 tier3 pet, and my power)

    Thanks,

    Droid
  11. So with no replies, I'm trying to decide if...

    a) I'm just that good. My build is awesome, and there's no room for improvement.

    b) KM is an uninteresting build for brutes, as the set is probably better on Scrappers. (But I didn't know that at the time.. and wouldn't have changed it if I did.)
  12. FWIW, I agree (or don't disagree) with weave: my concern with my nightwidow is when I do get hit that 5% of the time, it hurts... and I'm looking for some mix of resist, health, or regen to mitigate that.

I don't disagree with more defense on principle, but IMHO (my opinion), I think it's overkill, even for Incarnate trials, as you'll have defense from other sources.
  13. Why the emphasis on weave for the extra defense? Softcap is 45% outside of some Incarnate. You're at 58.9 percent melee, and that's without mask presence up.

Tough would be nice for some SL resist for when you get hit, but you should be capped defense without weave once ML is permanent: why burn a power, 5 slots, and another endurance toggle?

Also, once at level 50 you can save a few slots (if you're willing to spend a few $ for boosters) by enhancing L50 recharges in Hasten, and similar for Stamina. You can also reduce ML to 3 with 3x defense/recharges boosted to +5. Each is essentially a HamiO before that changed.

    [edit to add the following]

For reference, my current build is here, albeit a work in progress. Placate, Elude, and smoke bomb are all skippable, and I did take the psychic scream as a cone power with range boosters, as more range = more damage (more targets).

  14. All,

With my recent return (since I19) and to use a freespec before the new one, I updated my KM/SD Brute for the I22 Hami updates, ATO additions, etc, and am open to feedback on: what next?

He's softcapped defense to all positions. Other than a Hectacomb proc, there are no purples, as the common/rare IO sets provide the defense set bonuses to softcap.

If you had a billion influence... is there anything worth updating? I wouldn't mind increasing health/regen for when I do get hit, but otherwise I'm satisfied with the build, and even more so as I unlock and T4 the new Incarnate slots.

Note that I'm still undecided on Alpha slot. Judgement and Interface are decided, and I started with Barrier for the extra defense/resist to compensate for Pacification in TPN, but may switch to Rebirth for the max health / regen.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Droid.

Membranes don't work in ML anymore for the same reason.

However, you can slot IOs with recharge components, and optionally use boosters to get the same effect.

Does Membrane in AD still increase defense debuff resistance?

I thought this went away with the HamiO changes in I22. I also thought I checked this when I returned a few weeks ago, and the 'real numbers' reported by the power showed no increase. IN my respec, I took them out pending further testing... but it would be great to know that they still buff defense/recharge in both SD's AD and a widow's mindlink.
  17. All good points: HamiOs can squeak out a few more points (when combined) and are transferable, where a Boosted IO isn't.

With the low price of Enhancement Booster x90, though (~$20?), enough to make 18 +5s, that's about a $1 for a pseudo-HamiO of my choice. I'm not a fan of using real $$$ to buy imaginary items, but from a game enjoyment perspective.. yes, I'll spend an extra 1$ to pick an HO than risk a pug Hami. (Depends who's leading of course, and I can still battle Hami for the fun of it).

Another perk for enhancement boosters is that you can boost a single attribute 50 IO to 50+5, and 2 of those equal 3 SOs... so for those powers that don't take/need IOs but are important enough to max out the bonus pre-ED, you save a slot. Hasten and Stamina are the first two that come to mind.
  18. All,

Is my math and/or understanding of Enchancement Boosters wrong, or does this negate nearly all of HamiO perks?

For the most common scenario of a HamiO that boosts two (usable) attributes, you can now accomplish the same thing with any two attribute IO and get the same bonus (effectively two SOs in one enhancement)

    But wait, there's more!

A boosted IO gives even more bonus if there are three (or four!) usable aspects, as the bonuses of all are multiplied by 25%

You can pick the IO / attribute combination you want vs hoping for the right drop of Hami.

A boosted IO can still give a set bonus that HamiO's can't.

With the additional fix of HamiO's boosting both buff and debuff versions of a power... what purpose do Hami's serve now?

Yes, I can think of one: Acc/Mez and Dam/Mez have perks for abilities with multiple secondary debuffs, and some MM pets that use hold/disorient/slow/etc (my SpecOps loved t hem), but... what else?

Am I missing something, or are Enhancement Boosters a conspiracy by Hamidon to stop getting killed a few times a week?

    Thanks,

    Droid.

This is silly... notaries are ridiculously easy. The UPS store will do it for a few dollars. Heck, if you're in Chicago area, I'll do it for free. All you are really notarizing is your signature, and identity of the other party via reasonable means (such as that driver's license).

  20. All,

As a recent returner after I18, I see that that the damage / resist bug for the tier 2 demon pet is still there. Are there any plans on fixing this?

For those not aware... damage enhancements in the tier2 pet also increase the damage resist of ember shield. (feature)

The bug is that damage enhancements are capped at ~60%ish instead of ~95%, like resist/defense enhancements. (verified in both the enhancement summary and combat attributes)

I bugged this in I16, and again at I17 launch... was surprised to see it still there after I18 as well.

    Any word?
  21. ok, so FF procs do work? I remember them being buggy before on my ill/stormer.

I took Kosmic out for a test drive on +4... not nearly enough bad guys Even had a purple drop (Ragnarok); maybe I can trade it for that build-up
  22. All,

I'm looking to dust off my L50 warshade and reslot (and to pull out the L35 IOs for my Praetorians).

What non-purple procs give you the most bang for the buck in a trifrom warshade?

Does Gaussian's Build-up work (did it ever?) for, say, the Nova form?
Force feedback +recharge in either of the nova aoe's with knockback?

Any other personal favorites (other than Lotg and all it's goodness, of course).

    Thanks,

    Kosmic
  23. They could accomplish this by bringing back the few million prestige bonus to the Test server.

While it's a seperate client to load, it's not keeping you any less social: you can't see tells in the base editor.

Actually, for those with two computers or enough oomph to multi-window, you're allowed to be in test and production servers simultaneously, so you could play the "base editor mini-game" while waiting for the TF to start, badges, et cetra.
